Spider-Man is brilliant and I like that it’s short, definitely feels like a game where 10-12 hours would feel right. I got the Ultimate edition so will play remastered original at some point too. I will move on to Watch Dogs and then Assassins Creed once I’ve finished, I tried both and visually they look stunning too. Obviously majority of my playing time will be in NBA, loving the new camera and the game feels super smooth. I tried COD as well, I still suck but I will play it every now and again.

Loading times are the biggest advantage of this generation for me so far. I have been working from home since pandemic started and often get those 10-15 minutes between meetings that I don’t really have anything to do with. On PS4/XO it was impossible to put any games on as it would have taken a few minutes to boot them up. Here it’s literally 10 seconds and you are playing. I never realized how much of a hassle those loading times were.

The pad is fantastic. Played Dirt 5 a bit and liked how they utilized it there, though I will trade the game as with Horizon 4 I don’t feel like I need any other racing games at all.

On the plus side (pun not intended) some of the DualSense features seem to work on some of the games on the PSNow system - F1 2020 being the game I came across which had it

Yes until December, when PS5 version is out.

Then those with the PS5 version cannot play people who have PS4 version.

PSA: For those who’ve had disc games uninstalling themselves Sony are aware of the issue so imagine a patch is incoming. BUT the fix is when you put a disc in don’t click ‘copy’ after a few minutes it will automatically copy over. From there on in it shouldn’t uninstall itself. I had the issue happen with all three games I installed and now I did that it hasn’t happened again.

Encountered my first bug with PS5.

Completed the final cheeve on Astros. My first plat on PS5, my first Plat ever (I usually finish the story and log out, never really chased one before but I loved Astro) and the game crashed so the system didn't save a video or screenshot. Feels bad.

Totally agree. I expected to spend my first day with a PS5 playing Spiderman. Instead I spent the day 100% completing Astro.

And the DualSense really is a bit special. My partner isn't a gamer but she ended up playing a lot of Astro today, in large part due to DualSense.

I still have nightmares about Sixaxis controls on PS3, but in Astro everything from blowing on the microphone, to using the controller to guide the rocket/frog suits was a delight.

She was very disappointed when she found out most games won't use DualSense like Astro does. I know better than to expert support from the likes of EA, but hopefully first party games will continue to make good use of this impressive tech

It really is quality. I too was expecting to be playing Spider-Man MM on day 1 but I’ve been playing Astro’s pretty much non-stop since receiving the console on Thursday.

Will definitely be giving Spider-Man MM & Demon’s Souls a go tomorrow just to make a change.

Yep, I hope the developers really do utilise this controller to its full potential as it really is something special.

Their website seemed a bit dodgy at times, I wonder if it's accepted 1000's of extra orders and they've not bothered to actually allocate them, then when time for delivery whoever missed out was the unlucky ones.

Add that to the reports ones going missing in the factory or out for delivery, it's not a great look. Feel very frustrated for you guys right now!

Seems to me that they gave your stock to someone else and they've realised only when they ran out of PS5s to package up.

In terms of downloads, was downloading FFXV and Persona 5. Download was interrupted and now they won’t download. Get an error for Persona, and FFXV just downloads to the same point it was upto then gives an error message. In no rush to play them, but I’m assuming this can be fixed through a patch later down the line?

A bit of a long winded approach but could you not DL them on the PS4 and transfer them over? or can you only play the PS+ collection on the PS5?

I’ve already sold my PS4 as I say it’s no major issue as I have no rush to play them, but just a tad annoying.

Not had any issues with rest mode, but I’m tending to just turn it off completely as it’s so quick to power up and boot a game up.

Few teething problems as you say which is annoying but hopefully Sony patch these up soon.

Not had any issues so far my end, it’s been a dream.

having spent a full week with the Series X, I am enjoying this experience so much more. It feels like a next gen machine, the controller is truly revolutionary, the UI far prettier (although some stuff is in weird places, same as Xbox really) and there are actually good, new titles to play. Building in a game like Astro as a tech demo was so smart by Sony - It’s a brilliant little platformer

by comparison the Series X is just....boring. No lights to make it look cool in the dark, slight iteration on the controller, same with the UI. No games....I guess there’s the “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” way of thinking but I dunno...for £450 after 7 years..I wanted to be wowed!

Hi buddy, I share your pain!

I preordered from Amazon back in September at 9AM. Was dispatched for delivery and on a van 'out for delivery' at 10.46AM Thursday. At 9PM it was delayed and then by 9.30PM it was marked as lost and stolen! Amazon said as they don't have more stock (despite releases more units to the public that day) they can only cancel and refund my order with a £5 goodwill gesture. I had never lost it with a customer service advisor until that day... Appalling service.

By seeing how many are appearing on market place with no receipt or proof or purchase when you ask, it is quite clear delivery drivers have seen an opportunity to cash in. If you say you got jumped towards the end of the day and 6 or so units went missing how can they prove it isn't the case. Assholes.

As for me, I've managed to get one for a not so stupid price. Great fun so far and in a year that has been so awful this was to be expected.
