Tend to agree with this. But the stuff being said by the Pogba camp is quite a masterclass in doublespeak, designed to keep everyone guessing.
Wish he'd just shut up and get on with the season. Saying stuff like ''you never know what the future brings'' always triggers a media frenzy.
That's the thing: I don't think THEY want him. If they did, you'd certainly think they'd stump up the money more readily than 27m and James, ffs. (EDIT - especially since they seem be going balls deep in on Neymar, who will likely cost even more than the most optimistic value we'd ever place on PP).
I don't doubt Zidane sees him as his crown jewel, but with the way it's looking I don't see him lasting the season over there. They look hilariously bad, and he is increasingly adding further credence to the Sexy Moyes jibes he had when he first assumed the managerial position at the Bernabeau.
But what if he wants to leave? Do you really want Manchester United to keep players who do not want to play for the club? I don't. This season is the first where the club can genuinely continue to clear out the crap, and begin, begin to build. If players are not up for that, it's best if they move on. That's my opinion. Why? Because when (not if, when..) we do not play so well, or Pogba doesn't have a good game, or gets sent off..or something or the other, then it just all starts up again... it's unhealthy for the club, squad, manager...
What I said has got nothing to do with what I want or don't want - it was a prediction about what will happen i.e. Pogba will not move.
As for my personal opinion, I don't see what selling Pogba could possibly have to do with a project to "clear out the crap" given that he is one of the world's best midfielders. More generally, I am wary of setting up some simplistic worldview of players who really want to be here versus players would would accept a move away. In reality probably pretty much every player currently at this Man United (who finished in 6th place and aren't in the Champions League) could be made to think about their future if they thought they were wanted by Zidane at Real Madrid. Do you think that Wan-Bissaka or Maguire wouldn't consider jumping ship if they were told Real Madrid were in for them? If being immune to that is a criterion for being kept then we're going to have to build a squad entirely of die hard United fans. And also means that any time RM come knocking we have to give up whichever player they fancy.
Just because a player is temped by a move doesn't mean that they are somehow toxic. de Gea agreed to join Real Madrid four years ago and has been a great keeper for us since. Ronaldo signalled he fancied a move to Madrid well before he went and it didn't seem to do us any harm to keep him around for a bit longer. Cantona wanted a move in '95 but we didn't just flog him - Ferguson convinced him to stay, and I don't remember that working out too badly either.
This attitude that United only have room for players who want to be here above all else and are totally impossible to tempt into a move away strikes me as unrealistic and a bit juvenile, to be honest. Especially at a time when we are not, in a playing sense, one of the top sides in the world.

It doesn't matter if it is publicly stated that the player wants to leave or who does it. What I meant by circus is all the distraction caused by the player, his entourage during the entire season. It never got bad the point where Man United sang in unison insults towards Pogba or his family.

Not sure why (or how) you conclude that it's 'juvenile' to consider the problems for a club to have players, and in this case, an extremely important player, who has stated that they feel it may be time to move on. I think that is a worry. The situation(s) with De Gea, Cantona (which I do not recall him wanting to leave the club, rather get away from football..) and Ronaldo made an agreement to stay another season, so that was a mutually accepted decision.
Pogba's situation is not like that, and simply stating that 'all players may be interested in playing for Real under Zidane..' takes a very specific sitiation, and attempts to suggest this as simply another rumour about another player.

No one ever stated anything about players only being here if they could never be tempted to go elsewhere. That's a bizarre statement, please do not suggest that I made such a claim. My thoughts and concerns are specific to the role Paul pogba has in a team that is in transition, and is pretty fragile in many ways. So, to repeat myself, no, I do not think it is good to have this ongoing debate about any player. This is my point re 'clearing the crap'. It has not a thing to do with his talent. I doubt there is anyone who admires his (Pogba's) talents more than I. But this rhetoric, this 'will he stay or leave...' narrative, is unhealthy and needs clarification. Ok, those are two ambigious statements from a player who does not want to spend his prime years playing Europa League. At least he's stated that he's happy in Manchester, he enjoys playing football with his teammates and always wants to win.
But other than that, what has Pogba done? He's attended the clubs sponsor obligations, completed a full pre-season with the club without incident. Stood over the Milan game with a back cramp according to OGS, but then played the closed game against Blackburn. Truly the sign of a man worse than Neymar. Add that to the performance against Chelsea.
Aside from the two comments about his future, he has done exactly 0 that could even remotely warrant any criticism, he's been a model professional on the pitch and off it. There has been no issues that we the fans are aware of aside the "who knows" comments.
Neymar flat out refuses to play for PSG. His owners actively wants him gone. The club president has openly criticized his attitude. He literally cried his way out of Barcelona and left on a incredibly sour note, PUNCHED a fan, reported back from vascation a week late, and again.. refuses to play for the team, he simply did not play the season opener because he wants to leave.

Pogba has a price tag of £180 million. Real Madrid offered £27 million and James Rodriguez. There is not a football club on this planet this year that can buy Paul Pogba, so he stays wether he wants to or not. More importantly, he's staying because the transfer window is closed.

)doesn't close until the beginning of September.That being said I don't believe he's going anywhere for the next 12 months at least.

I so much agree with this. And I suppose Pogba knows this too. It’s the reason he left the first time for Italy, a slower league. Premier league is hard and everyone looks better abroad even Ronaldo did.
