'Pep' Guardiola sack watch

Think the motivations gone. He’s won everything with city now. The CL was the final straw. Sooner or later he’ll be after a new challenge

Not sure there are any remaining clubs that match the only type of environment in which he can work (top players in all positions or the money to sign them).

Maybe PSG. Other than that, I dont see it.

Also, I wouldnt call it motivation. He had two of the best three players in the world last season. Now one of them has missed the first half of the season. That has been the difference IMO.

They have no one else to play at left back instead of Guardiol? Pretty shocking decision that he's spent so much money on him and play him there, but I wouldn't be surprised it's one of his genius ideas when he becomes bored and try to invent new stupid things/realises that the team is struggling and wants a way out.

Gvaridol has been fine,, when Stones is back and we have a CB pushing into midfield its necessary to have a CB on the left and a CB or Walker on the right so we can make a back 3. A couple of times he's been asked to play as a traditional LB but not nearly as often as people think. For the most part with everyone fit, we play without full backs in possession.

He hasn't been fine, he plays as classic full back more often than not. Last night he was shite and he played as classic fullback.

Draw against Chelsea - average position same as Walker, classic fullback position and also your worst rated player.

Draw against Crystal Palace - average position higher than Walker, pretty much as a forward - your second worst rated player

Draw against Spurs - 3 at the back, but his average position is highest out of any back 5 players, and on par as worst rated players with two more

That's just few games I have checked and from what I can remember as they were recent. He's been pointless signing so far, except for making up the numbers. He also made so many goal mistakes, reminds me of Stones first season or two when you signed him.

And this is where city's cheating shows. No one else would spend 78m for a player to be used as a makeshift squaddie. if it doesn't work, they'll spend another 60m on a different player this summer. It's not hard to get it right when you have infinite tries.

Has he been playing as a traditional fullback though? Always looks like he becomes part of a back 3 I'm possession whenever I've watched them. Similar to how they use Ake there.
I've not really been impressed whenever I've seen him and looks a bit slower than was suggested when they signed him.

Against Chelsea Akani played in midfield and Gvaridol was very much a 3rd CB. He did have a terrible game though.

Against Palace he played as a traditional left back, Both Palace goals came from the channel between Dias and Walker.
If you check 10 sites, he'll have a higher rating than Alvarez, Foden, Walker Dias on most of them and clocks in at 6/10, which is an average/fine performance.

Spurs again 3 at the back, was one of a whole clutch of 6/10 rated players for us on the day according to most sites, with only Akanji worse and only Foden higher.
Spurs first goal was Son vs Doku on a counter from a corner, 2nd goal was scored from the middle of the pitch at the edge of the area (Dias too slow to get out) and 3rd goal came down Cities right with Ake outjumped at the back post when he was off the pitch.

In terms of football statistics website he's got a 6.71 season rating roughly the same as Walker (6.78), Ake(6.72) and Akanji (6.73), plus higher than Dias, Lewis, Stones \(all in the 6.6's) and the rarely seen Gomez.
So yeah he's been perfectly fine.

If you wanna show me those goal mistakes I'd love to see them because he's got 1 the same amount as Rodri.

Squaddie? Only Dias and Walker have more appearances in our defence this season? 16 of the 20 PL games That would suggest he's very much first team. He also played all the important CL games and was rested for the easier ones.
You guys are shitting the bed early this season, you usually don't start getting the excuses in till April, lotta football to be played.

Not like you guys haven't spent 60m on Keita and 50m on Gakpo. 90m Darwin is hardly a nailed starter either.

Your record signing could well rise to a higher fee than Gvardiol.

Nunez - 12 starts this season (and only after a debut season in which he proved woefully inadequate)
Gvardiol - 14 starts this season

Wins Manager of the Year with City, openly flirts with Barca. Strange man.

I wonder if a Barca return is in his plans, he's done virtually everything in club football, going back to Barca to make them great once more is about the only thing he could do that's worth a damn.

They are paying for him as a medium-long term signing. He's 21; their other CBs are 29, 28, and 26. He'd be in his prime when some of those players are leaving theirs.

Baldie is cracking up.

he knows the guy left, because despite all of their tainted success, a failing United is still leagues and leagues above city in terms of importance and stature. Theyre a novelty franchise of the middle-east, not a serious club.

Your delusion is off the scale.
Years ago this forum claimed Pep is a traditionalist and would never join a "plastic" club like City. I insisted he was coming and was roundly poo-poohed
United really had better succeed in this new era with Ratcliffe and Brailsford plus whoever they can steal from other clubs to replace their recent dunces or there really are no excuses left for their slide down the list of blue chip clubs.
The bar is high and it'll take more than Berrada, Ashworth and your new part owners to clear it.

Like you systematically did with Barca?

Tell us about the internal staff that you didn’t steal who are instrumental to your success….

Soriano and Bergiristain left Barca of their own volition.
City didn't steal them.
Once appointed they and the ignored but vital piece of the jigsaw Khaldoon al Mubarak oversaw many smart appointments in jobs a level or two below them.

Whereas United put a gun to Berradas head, tied him up and threw him in the back of a van.

He left for a promotion and a raise like most of us would.
He'd also leave you if another top team offered him a package.
He's a businessman not a football diehard

You dont honestly believe he left for a payrise do you? City pay the highest wages in the world and could have easilly have offered him the same or more than we did.
