Paulo Dybala

He's 25. There's no problem taking a backward step so that you keep playing as a starter in a top league so that you can move forward later on, instead of setting on the bench in Juve.
After we offered him £11m a year? I still get the feeling that this is being leaked by Juventus to get us interested again, but who knows.
I just can't see Spurs paying anywhere near what he'd demand

No it's not, but is he really going to move for quite possibly less money than he's on now?
It seems Spurs have a strict wage structure, and it'd be decimated paying what Dybala wants. Theres no chance they can afford it.

Completely agree with this. Dybala coming in would really shake things up and probably not in a good way. I can't see that deal happening for the reason that if we weren't willing to stump up the cash, I can't see Spurs doing it either.

I'd say it's highly likely we will already have scoped that out prior to any official bid - though I find it hard to believe we will be able to sign him.
Would you be ok losing Eriksen if that means signing Dybala?

Money isn't everything for every footballer.

Plus, at the moment Spurs are finishing regularly in top 4 every year while we're not, so yeah, I don't find a problem with him favoring them ahead of us.

Says all you need to know about him as a person if he chooses money/Spurs over Ole.
There is no way Spurs would offer him more money than we would. If he goes to Spurs, it can only be for footballing reasons.

Yes because Eriksen clearly wants out - I wouldnt want us to keep him if he does want to stay - also I rate Dybala very highly indeed and would be absolutely thrilled if we signed him.

If there was to be any sort of u-turn in this deal and the Dybala demands were dropped, I'd go for it, even if his heart isn't 100% in the move.

Right now we've got Lukaku training in Belgium and will probably be here when the season starts.
If the Dybala deal isn't a success, I feel he'd have better resale value than Lukaku, especially to the likes of Real, Barca and PSG next season

Yeah I'm down for this, only what? 25? Some team will be willing to take him off us in a couple of years whereas only juve are stupid enough to want Lukaku

No fecking way Juventus are going to accept a 62 million offer from Spurs for Dybala when recently they literally valued him at 100 million.

State of this transfer window....I'll be happy to see it over on Thursday evening

No it's not, but for Dybala it looks like it clearly is.
He knows the predicament he's in at Juve, yet turned down massive money because he wants to stay? Yet he's going to leave when Spurs offer him half of what we offered, based on one lucky CL season?
Do you honestly think Spurs are going to win the league or CL anytime soon?

How much is (one season of) CL football and living in London worth to him?

Guess we'll find out if the deal does go through, because it'll be a very cold winter in hell before Levy offers him £350k/week.

Fair play to Spurs if they can pull this off. For now I believe they won't sign him as he is already on 230k-250K which is more than any spurs player, he will for sure look for huge pay rise and also the reported agent fee.

Fair enough.

A year is a long time in football and in 12 months, Spurs could be the ones in the Europa League while United are in the Champions League.

if he wants the same amount at Spurs, it is on IMO. They are a better fit and Poch being Argentinian is a huge pull.

Would be very surprised if he takes a step down for same wages.

Paulo dybala is currently on 240k a week? Is he the highest paid player after Ronaldo?

He's actually making a good football decision if he goes Spurs. In this scenario we are the money option.

I hear you guys using that argument and I find it a bit funny. It’s Spurs and it’s one season. We are a huge team, they are mediocre. He should rather stay imo. Or fight for us joining CL next season.

If Money is everything for him he would have joined us.

No Spurs aren't going to win these any time soon but we won't either. However Spurs have been a guaranteed top 4 spot and finish around 3rd-4th every year while we showed we can't even guarantee that.

So dybala wants 10m net. Can anyone explain me how Levy plans to offer that considering Kane is their highest earner at 200k?

I won't be surprised if Dybala agrees to a lower wage. Its a better fit for him. Manager that speaks his language, proven in the premier league and champions league and Spurs play excellent football. Not sure how this affects the Eriksen deal but Spurs could simply swap him with Coutinho and they have a fantastic team.

Why aren't any english Journos reporting it? Briefing from Juventus?

Think he was joking. But, if this goes through, yeah, he would go for football decision most likely. Good or bad, time will tell, as Spurs project is highly depandable on Poch and how long will he stay imo.

Hope this would mean Eriksen to us which would make everyone pleased.

So he's going to go to Spurs because they can guarantee top 4 finishes?
I just don't see it happening at all. We've had all these reports tonight of Poch making a plea to Coutinho from several sources, and Di Marzio then comes out and says they've bid for Dybala? They can't have both, and they've got a MUCH better chance of getting Coutinho

I don't see Dybala to Spurs happening. Just a pressure tactic from Juve to get us to return to the table.

Have you seen any player as high profile as Dybala that would swap the Champions of Italy for Spurs AND agree to lower wages than what he was already offered at Manchester United? I find it extremely unlikely this is happening.

Coutinho the back up option if they cant pull off Dybala perhaps. What an end to the transfer window, this just wont die will it....

So he's going to go to Spurs because they can guarantee top 4 finishes?

It might not happen, however Juve want to get rid so if this deal collapses as well, they'll probably try again to sell him for the rest of the month away from England, PSG or something.

Like it or not, Spurs are not the team that have been playing in the Europa league 4 times in the last 6 years.

Spurs is a good footballing decision, we despite being a massive club are unstable and are further away from where we need to be than Spurs, that much can be agreed upon. Players don't look at the sentimental value of being a "huge team" anymore, just takes one glance at the City squad to see that. I don't expect this to be understood with rose-tinted glasses though.

Thats not how agents think unfortunately. I can't see him taking a pay cut and he might as well wait for end of the month to see what is happening with PSG.

Donald Trump is the president of the United States of America.

Juventus have basically given him the boot. If he goes anywhere it's pretty clear it wouldn't exactly be willingly or his preferred career choice. Which makes it extremely unlikely he'd sign for Spurs on less money than he wanted at United. If he did it pretty much guarantees he has no interest staying there long.

I also don't think the for all Pochettino's whining, he wants a reluctant player in his squad any more than Ole does. Hes built the team on the exact oppposute of that. Plus if your aim is to win things Spurs would be low on the list atm.

When you cut out the Muppet rumours it makes no sense. The United link only made more sense because we are daft enough to actually sign someone in those circumstances and also want to get rid of Lukaku.

With Kane being on 200k a week and their star player, if they pay Dybala 350k a week, Kane will go apeshite!

We won't. I gave my opinion previously that Dybala's supposed wage demands were a smokescreen to disguise the fact that he just didn't want to sign for United.

Thats what i see happening.
I think he'll reject Spurs (if infact they've actually bid) and wait it out for PSG. Thing is, if he goes to Spurs, and hates it there, Levy is an arse and would demand an extortionate fee for him to go, meaning he'd be stuck there.
