Until people stop playing it online? It's still very, very popular online. People still make in game purchases too, so if it's not broken, why fix it?

Part of the problem seems to be a lack of competition in terms of really great open world, sandbox crime games. They basically own the market. I'm sure it takes a monumental amount of resources to put together something like GTA but now they are at a point where they're able to milk it for all it's worth. Not sure if many other companies will want to go up against Rockstar. Big shame as I didn't really get in to GTA5. I'm hoping they go back to hood gangsterisms ala San Andreas at some point.
I'm still trying, have pretty much given up hope until the new year now.
Still loving this machine - haven’t been so impressed with a console in a long time. After completing Astro, I’m now redoing Spider-Man Remastered before Miles Morales and oh my word is it gorgeous!! I thought performance mode would look basically the same as the PS4 version but at 60fps - wow was I wrong!
Yeh its a really well made piece of kit, from my own personal experience seems all the crashing reports and rest mode problems were well over exaggerated.
I've had mine in rest mode for a number of weeks now with zero crashes or any issues.
Yeah mines been perfectly fine and it's also just finished pre-loading Cyberpunk 
It really is great and staggering value for the price when you consider what it can do.

Week one aside I've had zero crashes, and any crashes I experienced were tied directly to using rest mode. Since the last patch I've used rest mode with no issues.
Good to see positive remarks concerning the machine though. Trying desperately to get one.
When do you guys think it will be available to buy this again? I'm reading as far away as April which would be bonkers surely?
Stock will keep showing up as it has been, but you just need to be really on the ball and also get lucky to get one. I'd say it'll be mid next year before you can go on to a site and just buy one without any hassle.

I was reading yesterday and learned that the scumbags buying them all to flip on are largely using online scripts that tell them immediately when a store has stock. Infuriating.
Think my son is going to miss out so I have prepared him for it and am gonna wait until it all cools down now unless I get lucky. I am not giving those bastard snipers any of my cash.

Since ever. It takes way too long if you just press Square to go straight into Online. And it's faster if you load into single player first and then go into online.
Are your consoles also as loud when reading discs? Mine is perfectly quite until the drive starts working, then it becomes like a vacuum. It lasts 30-60 seconds mostly but still pretty annoying when it does that.
Yep, it's such a scummy thing to do. Lots of people, myself included face being very disappointed this Christmas ... I'd been a good little boy too.
Yeah that's just the disk reader noise, nothing unusual.
Yeah same it’s completely silent until it reads a disc but it usually stops after about 20 seconds, I’m actually very impressed with how quiet the console is.
The game I'm playing most on my ps5... is binding of isaac. Thank goodness for all that graphical power I've got.
Just got a notification from Amazon that my second PS5 will be delivered tomorrow. I’m still not convinced the first one which arrived last week will arrive let alone this one tomorrow.

Im quite happy with my ps4 at the moment as I only play fifa 21 and have heard the difference in gameplay between the two consoles in quite nominal.

I don’t think you will see a price drop for a few years.
If that’s all you play you might as well get an Xbox series S. Cheapest entry into next gen, less demand and while it’s not 4K it will still look better than PS4.
I've ordered mine where I'm paying in installments. Works much better that way for me. There will probably still be considerable time before there is pricedrop.
There is no advice to give I'm afraid, there's no a lot of stock dropping and when it does, it's gone within minutes. Retailers are dropping them early hours as well, which limits the amount of people that would get one.
The price isn't going to drop for atleast a year, bare minimum imo, just because of the lack of supply to the demand. I was on shopto queue for a ps5 last week and there was 40k+ people in the same queue and they were gone within minutes.
Who's your phone provider and are you in the UK? EE were offering PS5 Disc Edition for £10 upfront and £40 a month for 11 months. My mate went for it and they were only supposed to get them 16th December, his is being delivered today.
You might see a price drop this time next year, maybe. If you want one you may as well get it as soon as cause the price ain’t dropping anytime soon. That said you’ll be very lucky to get your hands on one this year unless you buy off the scalpers which no one should ever do.
My mate who got his through the EE pre-order was supposed to get it 16th, it was delivered today.
Ahh, I was hoping my ShopTo order would be delivered before the 18th estimate too, but its still stuck at 'processing'. Oh well, at least I have Cyberpunk to tide me over.
My Amazon order was scheduled for the 16th but is due in the next hour or two. I guess the stock was released by Sony early. I reckon there will be one more stock drop before Christmas*

Yeah there's promising signs for stock, although they usually drop them at 3am which is ridiculous.
This has been an annoying recurring theme with retailers. I get that it alleviates traffic constraints on their site (at a time where they're already expecting huge numbers of customers for general Christmas shopping), but it pretty much plays directly into the hands of scalpers and their bots which are constantly active, while the rest of us would realistically be asleep.
