Gaming PlayStation 4 (Console)

I read recently it was initially supposed to be 60fps but it had to be scaled back. With graphics like that it is hard to complain though!

I as far as I know it was decided a long long time ago that it would be 30fps. It really doesn't affect it all that much either if I'm honest.

As for P.T. That shit is scary. I hate horror games but would love to be 'able' to play them. I'm such a wuss :(

It's not a sim racer, 30fps is fine.

Yeah I was going to pull that up but I couldn't be bothered. Obviously given the choice 60fps would have been ideal... Sim, Arcade or Kart racer...

DriveClub is going to be great, it's definitely high up my list of games I'm definitely going to get before the end of year and I'm 99% certain I'll get it day one (well I'll get most of them day one to be fair). Up there with Destiny, FIFA15 and new Assassins Creed as well as GTAV and Far Cry 4 as my most anticipated game of the rest of year.

obviously 60fps is ideal but 30fps should be more than adequate.

Had a browse through PSN there and just realised how far the PS4 has already come since release. There's some great titles available and Indie games galore. I'm really looking forward to this consoles future.

Not had a look recently, I am guessing pricing for proper games on there is still ridiculous?

Just completed Tomb Raider about 5 minutes ago, brilliant game. I want MORE! I purposely took time completing it as I knew the story would come to an end :( Going to play through it again soon and get the missing trophies. Feck, I hate online trophies.

Completed it the other night as well. Really enjoyable game.

Shame the next one is only on xbone if I recall correctly.

Not purchasing a game until the wave of new titles hit us.

Might delve into watch dogs. What's the verdict on that? I've heard mixed reviews

I think Watch Dogs is shit, it's the only game in my PS4 that I haven't completed. I turn it on and try to finish it but get instantly bored and turn it off, the driving is pretty bad and I hate the UI while the story doesn't seem that interesting either.

I thought Infamous was the much better game, I preferred the setting and the gameplay, I log on sometimes and just mess around with the different powers it's a fun game, it looks a lot better as well imo.

The next Tomb Raider game is just timed exclusive on the Xbox so we should see it on PS4 after. What games have you played so far? Watchdogs is merely an ok game but that's about it as good as it gets, there's definitley better ones out there if you haven't played many games so far.

Ah I see.

I've played Tomb Raider and Battlefield 4. That is pretty much it. Nothing else really excited me. I had just played Fifa 14 and GTA5 on the PS3 before getting the PS4.

What would you suggest?

FIFA14 on PS4 is a completely different game but it'd be pointless to get it now when you have 15 coming in 4 weeks.

I enjoyed Watch Dogs.
Me too. It wasn't perfect but an all right game, looked absolutely gorgeous in dusk and night, also pretty good in early morning - poor during the day IMO. I love city's design, it feels very alive with plenty stuff to do, I still find myself coming back to it after completing it 2 months ago.

Funnily it's the opposite way for me. I finished Watch Dogs in a week and still come back to it, I got inFamous at launch and still have not completed it (I have moved closer recently though so a 2-hour session now will probably do it). I find it a bit bland, combat is about mashing buttons as quick as possible for me and the story feels very secondary. Technically it's great, runs smoothly with gorgeous graphics.

I got Diablo 3 this week and was gifted Wolfenstein for my name's day so I'll probably spend a very decent amount of time with my console next week.

Infamous was a huge disappointment. Looks great, but extremely repetitive and very short.

Definitley The Last of Us then, I'd say thats an absolute must for any person new to Playstation or hasn't played it yet. I thought Infamous Second Son was pretty good (definitley better than Watchdogs for me) and probably the most impressive game graphically out there at the moment. It would probably be quite short if you just blast your way through the storyline, I didnt find the side quests too much of a chore so I got a decent 12-13 hours gameplay out of it and Assasins Creed Black Flag is a return to form from the last one if you like those games and theres tons to do in it.

I enjoyed Watch Dogs.

Yeah I enjoyed it too, it was just a good game to me but nothing more. I just didnt feel that urge to jump in play it every night or to do many side quests, maybe the main character was a bit too much of a sullen boring tit to me or something, I got big Connor from Asssassins Creed 3 vibes from Aiden.

I now had to delete some stuff from my HDD because it wouldn't allow me to play Diablo 3. 500 GB was really not enough, I can't be bothered swapping it for a new hard drive so I'll just keep deleting and installing stuff since I mostly own retail games and they take about 5 minutes each to install sufficient amount for you to play. It'd be a chore if I were to buy games digitally primarly, I believe I'd need at least 2 TB for it to make sense - otherwise I'd have to re-download 20GB, 42GB, 50GB of stuff over and over again.

Anyone getting Metro Redux next week? I am. I have Last Light from Plus on my PS3 but I'd like to play 2033 first and they both look and run far better on a PS4. Also, the fact that they will be significantly below standard release price (€30 for the two here) plays a part, it's basically €15 a game. It looks extremely good, I love the atmosphere of trailers.

@Sarni, I get the impression that you buy every game that gets released pretty much on day one... but you keep calling yourself a casual gamer. That's not casual by any definition...

Your game collection must be daunting...

I play a lot in my spare time but to be fair I do get plenty of games day one and then not complete them for weeks or even months. I like them sitting on my shelf.

I used to have a big collection of PS2 games but sold most, I still have PS2 in one of the rooms but I barely use it. On PS3 I got mostly digital games - around 60-70 of them I think, half of them were PS+ freebies and half were bought on various sales. I have about 10-15 retail copies too.

I got most of the retail stuff that's come out on PS4. I'm yet to buy Thief (had it but sold it), Tomb Raider and Lego Marvel and that'll be about it in terms of games that have already been released and aren't crap. This time I've completed most of this stuff or got plenty of playing time out of it though.

I have pretty much 90% of full titles and most indies that have been released on a Vita, all of them digital because it's way more convenient that way. Same case with 3DS - got pretty much all there's interesting, this time all in hard copies.

I don't think I've completed more than 50% of games that I own though, perhaps significantly less than that - especially my PS3 backlog is huge because I'd start PS+ games and not finish them and buy plenty of stuff for €4 or €5 when they were on sale.

Casual might not be a good word for it, I just play games for gaming experience and don't go into details of technicalities.

Too many new games on the horizon for me to consider remastered last gen games.

Well I've counted about 10 games that I need to buy until the end of year - Destiny, FIFA, DriveClub, Dragon Age, Project CARS (is it even coming out this year), Far Cry, GTA and Assassins Creed are absolute musts and I believe I have missed something on that list.

Project Cars should be coming out November, you can pre-order it for £40 on Gamestop UK which is probably a decent deal given the price of most pre-orders.

Don't think they deliver to Poland though, I'll probably pick it up from the shelf for a similar price here. This is exactly the price I paid for Diablo 3.

Will have to buy a wheel for DriveClub and Project Cars then.

Looks like Logitech and Sony are in a never ending loop of deciding who's job it is to add driver support to their wheels, so I'll probably be in the market for a cheap PS4 wheel around that time too.

I was hoping my Driving Force GT could be used for something more than Gran Turismo but it seems like it's not going to happen.

Ya I heard the Logitech wheels won't be compatible with Driveclub. Very strange if true.

When you guys find one let me know, I'd like one that is PS4/3 & XB360/1 compatible but I'll settle for one that is PS4/XB1 compatible...
