Do you want Pogba for £100 million?

You're having a meltdown muppet?

LOL.

You know I've been very confident of this happening for the last 2 weeks.
But now that the story "negotiations are taking place..." has been running for 2 weeks, I am beginning to worry that this may not actually happen.
Now add to that, the fact that there is not one official story that we are attempting to sign Pogba (even Jose did not mention him by name explicitly...just that he has a 4th target, which we assume is Pogba).
Lets also add that Pogba himself has made no mention of "MUFC is my dream club, I love MUFC, etc".
I am getting very worried that this whole story has been made up by Twitter posters, most of whom are known to be liers.

What I am waiting for is BBC to report that we are either making a deal OR agreed to sign Pogba.

Our last truly top class signing was Robin Van Persie. Since then we've signed players well below his level for silly money. Herrera, Mata, past it Bastian, Schneiderlin, Blind, Rojo ect. All way below what we should be signing as first team players. This summer we've done things right.
I actually think Schneiderlin is a good signing and I am confident he will come good this year. The rest I have to agree. But thats this the argument everyone is using against people who dont want us to sign Pogba but instead sign 3-4 players with that money. Thats exactly the mistake we've been making the past 3 years. Signing squad players and no world class or potential world class players.

Even if you don't believe the Italian press who are well connected for Juventus' news

Craig Norwood has followed Pogba on Twitter. It's a done deal dude.

Have a feeling our midfield will look completel6 transformed with him as long as we use him correctly. Not a #10, not a holding mid or a midfield 2 player, just needs that more advanced mid in a 3 like gerrard or lampard were at their best. And mourinho knows exactly how to use that role effectively so lets hope it works out

I agree.

Tbf Di Maria was top class. It just didn't work out. Not in the same mold as RVP though. Di Maria doesn't have it in him to be the best player in the league or his own team.

I think he would have worked out if we had Mou. Man just think of the team we would have had now if we still had ADM.

Its happening. Don't do this to us.

Sadly this thread will be no more in cirka ~36 hours.
Dont worry United wont announce it by tomorrow and they dont make big announcements on weekends, which means they wont put it up on the website till Monday the earliest, which again means this thread should be active till the weekend.

Think you guys overreacted about Klopp. He didn't criticize the Pogba signing at all.

My takeway from that article was he thinks paying so much for one player is putting all your eggs in one basket. If he got injured....

The problem with that thinking is it does not take into account what a special player can contribute. Of course any player can get injured.

Di Marzio didn't tweet is so take it with a huge grain of salt.

The transfer to me is dead, I know it'll happen, I dont doubt it but I dont get my hopes up because good things haven't happened to United in a while in terms of world breaking transfers.

 You do realise how ridiculous what you just said is? You know it will happen and don't doubt it but at the same time you doubt it?

Yeah some real mediocrity in there. We did sign some top class though like Falcao and Di Maria. They just didn't work out under the van Gaal reign of terror.

Why is there nothing on the BBC website, to suggest that the biggest deal in football history is about to happen?
The website is though stating that Guardiola wants to sign Stones, but nothing on Pogba.

With the Vidal saga, the same thing happened - nothing was on the BBC website and it just fizzled out.
When Jose was rumoured to be coming to MUFC, BBC reported that meeting had taken place.
But with the Pogba affair there are no stories on the BBC website.

And then when you add the "the deal is almost done" mantra, which has been running for about 2 weeks, I am getting worried, if this is actually happening or not.

Di Maria lacked any form of movement to hit. He had a massively out of form Rooney and a crippled falcao. Our crappy 352 formation pretty much saw to the end of him. Such a shame as in last years team he would have done really well I think, getting martial and rashford in the squad transformed out attacking play. If only he was still here now our attack would be unstoppable.

Yeah LVG didn't manage him properly at all. Such a shame it didn't work out.

To me it sounded like he was just saying that just because United spent a lot of money doesn't mean that Liverpool are out of it. The injury was just one example of how nothing is set in stone. The team spirit was the other half and that it can go a long way to compete. Basically, if money was the only thing that mattered in football, he would be gone because there would be no more coaching involved.

God knows why LVG even signed him, he's pretty much the completely opposite of a footballer he likes, apart from pace. Really was a train wreck that deal.

On one hand I'm gonna miss this thread.
But on the other hand I'm happy this thread will be no more as i feel like I'm addicted to hitting the refresh button.

In all honesty. We've thrown away all what remained of SAF's legacy. We've no identity, we're just another club........

did not see where you got the first line. Team spirit is crtical no matter the quality of the players. Last season Champions prove that. Money is a very huge factor. You can build entire teams on it.

In the end it is of course about the coaching involved. He is stating the obvious there.

Only SAF can make his legacy work. In the real world, we'd be fighting relegation if we followed his transfer policy.

Juventuz is a mess right now, they're going to sign Verratti apparently...

I doubt they are in a mess to be fair. They've already signed Pjanic early in the Summer, his stats from Serie A last season are comparable to Pogba if not slightly better. He's still young, 2 and a bit years oldervthsn Pogba but is also an excellent player.

This is why we post about football on the internet and these people running football clubs are millionaires from their work in the industry.

Lol

We've always spent money. You think Keane, Rio, Rooney, Veron, ADM were bargain buys?

Oh, give over. Did SAF never sign players for lots of money?
To be fair, out of our top 10 most expensive signings 3 were bought by Ferguson. And one of those was 15 years ago. The other 7 have been since 2013.

Although I do agree with you in principle.

Yeah, because SAF didn't throw money at Ferdinand, Rooney, Ronaldo, Anderson, Phil Jones, Smalling, etc. Stop pretending SAF was some pure-football manager who only used academy players or something. He's a great manager, but the absolute level of bullshit I see people viewing him with is Liverpool levels of delusion.

I wonder how much of that has to do with the inflation in the transfer market?

Is he worth 100 million pounds ? Of course he isn't. Can we afford it? Yes. Is he one of the most sought after, highly rated and talented footballers on the planet? Yes. The deal makes sense. What doesn't is that we're able to pull it off in our current position (football wise). Hopefully he'll be a vital cog in the wheel that takes us back towards the top.
