How are you meant to contact ShopTo? I called but everyone is at home, so I started a ticket but it's been seven days without response, and I've had similar luck using their fb messenger or on-site live chat. No actual response that isn't automated.

There's a guy answering twitter questions but he can't talk about account specific stuff, so..... What gives?

What's the worry?

What's the worry?

Just the communicative issues. Game, Smyths and every other service is protectively emailing their customers with assurances or informing them on what to expect this week in terms of updates, but ShopTo are just a brick wall until an actually invoice is generated and sent to your email.

I wouldn't worry about shopto, i've got loads of consoles on release with them, stop the panic and just wait one of the few retailers i'd be 100% confident with.

That's reassuring. Thanks!

By the way, what's with the US delivery companies? It's common practice to leave big boxes (especially during known console release periods) on the front doorstep of houses and walk away to the next delivery? From what I have read half the couriers don't even knock on the door. The amount of porch piracy is insane.

Can anyone recommend an external HDD I can buy to save all my PS4 games onto and have plugged into the ps5?

I'm getting mine from Smyths but it hasn't dispatched yet. I'm hopeful of getting it before Thursday though if other people are getting theirs today.

Smyths are the best in Ireland for games, in my opinion. They always sell new releases for €5-10 cheaper than Gamestop.

It used to fecking baffle me how Gamestop in Cork was so successful when Smyths was 30 seconds away and selling games cheaper.

I wouldn't be surprised if deliveries start to trickle though over the next few days. My Very order hasn't progressed at all though. Still worried that the Cyberpunk order I placed alongside it is somehow going delay my console.

Trade-ins. Gamestop basically survive on trade ins.

coolest still PS2 by far
Yeah, that and PS4. Ps5 is a bit ugly to be honest, and its massive and heavy. Runs like a gem and the controller is the best thing about it, though feel like the battery is the same as the DS4 where you gotta charge it every day.

In fairness, 4-8 hours (closer to the latter) whilst running adaptive trigger and haptic feedback features is a compliment if anything. A non-reduction of battery life with those improvements?

Also on team Very this week, I'm not expecting any update until tomorrow earliest but we live in hope.

Yeah that sounds about right. Makes sense I guess with how crazy the controller is. Definitely miss the days of not having to charge constantly though!

Thoughts on the controller, is it worth an upgrade from DS4 on it's own? I'm on PC so won't getting a PS5 for a year or two yet but my DS4 is coming towards the end of its lifespan.

The controller is insanely good. Probably the most impressive piece of technology I've held in a long time.

I'm religiously checking mine.

Does yours still say delivery on or before the 19th?

Haha well I can't pretend it won't be me by Wednesday.

Mine says delivery by the 19th, pretty certain it will come direct from their supplier too. Heard good things about their pre-orders in the past, apparently they are great.

It'll be interesting to see if studios can patch the full functionality of the PS5 controller into PC games going forward. Can't see why they wouldn't be able to.

Surely the answer to that is "Sony". Not sure why they'd let their trademark PS5 feature be used anywhere else. I'm sure there will be PC compatible controllers out there in the next few years that can do it, though, if it turns out to be a popular feature.

That's true, although it'd be a great way for Sony to earn some revenue off of the people who are ardent PC gamers and who were never going to buy a console to begin with.

Literally the same exact issue today, there is no way to speak to anyone on there about anything useful, created a ticket a week ago, no response, the PS5 dispatch email they sent me contains part of my old address mixed in with my new address and shitting it for thursday, it's 50/50 on what address the DPD driver decides to go to, hoping i can somehow message him when i get the DPD tracking email :nervous:

Oh god. Your dilemma way outstretches mine. Mine's just a query out of undue panic. Yours is entirely justified.

Amazon confirming I’ll get my console on Thursday :)
