To be honest with everyone fit I don't even see Fellaini making the bench next season.

If the Benteke links are true then selling Fellaini would make sense. Target man upfront as opposed to the weird withdrawn target man.
 
I like his work rate and love his attitude. His protection of Adnan will always see me give him my full support.
Questionable technical ability but a very useful player, a tough guy in midfield.
 
It's a pity we can't send the Express to Italy instead.

one of the best players last season. Great player to have in squad for plan b, why would we sell him? He will score/set some important goals in the next couple of seasons..
 
No, I'd love for him to stay. The season will be long. We will need options. And he's a brilliant option to have plus he knowssshhh the philosophy
 
My only concerns with Marouane being in the team are:
1) If the 2 holding CM roles will be covered by carrick, blind, bastian and morgan then that leaves Herrera in the CAM/No.10 Role.
2) Mata could be used as a winger and also as a CAM/No.10.

I prefer having Herrera and Mata in our squad over Marouane. So those two settling in further and getting games is more important for me.
I don't want Marouane to be eating up the game time those two can get by being a back-up CAM/No.10

I don't want Marouane out of the team, but I don't mind losing him to avoid player congestion for a positioin.

I hope this does not hurt people's sentiments. This is what I feel the OP is also hinting at.
 
Why on earth some fans are happy with such shite news. If anything Fellaini is rather inspiring for any new joined player, he showed that there is always 2nd opportunity as long as you worked hard for it. Not too mentioned he is one of the best player during our great run beating the top clubs.
 
Yet if this post was made last year... Also find it funny how so many are happy with him playing as a plan b 10, off the striker. If this happened under moyes...

I don't want him to leave. Just funny looking back.
 
Posted it to late. Should have tried season before last. Might have got the right response.
 
If the fee was reasonable then i think that it would be sensible to sell him as he's on reportedly big wages and you could replace him with a player that excels in the number 10 role or as a striker. However, it's clear that Van Gaal likes players that can play in different positions if needed, he seems to be a big fan of versatility. It's going to be tough for Fellaini to get a chance though as much as i like the big fella. CM is pretty much a no now considering your options (Bastian, Morgan, Carrick, Herrera, Blind, Di Maria - although Di Maria may leave and Herrera plays a little further forward) and CAM is very difficult considering you have Januzaj, Mata and Herrera. Basically you'll be paying him a hefty fee to be sitting on the bench for the majority of the time in my opinion. Hope he doesn't leave though, United are the team i watch most outside of Everton and i love the guy.
 
I would not be surprised if he doesn't feature in LVG's long term plans. He was nailed on for Napoli up until he was injured and LVG wanting to work with a small squad might mean that he doesn't see a benefit in keeping him as a contingency plan.

That being said, its bad form celebrating news of him leaving given his contribution in some key wins last season. We were dismal at times last year but our fortunes changed when he (as well as mata and herrera) started to click. The fact he got on with the job despite being cast away means he is deserving of a lot of credit.

For me I would happily have him in the squad but just can't see a regular place for him with the new signings. Am glad that if nothing else he did earn the fans adulation, especially after Moyes' nightmare.
 
It would depend on the size of the offer for me. If we could get over £15m I'd probably move him on.
