Hard to do anything in the transfer market when we don't know if our most valuable asset is going or not. At least if he we could get rid for a good price we can go after replacements. This was always going to be a massive problem this window.

200 million...cash...no installments...oh and Zidane must swim across the channel with the fat agent on his back.

I say we rinse Madrid if they want him so much. And if he kicks up a fuss shove him in the reserves till his contract runs down.

Obviously this is fantasy but I did enjoy it while it lasted...

I can't believe people here are even discussing such insulting offers like 150m, 180m or 200m. Personally I would decline 250m because there's simply no one else who could contribute as much as Paul does for our club (both on and off the pitch), but understandably the board would have to entertain such offer. Anything below the world record fee +10% though? A bad joke.

Let him go - Just get a decent player as part of the deal i.e. Cellabos

He's not leaving. Perez and the Madrid brass are not going to pay what we want and then Perez will go to Zidane and say " I tried but they wouldn't sell".

I'm thinking Raiola will end up getting some sort of a raise for his client. Pogba kisses the badge when he scores his first goal of the season, and voila, all is forgotten.

This. Selling Pogba at the end of the window without having replacements lined up would be suicide. Ideally we sign the replacements before selling Pogba.

The ABC article says that Madrid told Raiola that they will not pay 180 million by no means. Literally something like "nor full of wine".
Although I would be happy to give Zidane what he wants, i would not pay it either.
I think the press, the club, and the fans are unable to separate the player's performance and his cost.
Paying 180 million for a midfielder would inevitably lead to the feeling that he has not lived up to expectations. Something like what is happening to Coutinho in Barcelona.

Paul is twice the player compared to anyone at your club, Hazard included. If you think that 180m is actually too much and not an insult to PP and Manchester United, you simply haven't seen Paul play. No other explanation.

Madrid can feck off with their low ball offers. He is worth far more than Hazard so stop taking the piss and pony up his full value or go buy Eriksen from Spurs. Paul is just hitting his prime and is 2 years younger than Eden, not only is he on a long term contract with us but his resale value in 3 or 4 years will be far higher than Hazard. Age, contract, ability, resale value, commercial value all factor into the price and Paul is superior to Eden in every one of those areas. If we are asking 180 million we are spot on and if they try to haggle tell them the price is 200 million after July 1 and will rise 10 million a week from then until the window closes.

...

What goes around fecking does come around. Both Inter and Madrid set us high prices when tried to negotiate with them, it's our turn now. Both players on long contracts and we are not trying to raise funds. Pay what we want or feck off.

I don't see what good stalling does us, we need to either tell Madrid to bid the maximum they will and set a deadline , & then if we want to sell just do so, or we need to put out a statement and say he's staying come what may.

We're supposed to be doing a rebuild job here, right now we could lose DDG, Pogba, and Lukaku all at once, no matter how much money we get that would just be crazy stuff, we need some clarity now.

I agree. I remember the good times we had when Paul was injured; imo it should take at least 250m to force us to relive that again.

Some times I think you're his brother.

I suspect maybe you're the one that hasn't seen him play if you genuinely believe what you're saying.

Mbappé cost 180 just two years ago!

What fecking Paul Pogba have people been watching these last few years? Unbelievable! Would be happy to get our money back frankly

Quality control
He is clearly far too good for this club. Newcastle managed to keep hold of Shearer for a long time, but those times are gone. Basically, what United should do is to get rid of players who have the quality to play for title-winning sides (DDG and Pogba) and bring in players who are at the club's level (Daniel James, Longstaff).

By far the most talented player at the club, we are doomed if we sell him at any cost.

Cant wait till safe hating nonsense crap like this leaves our fanbase (no offence)

I mean that would probably require the club to do things correctly so judging by Liverpool, at least 20 years?
Whatever it is it's not wishing our best players away while cry judging the calibre of players he has never seen.
Liverpool basically won the Cl with a first 11 that consists of players from mid level EPL sides. The crass generalizations on here is ridiculous

So why is it not fair for Pogba to be on the same price as a teenager? Pogba is our main player, named in PFA team of the year & can also be marketable in sponsorship so United has right to put high price.

You seem to have missed out performances in this analogy. Absolutely blinkered, Hazard has probably been the best player in the premiership for a large percentage of the last 5 years (bar the awful season he had). Pogba has probably been the best player in the premiership for about 5-10% of the time he has played in it if we are being very generous.
The points you are making about age, contract, resale value etc are valid but as a footballer performance wise he isnt worth half the figures being bandied about, really he is only worth what we paid for him because of inflation.
If we could get around the £120m being mentioned and more importantly spend it wisely, we should be snapping there hands off.

Absolutely bang on. And in other factual news people should pay attention to, the world is flat and if a poll was ran now Russell Beardsmore would deservedly be voted our best player of all time. You would refuse £250m....this isnt a prime Ronaldo, Messi....this is Paul Pogba, undeniably talented yes....£250m you would refuse.....you must be a hoarder

I've seen 150m and 180m being mentioned.
Obviously the club does not want to sell their best player.
With the investments being made to the squad, Pogba will benefit form having better players around him.

My gut feel is he will be here coming season.

No way should we be 'snapping their hands off' for a fee less than Pool got for Coutinho.

When he's on his game he's scintillating. But if he wants out do people still want him here, if we get a good price (150m ish)? He had loads of games where he's simply not showed up when he's supposedly motivated, even under Ole who has not stopped gushing about him.

Either we extend his deal this summer or we sell. It would be worth exploring what PSG would be willing to pay to ensure we get the price we want. If Madrid continue their shithousery, offload him to PSG. Raiola gets paid then and again when they sell to Real later (if he's still wanted).

I'd rather sell than keep an unhappy player. But Real don't set the asking price.

Was rumoured a while back that players who wanted out were given a deadline to state their intentions - which would make sense.

Letting some kind of "will he, won't he" nonsense become a distraction would be ridiculous given the situation we're in.
