Gaming PlayStation Plus

Decent month for me, both Shadow of the Tomb Raider and Greedfall are games I would've liked to check out but didn't really want to spend money on, so this is perfect. Maneater being limited to the PS5 version is pretty ridiculous though. Can I even claim that if I don't have a PS5 yet?

Yes, via the web store.

Greedfall makes it a good month for me. One of those 'am curious but not enough to pay' games. I've already played Shadow of the Tomb Raider, decent gameplay, terrible story. Will claim Maneater so I get to play it when I get a PS5 next year, just like Bugsnax.

That’s not bad. I tried to play Greedfall and found the combat really clunky which is a shame as the world seemed interesting. I could give it another go and see if I can settle into it. I am finding more and more thought that if I don’t enjoy the gameplay I can’t persist with a game like I used to.

Shadow of the Tomb Raider is supposed to be good, but I haven't played Tomb Raider since PS1

Decent month, the Tomb Raider games play ok but the story in them just feels like it's a knock off Uncharted, like those movies you see on the likes of SYFY and the Horror Channel that are blatant rip offs of bigger budget movies.

I'm going to play Maneater, and I'm going to sing Hall and Oates the entire time.

I mean Tomb Raider was around before Uncharted.

Come on mate it's the other way round!!

Decent month. Getting any next gen games is decent to be honest, happy with maneater

Might be a dumb question but.. Will I be able to download my PS4 games library to PS5? Also will I be able to plug the external HD to PS5 and play games directly from that?

Tomb Raider was like a decade before Uncharted.
I'm sure he knows that. It isn't a stretch to say that the Tomb Raider reboot trilogy has taken inspiration from the Uncharted games, while those games were in turn obviously inspired by the earlier Tomb Raider games. Both series have borrowed elements from the other.

Saying Tomb Raider was a rip-off of Uncharted is like saying Indiana Jones was a knock-off Lara Croft.

I'm obviously talking about the recent reboot of the Tomb Raider series seeing that's what's available on PS Plus. I did clarify that the story element to the new franchise was what seemed like a knock off Uncharted, in terms of plot, dialogue and acting being of lower quality.

Giving Maneater a crack. Decent but not sure I’ll play the whole thing. Depends how long it takes me to become a massive beast because I’m a little pup at the moment.

Is this tomb raider the one that starts off with the big flood?

Thought I'd give Shadow of the Tomb Raider a go. I just played the prologue or whatever that was and I almost can't believe how incredibly bad everything about it is. I didn't expect much and I'm still surprised how shite it is. I guess I might play a little bit more to see if it picks up but a quick delete seems highly likely.

I quite liked the gameplay in the recent Tomb Raiders but everything in between was dire. Took to skipping cutscenes pretty early in the second and started enjoying it a bit after finding most of it a chore.

He's right. The rebooted Tomb Raider franchise has borrowed a hell of a lot from the Uncharted franchise in its bid to modernise. Yes, the original games are old and I remember playing them when I was a kid, but with these news, they definitely feel like Uncharted lite games.

On the Ps plus games, Tomb Raider doesn't excite me at all. Didn't like Rise. If was fine for a few hours before I got bored as feck - wank story, predictable stuff, repetitive stuff. I've heard this one is more about Tombs than the action which sounds good but I doubt I'll love it.

Greedfall seems more interesting.

Quite enjoying Shadow of the Tomb Raider. Thought I might end up playing a tiny bit and deleting but I’ve really gotten into it now, and they’ve made Lara quite likeable. The story is meh but the gameplay is solid even if it borrows a lot from Uncharted.

Very happy with Concrete Genie. Already played Control on PC, nothing special but a lot of people seemed to really love it so that's a solid free title.

Nobody got motion sickness from Maneater? It was horrible for me even just by looking at the gameplay on youtube

Maneater bored the shit out of me.

Destruction: All Stars seems like it could be the next game the Caf plays together. Concrete Genie looks decent. I played Control on the PS4 and found it a bit dull.

Yeah I played for a couple hours, then the novelty of being a shark wore off and that was that.

Absolutely keen for a cafe game of all stars!

feck sake I bought Control ultimate edition in the sales ready for the next gen patch.

That's a class month!!

Surprised by the reactions here.

Aye even that concrete genie looks decent.

I didn't buy control as I felt it was gonna be like quantum break and I didn't really enoynthwy in the end. Will pick it up for free though for sure!

That's a good month, wanted to have a look at Control ages ago.

Control is a good game, a 7/10 if had to score. Concrete Genie I didnt like too much but it is ok. if you are into getting Platinums boths games are fairly handy in that respect

They've been stepping the quality up in these the last couple of months, it's a shame I don't have a PS5 yet just to claim some of these. Control is part of game pass so I don't see me bothering downloading that but it's a pretty big and recent game to be on there and I've been tempted by Concrete Genie so will definitely give that a shot (and an easy plat...)
