Invalid: One who is incapacitated by a chronic illness or disability.

Depression? Or plain just moronic? Taken the wrong way then fine, but it was withdrawn and apologised for.

Shanks wasn't referring to the wanker statement, but:

Wanker - 1. A person who masturbates.
------ - 2. A detestable person.

'Detestable'. Quite offensive really.

Shanks was referring to the insults about his family and upbringing.

What inspires the level of personal abuse there is on this forum?

Sometimes it's obvious. But I don't think the abuse I've had recently has been justified.

First, the David Beckham saga. There are numerous posts in numerous threads from people who have said David shouldn't go, and waxing lyrical about him. This was my contribution, and the response it got from a female poster.

I'd prefer not to see these kind of responses at all tbh, as people should be allowed to voice their opinion (any non wind-up opinion that is) without getting insulted for it. But I would have thought my posts were quite innocuous and didn't justify those replies.

I'm not saying people need to agree all the time, but the personal stuff is way OTT. There's another Veron thread running about us scoring more goals without him in the side - but no-one has accused the topic starter of being a racist.

I agree with Livvie, what she got was way over the top.

However, where do you draw the line?

Me getting called waste or Merv or Bush Arse Licker, giggzy big tits, VanNistlerater bedwetter, etc.

Those are also personal insults too.
 
Well it's hard to draw the line - basically I was just curious to know what inspired the insults as I'd posted pretty innocuous stuff imo.
 
I think the only way to know that is by asking the people that made them.
