Gaming PlayStation 4 (Console)

For £150 I guess you could pick up in a store the following - FIFA15 or PES15 depending on which one you like more (£25 to £30), GTA V (£30), FarCry 4 (£25), Dragon Age (£30), DriveClub (£20), AC Black Flag (£10), Tomb Raider (£10). That's hundreds of gaming hours. Alternatively swap something for Dying Light.

Already have GTA, Tomb Raider, Black flag, and Driveclub. Do need FC 4 and Dragon age though. Think I'm waiting for Dragon age till the novelty of heists in GTA V wears off.

I should probably go see someone about it.

Yeah I only picked Fifa up because my mates always want me to play online with them. I know the physical copy was cheaper, but I'm awful for changing discs, can't remember the last time I didn't have GTA in the ps4. Disc changing is a hard task for me  Yeah I usually wait for the sales tbh, but had a few extra quid this week, The golf club was in the sale, and lords of the fallen.

I think I have AC Unity, Shadow of Mordor, and the last of us to finish still. Oh driveclub too, struggling to keep interested in that though. Dragon age is something I should have picked up the other week when it was £35 on the store.
FFS. You're the worst person ever.

I spent €69.99 on the fifa 15 "deluxe edition". Came with €22 worth of fifa fut points. I fecking hate fut. Absolute wank players in the packs. Be a pro is decent every so often although its full spastics with afros trying to run the pitch over and over again.

Its better than '14 but its still way to fast. There is no weight to the game at all. If pes had a functional online presence id be up 70 blips.

Disc changing is hard? We turning into the lazy gen here.

I'd hate going all digital. I did buy dying light for £12 a month or so go when GameStop were giving the full game instead of season pass. Killzone for £1, when Sony screwed up. Only full retail next gen games out of like 40 I have on all three consoles without pricing errors are DRIVECLUB, Windwaker HD(came with console) and got Fifa 14 free with xbox one.

I just don't see the benefits at the moment of going digital. Atleast with Steam the games are cheaper and they have really good sales. When Sony and MS decide to make digital games cheaper than physical I might start taking notice. £60 for a new game, when I could get it for £35 is a rip off.

I did buy Helldivers due to the rave reviews it has been getting.

I'll go digital on certain games when the prices are right, but they very rarely are when not in sales. I guess its because I'm older now but I have the patience of a saint for waiting on price drops, that and far too many games to play already. That being said I'm jumping all over Hotline Miami 2 when it releases tomorrow.......if it releases tomorrow in Europe.

Killzone Shadowfall for like 86p was a great deal though, I managed to jump on that too.

I buy digital games when they are on sale, much easier than going to the store and picking up physical copies but I almost never buy them at full price for home consoles. Different case for handhelds where I prefer not to carry anything other than a console with me (due to system limitations I go for physical on 3DS though). I have Alien, DriveClub, MLB (not available physical in Poland anyway), all Plus titles, Tomb Raider and a few more digital on PS4, all EA Access titles, Sunset Overdrive and Titanfall digital on Xbox One and insane amount of digital bargains and PS Plus titles on PS3 (about 80 I think, I will never finish vast majority of them). I think I might have bought no more than three games at full price for home consoles though, I can only recall DriveClub and MLB.

I am a sucker for bargains. I will buy these 75% off games/books/music thinking I will make use of them in the future even though most of the time I never will.

Not a fan at all if going all digital. Plus I like to trade in my games when I'm done with them

Although I spent quite a bit in the store so far this year all on discounted stuff

Digital downloads are a joke on consoles. Aside from the free games and the very occasional good deal they are a rip off.

Maybe I'm spoilt also being a PC gamer with Steam sales and Humble Bundles. If Sony did a big Steam-esque once a year they'd clean up.

I buy digital with a friend because we don't usually trade games in and mostly play online, so we take advantage of the whole primary account thing that allows you to download your stuff on two consoles. The prices are shit(50-60£?) but it works out cheaper than us buying two physical copies at launch(£80-100?). If you're buying the same games and connected to the internet then you can save quite a bit. Not being able to trade games in and not being able to play games when psn goes down are the only real problems.

The only digital games I have that are available on docs are trials fusion and Minecraft, only because they are games I knew I'd like to jump in and out of every now and again. And they don't take up much space on the hard drive

Anyone recommend picking up that new Devil May Cry Definitive Edition? I never played the original and was a big fan of the first one back in the day.

It's not very occasional anymore. For example today you can grab Red Dead and LA Noire for a fiver - I've jumped on both, very good games (in case of RDR excellent).

They're PS3 games and those offers are no where near the kind of reductions you find on Steam.

Update 2.50

While developing the PlayStation 4 system, our hardware and software teams relied on feedback from our community of developers. The result is the most innovative and forward-thinking gaming console in the market today. Since launch, PlayStation has continued that trend of listening to feedback by bringing some of the most highly requested features from the PlayStation Nation to PS4 with each of our system software updates. When we unveiled PS4 two years ago, we announced Suspend/Resume, a feature that would enable PS4 users to jump in and out of their games faster than ever. This has been a feature gamers have been excited about since then, and today I am honored to officially confirm that system software update 2.50, “Yukimura,” will soon deliver Suspend/Resume, as well as a number of other requested features to PS4.

Suspend/Resume, which will be supported by nearly all PS4 titles, will create an atmosphere where your games are immediately available at any time — just pick up your DualShock 4 wireless controller, hit the PS button and get right back into the action of your games. When it’s time to log off, simply put your PS4 in Rest Mode and when you power up the next time, you’ll start your game where you left off. Spend less time getting into your games and more time playing them.

Here are some of the other highly requested new features and changes coming soon in “Yukimura:”

Sub-account to Master account Upgrade: Users with a sub-account will now be able to upgrade to a master account directly from their PS4 when they turn 18, removing restrictions for chat, enabling users to fund their own wallet, make purchases and more. Currently, users can upgrade their sub-accounts online at https://account.sonyentertainmentnetwork.com/.

Facebook Friend Search: Gamers globally have jumped into PS4 as a redefined social gaming experience and connecting with friends over the network is a huge part of what makes the PS4 community so special. PlayStation now lets you go even bigger by connecting with your Facebook friends on PS4 using your linked account. Search for Facebook friends who are PlayStation Network members and build on the foundation of Friends you already have in your list.

Remote Play & Share Play at 60 fps: For games that support 60 fps, the ability to customize the frame rate of Remote Play and Share Play will be added with “Yukimura.” Play to your bandwidth strengths and use this option to stream gameplay at 60 or 30 fps when using Remote Play or Share Play on supported devices.

Accessibility Options: “Yukimura” introduces a wide variety of options to make their PS4 entertainment experience even more accessible. Options include text to speech, enlarged text, bolder fonts, higher contrast UI, zoom for displayed pictures, invert colors on screen and more. Users will also be able to reassign buttons for DualShock 4, making it easier for users with limited manual dexterity or limited reach and strength to play.

Trophy Improvements: We have received a ton of feedback to improve Trophies. In “Yukimura,” a screenshot will automatically be captured at the moment a Trophy is earned, making it easier than ever for you to share your greatest gaming moments with your friends. We’re also adding more sorting options along with the new ability to remove games from the Trophy list that have 0% completion.

Share Video Clips to Dailymotion: When sharing standout PS4 moments via the Share button on DualShock 4, “Yukimura” will allow players to upload directly to Dailymotion.

Stay tuned for more information on “Yukimura” and, as always, let us know in the comments how we can continue to improve PS4 to make it the best place to play.

Like the look of some of them just wish they'd improve the sorting of the games as currently all the games are just mixed up on the home screen.

Yeah but on PS4 you still get Sleeping Dogs for a tenner this week, before there were Dragon Age, Tomb Raider, Last of Us Remastered and a few other for low-ish prices. Basically everything that's over three months old has already been on sale.

In terms of sales on console then I agree they are good reductions, but taking Sleeping Dogs and Dragon Age as examples, they will receive much bigger reductions in future Steam/Origin sales. That's my point, console gamers think having a game that is over a year old reduced to around £20 is a good deal, they'd be closer to £5 on PC.

When console manufacturers start offering decent savings on digital downloads I'll be more inclined to make more purchases online, when they charge more or worse case the same as a retail copy there is no benefit.

Why would I pay £60 for a digital download on my PS4 when the retail release is closer to 40 and then I can trade in if I wish? New releases in Steam are usually around £35 which I feel is reasonable for new release without a physical copy.

Laziness, digital means no disc changes

Two things they should sort out which would take absolutely zero effort from them is to enable media playback from external HDD and bring out a goddam DVD remote.

I read somewhere the other day they are now working on DLNA support, Friend Notifications, Customised folders, MP3 to HD for the next big update.

Titanfall 2 confirmed to be multi platform. Will any playstation only users be interested in it?

Has anyone ever had to reset their PSN password before, but don't know what DOB they entered when they made the account? Can this even be done?

I just called the most useless, annoying idiot ever at Sony. I called at 6.58pm (without knowing they close at 7pm, so this presumably explains his lack of help) who basically just said nothing, so I could try that again in the morning. But for now, has anyone had to do this?

Iv reset my password several times, but iv never actually managed to forget my DOB.

I can only guess that because I was under 18 at the time I just put in any old date so that I could create the account.

Would you not have put in your DOB, but just changed the year? or good old 01/01/xx, then, it would be knowing when you originally signed up/how old you were when sign up.

Tried both down to 1970, no luck :(

So I've got most ps+ games thoigh seems there was a few months I was too lazy to purchase them on the site which I'm now regretting. Also got Killzone and TLOU.

Not sure what else to get. Definitely Infamous, but do I wait for a deal where it's £20 again or jump on it at a higher price?

Will prob get PES as it's the only multi plat game where the performance seemed real bad on Xbone in comparison to PS4 so I skipped it.

Do I get Driveclub for £20 digital? I played it recently at a mates and still didn't 'get'it.the handling model felt terrible but maybe it was just me trying to play it like other racers. I remember going to the first Forza Horizon demo from a NFS game and trying to outside drift everything. I went back to it later and loved the game.

Infamous for sure. It was a very good game IMO. Killzone is okish but very much a 6/10 game

If you ever see the Order for cut price snap it up. But it's worth no more than 20 quid

I've just started Grim Fandango (never played it before) I like it a lot from what I've seen early doors. Resogun is well worth the purchase too

Apart from that it's always been multiplats. There is nothing between the two consoles and as you know the bone so far has the edge on exclusives

What I thought but maybe hoped there'd be something I missed. I know a few here are fans of MLB even despite hating/lacking interest in baseball. That's something I'd consider but they don't have a demo which seems a little odd for a sports game.

You played DriveClub Randy? Thoughts?

Yeah.. exclusive wise I must admit I'm a little worried after Uncharted was delayed since I still expect to buy most multiplats for Xbox. Cant wait to see what they show off at E3.
