Barthez (5): Made some very serious mistake in early season and directly lost us matches. Have improved in the latter period, but still not to his standard in last season. Watched the home match against Arsenal, and he once again kicked a back pass directly to the foot of an Arsenal player. We should start to look for replacement. It seems cruel to him -- but honestly, the goalie is a position you need absolute reliability. Anything other than that is unacceptable.

He wasn't the only responsible for the loss of some games, where we couldn't score. We were outplayed in some occasions and didn't deserve to win. He had kept us in the game vs Arsenal for 80 minutes. The La Coruna game doesn't count in the final result, as we eventually reached the second tour. And he was excellent in some recent games, including La Coruna or Chelsea.

Last Wednesday, he was given a dangerous pass by a defender, and BTW he was furious. It's too easy to always blame the keeper.

As for his laspes in concentration, he does have some excuses, having some serious problems, including his mother's illness. Ferguson has helped him to put his problems in a corner of his brain when he was on the pitch, successfully. Remember, players are only human beings.

He won't have two years in a row like that, it's impossible.

I've also heard about his personal problem. Hope he can take care of them and return to the standard he should be. Otherwise we surely don't want to place an explosive in front of our own net.

He's the second best keeper in the league.

Carroll - 7
Better sub than Van De Geow

Phil - 6.25
Above average at his standards. Maybe because he didn't get to play too often?

Gaz - 7.25
Dependable..but prone to odd GLARING mistakes

Blanc - 7
Lousy first half of the season but performed generally well after February

Ronny - 6.5
No comment.

Micky - 6.75
Good at going forward, slow at turning back. Still needs to improve on his core duty--defending

Denis - 6.75
He's been a excellent servant, but the speed is no longer there..

Wes
No comment

Becks - 7.0
Sometimes he's magical, sometimes he ran like a headless chicken. Whatever, not worth his new contract.

Scholes - 7.5
Improved for the last quarter of the season..but not the same Scholes we know.

Seba - 7.5
I like him.

Butt - 7.75
Almost as good as Gerrard..almost.

Giggs - 7.75
As inspirational as ever

Keano - 8.25
Best player..again.

Ruud - 8.0
I may be asking too much. Faded a little in the last few games.

Ole - 8.25
Finally got rid of the super sub tag.

Forlan - 6.75
Someone with poor finish should never play as striker.

Do you really think that veron and scholes were better than becks and that ole was better than Ruud?
One of us don`t understand this game. <img src="confused.gif" border="0">

This is mine ratings and I don't have to explain for it, but anyway..

Ruud scored more goals, but I feel that Ole's goals are more important proportionally. Underneath all the glamour and British tabloids hoo-haa, I find Becks not as extraordinary as his new contract should reflect. I never had high hopes on Veron's first season here despite his hefty price, because unlike Dutch or Scandinavian players, how many successful Argentinian we have in the English football in recent years? All in all, players are not measured in their true capabilities, but the level surprise and disappointment they bring.

So because you thought veron would be poor and you were right you gave him a high rating?
Don`t understand this logic.
But anyway as you said it`your rating so you don`t have to explain.

For the record, on all round play for most of the season, Ole led Ruud by a mile in the Opta stats.

I don't know how it finished.
