I don't believe the 500k rumour one bit. Why do we have a CL clause in the players contract which ruduces their wage should we fail to get in the CL, then offer Pogba a double your money payrise? Bollocks 
He might be your most talented player, but he's just not good for your team.
I feel the same way about Neymar at PSG. If they sold him and re-invested the proceeds wisely, they could be so much better.
Totally agreed. Really don't know what to say. Another long line of good potential players that cant make it in Man utd for whatever reasons.
I haven't seen enough of Maddison or Aouar to form a credible opinion about them, but there are plenty of midfielders who are available at the right price.
Anything over 140M would be a reasonable price for Pogba and we should be able to secure at least 2 top talents who are ready to come into the squad straight away - Tielemans (40M) & Bruno (75M) would be my preferred options and would cost about 110M, plus we will have money left over to buy players with potential such as Longstaff.
Its telling that most of our fans don't seem to be that fussed about him moving on, but it is absolutely imperative that we milk whoever he ends up moving to. In hindsight we let Ronaldo move too cheaply given his status & marketability etc and for all of his faults Pogba is certainly the nearest thing we have had to that since. 3 years on his contract and approaching his prime.
I get a little tired of seeing us being milked for players and letting ours go relatively cheaply. Pogba for me is worth £150m minimum in this market and I would genuinely prefer to keep an unhappy player than to let him go for less than his worth

Every player has their price.
But as you are finding with Wan-Bisakka and Diop, those prices are a lot higher than you are probably willing to pay for them.
If clubs are asking between £50-70m for defenders, does that now make Neves' value £70m+?
The decision will be based on shirt sales and merchandising potential not on on the field abilities or performances. It was reported Pogba had fallen below expectations in this area as well.
He is still probably in the top 3 in the world of recognizable footballers and the marketing potential that goes with that which might explain why UTD would consider paying him 500k per week.
While the signing you outline would drastically improve our team and our squad the decision made will have little to do with football on the pitch.

Probably. Big wealthy clubs can't pillage the likes of Palace and West Ham like they used to, and we'll certainly struggle to tempt Wolves to make a transfer they obviously will have no intentions of making.

The other two posts - I thought Rooney in his prime was almost World Class, and as I said earlier, he'd have my vote whereas ( back to the subject ) I can't imagine anyone putting Pogba in an all-time-best United team despite being a World Record transfer fee when he arrived.
Neither of these players are worth that money, I would hate it if United were the one linked with that transfer. You can buy 2 very good players for that fee and still have money left for Rabiot.

Shirt sales are very stable, transfers don't actually increase them. When you hear about player x selling y amount of shirt, it generally means that people printed his name instead of someone else's not that he actually added to previous sales.

Agreed. And to be honest I really don't see any trust in Man Utd at the moment, and some fans are till stuck on Fergie era. All the top four teams have evolve over the years on how they approach games and players they sort after. Replacing Pogba with who actually ? I get that he wants to leave and he will eventually, either way I really cant see us getting out of this mediocre stage for awhile. The whole team performed below par towards the end of the seasons and yet only selected few were blamed for whatever reasons and the bizarre thing is that some fans are not even thinking about if Ole can be trust in re building Man Utd, the sentiment is killing us tbh. I really don't know the way forward if we are losing our stars and relying on an average coach, and that is me been modest, to do the rebuilding work.

I think Ed is a complete idiot, but this notion that he only signs players for their marketability has been proved to be false time and time again.

We could sign both and have money leftover if we sold Pogba and could bring Rabiot in too so we could get N’Dombele, Aouar and Rabiot which is a serious upgrade on our midfield and we’d make profit so it’s highly unlikely to happen.
The reality is Pogba wants to go and I’d rather we use our strong position seeing as he has 3 years left on his contract to squeeze every penny possible out of Juve or Real (nothing under £150 million) instead of keeping him and then us watching Pogba play worse than he did last season (bar the 2 month period when we were winning) and sulk so his value drops and the team suffers as a result.
We’ve sold better players than him like Ronaldo, Beckham, Van Nistelrooy, Keane and Stam as examples and still the machine went on. Let’s face it the Pogba signing hasn’t worked like we all thought it would but there’s teams willing to pay £130-£150 million to take him and he’s desperate to leave so let’s take the money so we’ve got time to get the right replacements instead of panic buying at the end of transfer window.
Only CR7 was on Pogba's level, and it's hardly a controversial claim that his departure was the beginning of our downfall. Back then we still had some word class players left in the team, now there's only midtable fodder like McTominay, "JLingz" or "Rashy", and failures like Lukaku, Sanchez, Matic. Losing PP would be nothing short of a disaster, lets just hope he signs the new 500k/w deal. Honestly though, I wouldn't blame him for accepting a much lower contract to return to Turin. There's a difference between playing through balls to "Rashy"/"Rom", and CR7/Dybala.
