Philippe Mexes

Tate's better than David May already, so he's ok already. ;) He looks very promising, but he's still a kid.

its nice isnt it? he was known to the big european clubs for a couple of years now, and he doesnt take the big early buck. is this because

a. he has a real mentor father figure in Guy Roux
and/or

b. it'll be well known among his people and auxerre that the longer they wait the bigger price he'll get, transfer market ups and downs not withstanding.

With CL experience and some french caps.

Hard to see us being as 'motivated' as a club with no apparent replacement for an aging CB, like the ones mentioned in the interview- we on the other hand have O'Shea coming on, and have just spent a bundle on a CB.

I think grabbing Mexes for next season would be awesome, he can replace Blanc, if we can sign Escude as well we can have the makings of a great team. Throw in a striker and we are laughing! :D
