It's a shame all the venues are in England, would've been good experience if it was mixed.
I'm very interested to see how we fare against a technical team.
Hopefully we'll freshen things up a bit.Can see Hamilton starting.
No idea about the current team but they won this cup last year.Any idea about how good Villarreal are?
Why isn't it?
No love for Poole and Johnstone?i wish this was a U18 competition because our U23 are poor and boring this year....Harrop, Tuanzebe and 10 average joe's
Bench once again more exciting then first 11....
According to Twitter, 'According to #mutv Willock will play up front with McTominay in a defensive midfield role.'Willock up top or back to McTominay do we think?
Johnstone, El Fitouri, Tuanzebe, Poole, Riley, Scott, Redmond, Willock, McTominay, Harrop, Hamilton
Subs - Henderson, Olosunde, O’Connor, Kehinde, Doughty, Mitchell
First start for Hamilton and O'Connor rewarded for a brilliant start at the club
Yes, turned 16 over the summer. If I'm not wrong O'Connor is just 16 year old isn't it?
Cheers, yeah expected that after Willock playing there last match and McTominay has been playing defensive mid lately too.According to Twitter, 'According to #mutv Willock will play up front with McTominay in a defensive midfield role.'

Technically u23 but basically all players are 18-20. He has been good for the u18s and is Ireland's u17 captain so if he is good enough he is old enough.Thanks. Isn't he too young to play these games? Assuming this is for U23.

Might get the odd appearance or two but unlikely he'll play that much this season, maybe more towards the end of the season. Impossible to predict though really, the u23s RB currently is El-Fitouri so there is an opening there and he can play in midfield or CB too so he is versatile enough to take any opening. I guess if he continues to settle and impress for the u18s there is no reason we won't see him for the u23s this season. So there is a good chance he might play for U23 (regular schedule) this season or next.
Why didn't Boonen get in then? He's 17, you know.Technically u23 but basically all players are 18-20. He has been good for the u18s and is Ireland's u17 captain so if he is good enough he is old enough.
Yes I am aware how old he is and you'd have to ask Joyce that. The logical explanation is they play different positions. Demi, Kehinde and Doughty are already on the bench for Boonen's position. Why didn't Boonen get in then? He's 17, you know.
Thanks. I would like to see him at higher level soon though.Yes I am aware how old he is and you'd have to ask Joyce that. The logical explanation is they play different positions. Demi, Kehinde and Doughty are already on the bench for Boonen's position.
As would I, Buffonge played in the last u23 match so Boonen could have a chance of getting an appearance or two off the bench too. We're short on wingers and attackers in general so hopefully a few of the u18s who are playing great recently get some time in the u23s.Thanks. I would like to see him at higher level soon though.
