Paulo Dybala

If you sign Dybala do not play him WIDE right, its fiction he is used to playing there, I think its like something like 18 games in the last 3 seasons.

We ultimately need players who will perform for us. It doesn't really matter why they come here in the first place.

 at Juice telling him not to bother seeing Sarri. That is savage.

It’s hard to believe we fail to agree with Dybala in salary. Salary is the only one issue that has never been a problem at Man Utd. We could fail to agree anything but salary...

Also, the narrative that he’s being shown his coat at Juve is eerily similar to the Di Maria situation at Madrid. Ultimately we need players who desperately want to come here, not ones who are getting pushed out and choose United just for the money.

Exactly

Exactly my thoughts. To those players who want join us, you will get the biggest and best welcome. To those players who don’t want to join, or are only coming to bolster their bank balance, move on there’s nothing here for you.

This is such a naive and romanticised view.

Players are rarely desperate to sign for anyone and even less when they are already playing for a big successful club. For me the question is whether he is genuinely intrigued/interested by United if things aren't to be with juventus and then the key is to make the players fall in love when they are in your organization, Evra for example fell in love with the club while playing for it after learning its history and being in the buildings.

Meh there are enough examples of players that were shown the door that were very good for their new clubs as well. Just think of Robben. It all depends on the mindset of the player.

Whilst I definitely agree, I feel it's probably much easier to fall in love with a club when you are completely dominant and winning. Combine that with a legendary manager and other world class players and it's not quite the same these days. Hopefully we can get back to that point!

not sure why the thread in the main forum got closed but I agree that this is a risk when the noises are that he doesn't want to come here. That's not going to end well for anyone.

Even if it's bollocks (and it may well be) that's going to be the narrative from the second he arrives til the second he leaves.

Robben was the perfect pro.. i dont know if Dybala is that.

That being said.. i rather have a "doesnt want to be here player who only plays for the money" but who can actually play football starting games instead of local young lad JLingz who... runs a lot?

Dybala will have a point to prove. Is immensely talented. Good friends with Pogba. 10x better than what we have, far more proven than Fernandes, also, a much better player.

No brainer for me.

That's our issue, we aren't all that attractive for big players, most will have better options or options that seem safer, I'm not suggesting that we aren't attractive at all. And for me it's always important to remember that foreign players will for the most part support their local team, someone like Dybala is probably a fan of Belgrano every other club is a business decision.

I see what you're saying but isn't he someone who can slow things down in the sense he likes to take a few touches. Similar to Pogba in a way, not releasing the ball fast enough. And with Matic, Pogba, Dybala in the side are we going to be too slow with the ball?

Pogba generally takes too much time on the ball in United, but you have a feeling that he doesn't have more creative options around him and takes everything on himself. He doesn't do that for France. Dybala is someone who can help him in that way, providing extra option to release the ball more quickly. Griezmann would be a pretty good example of how it would work. Roaming forward who offers both creative option upfront and a massive goalthreat on his own. And Dybala isn't a ball hog in a sense someone like Isco is. Bonus, they did have good chemistry while they were together in Juventus.

Sanchez was a massive failure and one of the main reasons (beside him being absolutely finished) is that he constantly went in Pogba zone while being on the left disrupting us further. Dybala won't do that.

Matic should be replaced either way. Yeah, someone at the base should definitely be more quicker in releasing the ball. That could be an issue for sure.

If we sign Maguire and Dybala in the last week of the transfer window, no one can argue that isn’t a massive upgrade to our squad.

We still need another CM because the drop off after Pogba and McTominay is huge. But have to feel if we are playing 4-2-3-1 this season, the two will be McT and Pogba, with Fred, Matic and Andreas in reserve. In the next window/summer, if we can swap Matic with someone better and more mobile, and add Sancho to the RW. We will have an incredible squad.

At that point you ship out Mata, Sanchez and Young, and bring in another left back to compete, and perhaps another goal scorer. After the purchase window closes on Aug 8th, I expect to see Darmian and Rojo leave this summer. After next summer I would expect the squad to be:

GK: De Gea
GK: Romero
GK: Henderson

RB: Wan-Bissaka
RB: Dalot
LB: Shaw
LB: NEW SIGNING (2020)

CB: Maguire
CB: Lindelof
CB: Tuanzebe
CB: Jones
CB: Smalling

CM: McTominay
CM: Pogba
CM: NEW SIGNING (2020)
CM: Fred
CM: Andreas

FR: NEW SIGNING (Sancho 2020)
FR: Greenwood
FC: Dybala
FC: Gomes
FL: Rashford
FL: Chong

SC: Martial
SC: NEW SIGNING (Dembélé 2020)

Out this summer: Lukaku (for Dybala), Darmian (for peanuts), Rojo (for the love of god)

Out next summer: Young (released), Matic (sold to Serie A), Sanchez (China), Bailly (Darren Anderton’s Care home for the infirm), Mata (GQ).

Burned at the stake: Lingard (Under a full moon).

As a sacrifice for Jadon Sancho’s transfer next season.
