Paul Scholes

Disagree.....I would not swap any of Vieira/Pires/Henry/Bergkamp/Ljungberg for Scholes

Why you've added Vieira and Henry onto that list is beyond me  It's a bit sketchy with Pires too. As a wing player then yes, i'd take Pires over Scholes, but Scholes isn't a wing player. The only two there you can really compare Scholes with are Bergkamp and Ljungberg. Ljungberg had an exceptional run of form towards the end of last season, but that does not a player make. He is regularly woeful for Sweden, which begs there question of were his good performances down to his individual talent, or due to the well functioning unit of your team?
Bergkamp, in his pomp, was a one off - a true genius, i'll give you that. But he's already been raising the question of retirement, which shows he hasnt got long left.

It shouldn't be beyond you to understand my remarks if you had bothered to see that they were in response to Julian Denny's assertion that he didn't think there was anyone in our(Arsenal's) squad who was better.I gave 5 players who I thought were better. If we were to consider 'like for like' role replacements then some of your comments are valid, though as Pires has shown his excellence in central midfield both for Arsenal and France,it seems fair to include him were your analysis to be adopted.

That's not the point I'm making. On the basis that PS is the most complete footballer at United ie he can do virtually anything, except perhaps the odd mistimed tackle, there is nobody at Highbury who is better or put another way a more complete player. For example, Henry is a good goalscorer and he has pace, but he can't head the ball or pass it consistently well for that matter. Get the idea ?
:)
