Roy Carroll and Tim Howard come to mind. Genuinely thought Tim Howard played for Everton his whole career and had to find a picture of him in our kit to be sure.
That guy Ronaldo who played for Real and Juve hopefully.

Remembered him. I think it was LvG that played him. he never really had a stint. It was more of an acaDEMY player that came in for an injured player. Never a squad player
Rememebr him being described as "mini Drogba" when we signed him........ That aged well.

Unlikely that any of those things ever happened considering he is from Uruguay. We did loan him to Real Madrid Castilla. I think he is currently playing in Brazil with Flamengo.
He was such a waste of a signing, but I think he scored a cracking goal for us in the youth level once.

I think it can be age related too. I will never forget Lee Martin for that cup final goal.
