Gaming PlayStation 5

I have my system now (hopefully) and grabbed an amazon preorder for the headset and charging down yesterday morning. But I haven't actually ordered a single game

I definitely want Spiderman (im not fussed on the edition with Spiderman PS4, I have already played that) I would quite like sackboy but I will wait for a sale on that one. Hopefully Ratchet and Clank will come out not long after launch, I absolutely love that series, the PS4 game was among my favourite games of the whole generation and the new one looks fantastic.

A few PS5 games have now started to appear on Amazon, but still no sign of Spiderman.

Any of you folks picking up a second controller? Or is one enough?
I got a second controller, it’s nice to have the option. Me and my housemate like the odd game of Fifa together and I can play the odd game with my girlfriend.

Did you get the text with the order no in it?

I didn't get a confirmation email, but got the text.

I'm not convinced on it as much as @Tiber and I guess I'm waiting for the cancellation more than believing this is the end of it.

Interested to see if you were in the same boat.

I just spoke to Argos live chat (nearly timed out, I was playing CK3 and forgot I even had it open in a tab!) they said my order is 100% confirmed and they are only taking orders for their guaranteed quota.

They said they expect the orders to be shipped directly by Sony via Royal Mail, they aren't even coming to Argos which is why in store collection wasn't an option. Thought that was interesting.

Do not like the sounds of the bottom bit @esmufc07.

If you buy 3 or 4 games a year then digital perfect for you. How’s your download speed?
It's wired into virgin fibre optic so its relatively fast. Assuming the ps5 has an ethernet port then yeah I think il be fine on digital!

The PS4 has Ethernet so you’ll be safe on that one.

Ordered one from Argos at the same time as the machine, funnily enough.

Haven't even looked at games yet!

Ah that's grand! Congrats! I think I'm in the exact same boat as you (same text), so I'm a bit more reassured now.

Moment of silence for those working in customer services today. Had a decent chat with the guy at box, he sounded like he was ready to sack it all off.

Mine's been processing for about 12 hours. The fact that it hasn't disappeared from my orders gives me a slither of optimism. At one point I was watching YouTube gameplay vids comforted by the fact that it appeared to be a formality...now it's squeaky bum time wondering if Argos are going to shaft me.

Ask the live chat to check for you if it's still open

Sony butchered the PS3 launch, but I'll say this - at least they had games that you couldn't play on PS2.

i.e. I can't imagine Resistance or Motorstorm running on PS2.

Just goes to show - maybe exclusives aren't *that* important

Yea but the gap between the tech in the ps2 and ps3 was absurd. Nowadays its just moving up from a low range PC to a mid range one.

Resistance and Motorstorm was actually a world class line up for launch day. Never been anything close to that before or after.

Christ got me thinking on the PS4 launch and that turd of a Killzone game

I remember playing Motorstorm and being amazed that mud would splatter on the camera

If motorstorm (the first motorstorm) had split screen I'd have loved it. As it was I got very bored not being able to play with mates.

Unless they had a PS3. At their house.

People spoiling the ebay auctions  There's some now going for £2000 each with many days left. Others for £1000+.

Other than like Timesplitters - theres never been a great PS (2 onwards) launch title. And why should there be - the launch is the incentive. It's like Disney releasing Star Wars and Avengers at the same time.
