Gaming PlayStation 5

Excellent! I’m really enjoying it so far, it’s a beautiful game.
It only gets better the more you level up and learn new abilities.

It’s also good you watched a catch up of the previous games as there’s a very nice throwback element in the latter stages which I won’t spoil.

Unlikely, but any more stock info? There were rumours of Amazon and Currys dropping some more yesterday which never materialised.

Playing god of war from the collection, how good is this game? Absolutely brilliant, and it’s stunning too, annoying that it’s 1080 60fps, but I’m over it as it looks brilliant anyway.

Also got my first platinum on Astro bot
Yeah, I'm loving it. Think I'm almost at the end of the story but there's still a lot to do afterwards.

Never played a GoW game before and it hasn't spoiled my enjoyment of it at all. Just passed a reference to something I assume happened in a previous one, but it was clear what it was about so didn't need the prior knowledge.

Edit: Story finished - what a game. Platinum is going to be a bit of a grind but I want to go for it.

How many of you have Sackboy? And if you do, is it worth the money and purchase?

Got it. But haven’t played it yet as I want to play it with a friend and online coop is going to patched in the near future.

Finished Miles Morales, which had a decent length for me after playing Yakuza for a month. No idea what I am going to play next.

Hitman 3 is out next month..

I got hold of the pulse headset finally, nothing special and a bit flimsy if you already have a decent wireless headset don't bother.

Was never really into them but Kelle and that one that Jamie Redknapp went on to marry were both fit as feck. Showing your age there, mate...
 you got jokes! Not bad...

What you playing right now? I need cafe sesh its been ages

Platinumed AstroBoy last night (such a good little game) and have already finished Demons so I guess back to MM it is. They sorted out the issues with it yet?

Anyone recommend anything else?

I'm a dick. I bought the David Attenborough 3D trilogy assuming the PS5 could play 3D blu rays like the PS4 could. What are the chances this gets added in a patch?

Saw Assassin's Creed valhalla for 38 pound and the new Watchdog for 30 in Tesco, not a bad price for next gen game.

It seems like apart from Astros the whole release has been a damp squib. I think I'll still invest in the new year but glad I didn't rush out and get one as it doesn't feel like I'm missing all that much if I'm honest.

I wouldn’t say so. The quality of life changes moving from an Og PS4 are just ridiculous. It’s quiet, loads in an instant and the UI is a big improvement. It’s also nice to have a device that can actually get the most out of my TV settup.

On top of that Spider-Man Remastered and Miles are great fun and feel pretty next gen. I’ve also only been able to play Cyberpunk due entirely to the brute power of the machine especially when you compare it to the PS4 versions. Overall I’d say it has been brilliant launch window marred by the lack of stock and scalpers.

Meh maybe we both expected different things. I think you should launch with a few really good new games. I appreciate the system upgrades are good and next gen but I genuinely don't feel like I'm missing out by waiting as it seems like there's nothing out that really takes my fancy in the games department.

Has it? Why?

Cause he couldn't get one.

That's basically it as I feel the same as I don't have one.

Not having one though has made me hold off on buying AC Valhalla which I know I would enjoy!

And I have GOW still to play through buy waiting for the ps5 to go through that aswell with better performance!

Know as soon as I get my hands on one I'll have more than enough to keep me going for a while and be like an excited child.

Great post

It's a standard console release tbh. One excellent exclusive (Demon souls), flanked by a handful of other decent exclusives (Spiderman: MM, Sackboy, Astros etc).

Ignoring the scalping issue, its been as good a console release as any. But like any other console release, there shouldn't be rush to procure one at the start. I'm pretty happy with mine, but could have easily waited in hindsight.

Exactly

But I suppose if the only game on the system that interests you is Astro's Playroom, probably best to wait. Not that it's a bad game but come on.
It's never a bad idea to wait at launch. It's not exactly a necessity. This is probably the first time I've got a console at launch....

Going from a launch PS4 it is a nice change - completely silent, very quick to load stuff, games look better for the most part... and that PS+ Collection. Really enjoying going through the games I haven't played before.

I can't get enough of Hollow Knight

Kinda sad, all that power and I'm playing a side scroller...

Easy to say when you don't have one.

Demons Souls and Astro have been as good a start to a new console as any I can remember.

I'm playing binding of isaac more than any other game. I feel similar to you that I'm wasting all that power, but then again, BOI is just such a fun challenge, I can't get enough of it

I think that's a pretty fair and well balanced response.

Pretty honest of you!

It’s spot on tbf! When a console first comes out you really don’t need it and there are teething problems that I hope get sorted out soon enough! I’m personally just loving the plus collection, it’s a great console though I’m loving it.
