Gaming PlayStation 5

Only saw little clips but RE8 (or village) looks really nice and so does Horizon. Are these exclusives or will they be on PS4 too (excuse the ignorance but I just watched the game trailers and have no idea about much else :D ). Price and backwards compatibility will determine whether I get it at launch or a few years on.

It may have a bigger hard drive, but I don't think it will be more expensive considering it doesn't have a disk drive. The X-Box all-digital console is cheaper than the normal one.
 
Suspect they will have a bit more to show when they reveal the price, would make sense to anyway.

I can see why some may not like it. It's a bit of a radical design. I really like it personally. And yeah, much better than the Xbox which is kinda boring looking.
 
Can't sys there was too much that took my interest in that showcase. Went from a potential day one purchase to something I'll probably wait on until something more interesting comes along. Was waiting for that one game to really wow me.

You are correct mate. I‘ve just read a report that the digital only version will be cheaper.

Forgot they showed Gran Turismo 7 :lol: So many games on show there. It looked great. ]

I thought they really hit it out of the park in this conference. Surprised at some of the lukewarm responses on here.
 
I skipped the PS4 but think I will be getting the PS5. I missed about 15 minutes. Did they say anything about hackwards compatibility?

Oh, and I think it looks pretty great!
 
PS5 looks beautiful. Very underwhelming from the games part. Only 3 games worth it at the moment. RE, HZD2 and Spider man
 
As someone who is considering switching from Xbox, I was hoping to see a new Uncharted or God Of War game. Console itself looks cool and all but i don't really care too much about the design. I like the built mic in the controller though.

True. I loved the look of the PS4 when I first got it and now I only ever see the blue light emanating from it in a dark room.
 
Looking more and more like a pc tower. Where's the creativity? ugly design. It's been a downfall since the psx.

Rockstar must have thrown them a boatload of cash to open the show with GTAV.

I will never, ever understand the enduring popularity of that wank.

Maybe Sony have some kind of deal for GTA 6 and it was more of a courtesy type thing.
 
Saw the Spiderman trailer, looks grand and all though its not exactly something you couldn't imagine being on the PS4.
 
I know gaming ranges and targets multiple audiences, but jesus.... Just so many games that are just cartoony as hell... And then every other serious looking game is space or exaggerated monster themed. And what feck was goodbye volcano high
 
I assume GoW Uncharted etc will all be announced with trailers once Xbox do there's in July.

The digital console surely kills xbox project Lockhart before it's even released unless it's like £150-200 otherwise why pay for an underpowered not next gen digital only console if it was like £300 when surely for not much more you can get the digital ps5.

Lockhart hasn't really been announced so we don't exactly don't know what it can and can't do.
As for under powered. Define under powered. It may aim for 1080p and higher frames on most games and scrap 4k, which for a huge chunk of gamers, doesn't matter
 
Guys they not going to release their whole next gen line up in one conference. They showed plenty of games. Three of which interest most of you. Some people need to lower their expectations.

They got other studios doing work, so not everything is going to be revealed straight away. Don’t get what people expect. They can only announce what’s coming soonest. Stuff like God of War is probably 2022 or 2023. Naughty Dogs next game probably be in that time frame too.

Yep, and if they did the same people would be moaning the next time there is an event when they show the same things.
