Robben is still a monster when healthy - which he is at the moment - and one of, if not the most dangerous player at Bayern. He will stay there btw, the only question is, if it's on a one or two year deal.

Pepe would be excellent on a free. He's one hell of a defender despite all his flaws. We need a bit of a cnut in our team as well.
All those advocating Evra - have a word with yourself. Pointless nostalgia gets us nowhere. He was pretty poor in his last 2/3 seasons with us. Great he's doing well again at Juventus, although clearly not well enough to justify another contract.

Didn't know Tuanzebes contract is running down, we should definitely be looking to renew with him first and foremost.
Other than that, Axel Witsel might be worth taking a punt on. Has been a long time since I watched him play, but seem to remember he's fairly good with the ball and has an eye for a pass. Possibly a Carrick replacement?
Even when he's out of contract, West Brom will find someway to deny him a transfer away.

Let's take Lucas and loan him out to Everton just to feck with the Scousers.
Witsel, Cazorla, Robben and Taison stand out to me. Exactly the players we need position wise.

Witsel will probably sign for Juventus in January after his failed transfer in the summer.

I didn't spot Taison first time around, he's looked a tidy player whenever I've seen him play.

Should be all over Robben, after seeing him recently he's still world class and hasn't lost much pace if any at all IMHO.
I'd take a punt on Robben but that's about it. It could work out brilliantly for a couple of seasons. At worst, it doesn't work and we play our other attackers instead.
If we can't procure a Carrick replacement in the summer market (eg. Weigl will not move before the 2018 World Cup at the earliest), then someone like Motta would be a top addition to the squad on a one year deal - as a plug and play relief given their similar deep midfield skillsets.
That's almost exactly how Carrick plays as a holder - in terms of metronome passing ability, cleverly intercepting the ball instead of needlessly lunging into reckless tackles, and shielding the back 4. Plus, he's reportedly missed only 15 games with injury issues over the last 3+ seasons.

Arsenal supposedly have an option to extend Cazorla's contract, if we don't it's likely his achilles is in a pretty bad way.

Good shout with Motta. I think De Rossi, Alonso, Robben, Zabaleta/Clichy, Evra and even someone like Berahino as a option off the bench would all be decent punts. We could really beef up that squad with some proper experience and decent rotation options.. letting go of some serious dross and getting in guys like these lot, would just make the squad healthier.
Watched Alonso the other day and he still looks in fine fettle, but just needs to be used sparingly and as for Robben, he's still much better than your average wideman and ahead of guys like Rashford/Martial.
