Paulo Dybala

If we really are going to get him I would say drop Bruno (if he is a target) get a proper dm to come play at the base of our diamond. Whether Ndidi or Partey. Along with mctominay that's two midfielders with good defensive workrate. If we are to get him it should be done right.

Talking to his agent isnt sign of his ultimate desire to join, if so he wouldnt go back desperate as feck to get any sign of love from Sarri, Juve. Its his agent, he has a job to do for his client and cover all angles.

So? Wouldn't you talk with PSG too if you were leaving your current club?

I quoted the wrong article. The guardian one didnt reference it. The other one stated that they had to shift Neymar first, which is analogous to them being unable to sign ADM at the time we signed him due to FFP, as soon as that was resolved they were tapping him up.

well that's me owned so

Let me expand. This site, like other forums are a microcosm of the global support for Manchester United. Not everyone is going to have the same opinion just like in real life there will be positive vibes and negative vibes. Everywhere would be boring if we all had the same opinion.

If he wants to stay at Juve that's cool. Rather him being honest with himself and I rather us not look like a club that's grovelling and begging a player to join purely for financial gain.

Now if Dybala doesn't want to join then,if Juve really are desperate for Lukaku's services, it has to be money upfront or in instalments. There's no other Juve player I would want in return. Dybala, money or nothing.

We have no idea how he feels about coming to United apart from the tabloid gossip. Its infuriating how often and how many people eat this up as fact.

Of course he is going to have a meeting with Juve before making a decision. Who wouldn't want to know all of the facts before making a decision?

From a United perspective, swapping Lukaku for Dybala is probably the absolute best realistic outcome possible.

It would be strange if Dybala agreed immediately. He is negotiating a salary, of course it takes several iterations.

Bloody hell this isn’t a Kaka to Man City type situation. They don’t want the kid anymore. He’s pretty much ours if we agree a contract with him. What’s he going to do stay and be an under paid version of Gareth Bale.

Are these whole rumours not predicated on the understanding that both United and Juve want to make the swap, but didn't yet get Dybala's opinion? They would have started negotiating to ensure both parties were interested, doesn't mean the remaining party (Dybala) would want it to happen though.
His agent flew to London just for a chat? Surely they must be seriously considering this transfer then?

don't know why, not as overly ecstatic as I should be about this one. Let's just say cautiously optimistic.

Two things - one that’s why his agent was here yesterday. He would have told us his demands and we would said how much we are willing to pay. We don’t have time like the Serie A to get this done. Secondly, we have less than a week. It should move fairly quickly. Talk to Sarri and if he says you’re not in his plans he has only one choice and that is to move. Only one club after you. Fairly simple.

Great to hear it is so simple mate, cheers.

It's his agent's job to ensure that all options are assessed. If Juve are adamant on pushing Dybala out, it would do them no good to potentially burn bridges with us. It still doesn't mean he wants to come, if he was to.

If that was the case we wouldn’t be chatting to his agent a week before the window closes. He will leave providing Sarri tells him he’s not in his plans. They after Lukaku that alone should tell you Lukaku will start ahead of him, they wouldn’t be paying £80m otherwise.

If it does appear to be the case that Dybala does not want to join, we should not have started negotiating in the first place.

We literally signed Di Maria despite him not wanting to join us so I'm not sure it would stop us talking to a player's agent.

There's not much time to sort out the Lukaku situation so it seems a bit desperate from all sides. I'm not sure who gets what they want or need out of it. Juventus get a player they don't need. Lukaku gets to join a club which isn't the one he wanted to join. United get Dybala, a player who didn't want to sign for them and isn't a replacement for Lukaku.

The whole thing seems baffling and a bit stupid. I mean I could see Dybala in different circumstances being a good signing for United. I've no idea how Lukaku and Ronaldo in the same team is supposed to be a good idea. Not a chance they won't be in each other's way.

Been thinking about this and not sure. Ok, he would probably be an upgrade on Lukaku, in a different way, and I suppose he would be better than Mata or Lingard for the right wing, but does signing him mean we don’t get Bruno?
Does he work hard enough defensively for Ole’s style?
Don’t want us to sign a big name just for the sake of it who might not fit the team and style we’re going for.

On the other hand, he is a top player on his day and if he played on the right we could keep Greenwood in the number 9 position, where he looks a natural.

P.s. I think Bruno could be a bit light weight for the league but he seems to work hard for the team.

To be fair,Kaka did come to the quick conclusion, after he declined City's and Cook's advances, that Milan were going to sell him at some point to make a handsome profit on him. And that rang true as in the following summer he went to Madrid for a then record fee, before Ronaldo joined up a week later.

He demands 350k/week while Pog is on 290k. I would say no to this if he is after only financial gains and disrupt the dressing room.

Thanks, but no thanks

It's not as if his agent could have phoned Ed or faxed him
Why not? Surely not all negotiations require a physical meeting? In my opinion it means they are interested in a move. Time will tell I guess. Like I said before, if Dybala does not want to join then we should move on swiftly.

I think this deal makes sense. Lukaku is not wanted by United, Dybala is a bit of a burden at Juve, we would need to replace Lukaku and Dybala fits Ole's philosophy, he's a big name signing that Woodward can play around. I think Dybala will like it here as well. He's the luxury type of signing we like building a team around while he'll find at United a top club on one side which lack the ruthlessness of a top side.

Flying to London implies to me this is more than ‘assessing an option’. I could be wrong obviously, time will tell.

We all knew what we were getting with Lukaku. Same with Dybala. If we don't play him in a system that doesn't suit him, we won't be looking to offload Dybala in two summers in the same way

Does a 4231 system suit Dybala because I doubt Ole is going to change for one player? He's good, but he's not a player worth changing a system over.

It's all speculation at the minute...one minute he's agreed to come if he earns X amount, then he doesn't fancy England and would go to PSG. Nobody knows anything!

This would be impressive and logical of us. But at this point, I think I would nearly prefer Bruno over Dybala in the attacking mid position. Can’t see us signing a defensive midfielder now though, unless Longstaff last minute but doubtful I’d say.

I like this. With the way we've played our front four, in that they've all been interchaging, I can see it working, but it would take a bit of time getting used to movement and play styles.

Well I'm pretty sure those are the only legitimate options anyway. What else could we offer, a night with phil jones?

Not sure if this is a goer tbh

Not sure Juve are this dumb. I don’t think he’d willingly give up life in Turin for Manchester.

Shades of Di Maria I think

yeh but what you're really saying is all opinions are equal but some are more equal than others, particularly any opinion you agree with. Anyways this is my last post so I apologise if my difference of opinion caused you upset :)

Getting him shouldn't interfere with bruno, maguire longstaff and whoever it is we want. Its a swap. Im sure dybala wasn't in our transfer plans starting out but after 7 years we are back in Gods favor.

I’m a little less enthusiastic now that i see the tweets of him isn’t that enthusiastic himself of coming here. I would have thought he would want to come without much convincing because his current club doesn’t want him, he knows we are a historic club and one of his mates is here

The tragedy of still not having a RW even if Dybala comes here. Fecking Lingards luck.
If we're getting Dybala as a 10/occasional right wing, then it balances more having Lingard out there. They can all move around anyway, with the front 4 all being versatile which is clearly what Ole is looking for.

I wonder if Pogba has had a say in this ? It would be player power gone mad but I wouldn’t be surprised if he has put forward two or three names to sign in a bid to appease him for at least another season.
If anything I could see it being a lure past this season, which wouldnt be the worst thing in the world getting Dybala and keeping Pogba long term.

Perhaps this is his way of showing that he's being pushed out of Juve as opposed to agitating for the move.
