yes but our best passage of play was in the second half..where our team narrowed the midfield... which would not have been possible in a conventional 4-4-2..

the only person who's struggling in this formation, is Ruud... He didn't have any one on ones yesterday... and thats where he's at his deadliest.


anyway, we should've won yesterday with this formation.. Chelsea didn't have answer to our attacking play.. pity we gave away the ball too often ;)
 
Both systems have thier advantages. We should be playing 442 against clubs we know we can beat while playing 451 against more attacking teams like Chelsea and Arsenal imo. End of story. :)

When you get so much of the ball you're going to give it away on 1 or 2 occasions, even Kean did that. I didn't even know Giggs was playing until he scored, he was missing for most of the game.

Agreed.

And it's down to the players whatever system we play.

How come Real Madrid haven't abandoned their 4-4-2 in Europe because other teams have sussed them??
