Paulo Dybala

It’s not going to happen. The story is being pushed to get Inter to stump up the cash for Rom.

So Lukaku would prefer a move to Inter, and Dybala would prefer to stay at Juve. Bodes well.

I thought this, until I saw what Neved said about Dybala possibly leaving

The thing we can all be sure of is that we can offer him wages that Juve can't even think of matching. There's nothing more tempting or convincing than that. The financial proposal, of course, also translates in sporting valuation of the player, and he seems to be looking for that.

Don’t think it’s equally satisfying cause that’s leaves us a week to go out and find a replacement for Lukaku.

It is for me because I want to see the likes of Gomes and Greenwood play

I’d have been happy with that 2 weeks ago, but we need a replacement for him too.

In my mind, there’s no way this goes as far as an agreement between both clubs without Dybala already agreeing to it. Juve must have already told him he’s surplus to requirements and Utd will have sounded him out on a potential move.

Otherwise, why risk upsetting an asset that may stay in your team?

Mate even with Dybala they will get their chances. We are going to buy a replacement for Lukaku either way. For now you have to choose between Dembele and Dybala.

thought so too a couple of days ago when Juves interest first popped up, but we're way past that stage. There seems to be genuine interest from Juves side for some reason. You don't allow a player's agent to fly to Italy and discuss terms when you just want to force another club's hands and you don't really want to let that player go, it doesn't make sense.

Yep. If he wasn’t interested then the agent wouldn’t be entertaining the offer.

Not really, this is about Juvé wanting to get rid of the player for whatever bizarre reason they may have.

Dybala if moved only wants a reported €10m annual salary which is what Lukaku gets right now anyways. It’s very fair considering market prices set by others and even for United standards who are known to overpay.

Correct.

Inter don't have the resources and Dybala's agent is already in London.
Also, Juventuz has already blown through all five stages of grief, and are at the acceptance stage. Thats how you know its more than a story!

Will they though? A week or so Greenwood was being tipped to start against Chelsea and be given the chance of making the RW position his own, Dybala comes in and that goes right out of the window and Greenwood becomes nothing more of a stopgap until Dybala is up to fitness

And before someone comes in mid discussion I'm not saying don't buy Dybala because of Greenwood I'm just saying there are silver linings to only getting cash for Lukaku

Can I let myself get sucked into this one? I've been hurt in the past and fear it's only gonna lead to more crippling disappointment.

I think this will be fantastic signing for Man. United, I've said you should go after him or James Rodriguez for that marquee signing in number 10/left wing role. Both very talented players and at stages of their career where they need to be main men at the clubs they're at.

Dybala scored 19 league goals in 15/16 and 23 in 17/18 in Serie A (he scored three hat-tricks that year). Fantastic stats for someone who dosen't play like a pure number 9 and takes many positions outside the box. Add in the goals he scored in Coppa Italia and CL (also remember the fantastic double he scored v Barca).

Of course it's easy to say of course he'll score loads for Juventus but he also scored 14 for Palermo back in 14/15 which was his debut season in Italy. Now last season he did have a major dip, seemed he had personal issues and of course all forwards have to play supporting cast and bow down to Ronaldo. It can't be easy when you score and you turn round and see Ronaldo jumping up and down as he didn't get a pass for a tap in. Douglas Costa is another who went completely off the boil last year.

If I was to liken this signing to another major one in last three years I'd actually compare it to when Alexis Sanchez moved to..........Arsenal. Here was a guy who was reasonably regular at Barca but couldn't make that extra step due to Messi presence.

So off he went and he became main man at Arsenal and posted some unbelievable goalscoring stats for a few years. Really think Dybala could have a similar impact, it's certainly more exciting for you guys than Mata or Lingard playing that position for most of the season anyway.

Not really sure what Juve are smoking. Ronaldo is 34 and a half, Mandzukic is I think a year younger and Higuain is fat (and also over 30 now). Selling him and Moise Kean strikes me as very odd. Lukaku will come in and score but we've seen in later stages of CL he is pretty limited so can't see improvement in the final stages, guess that's the problem when you sign up a coach as un-negotiable in his style of play as Sarri is.

So to conclude, Dybala isn't winning you the league but you've certainly got far more chance of making top 4 with him in the line up. It's probably the sort of signing Chelsea would've made to replace Hazard if there was no transfer ban.

The other funny aspect to this is that Juventus get lumbered with Higuain, as Dzeko and Icardi are likely to swap clubs apparently

What you said is reportedly true and is in line with what I said actually. Once he gets the aforementioned amount, which is significantly higher than what he's currently on, there's no turning back for Juve who allowed the conversation to begin.

We have 50+ games in a season. Rashford for the past couple of years almost always burns out towards the end of the season. We always have injury problems every year. Thursday’s night are going to be a bitch. So depth in squad isn’t a bad thing. You don’t want to stretch yourself too thin with Lukaku going out and not getting in a replacement. That’s why I said we WILL replace Lukaku one way or the other way, even if he goes to Inter. Absolutely no way we go into a season with just Martial, Rashford and Greenwood as our #9s.

Dybala doesn't change the fact that we wouldn't have a RW. He'd be in direct competition with Gomes, if anything.
