Seems there's like a few details to iron out, but all going well according to that article.

Pogba will soon be ours

I've been positive for the most part this whole saga, but the longer it goes on the less likely I think it's happening. We have Jose saying we won't be held ransom, that we have other options, we have reports that Zidane likes Pogba and is calling him to join yet Perez doesn't like him, which makes no sense at all, why would Zidane call him to persaude him if he didn't have a chance of signing him.

Also, Raiola was a lot more aggressive when talking about Mkhitryan being linked to us, for example.

Honestly think Madrid will come in last second or he'll stay at Juve, not cause I'm scared of Madrid because according to reports we are dithering on a few million pounds.

Lastly for people saying where he will play at Madrid, they could sell Kroos and use Pogba in the 433. Kroos would then join City and Pep in a heartbeat leaving us with Matuidi imo.

Not if Juve spend €94m on Higuain, no way jose

From GDM, it's positive news IMO.

Marotta and Paratici continue to work to define the details of the agreement with Manchester United for the transfer of Paul Pogba to England. Mino Raiola remains by the player’s side in Miami, in anticipation of the conclusion of the deal between Juventus and United.

The longer Woody dithers over this, the more time Madrid have to scrape together the funds they need to get Pogba his preferred move.
Dithering? We're about to sign a player for over £100m with over 5 weeks of the transfer window remaining. That's not dithering. That's impressive.

Sounds good. No way can Juve spend 94m on Higuain without the Pogba cash. They have money, but not that much money.
They can fund the first 50% of the payment which is due this season by selling fringe players like Zaza and Pereyra. They don't need to sell Pogba.

There's wages as well. If they didn't sell Pogba they'd have to give him a big new contract.

It's irrelevant anyway, as they are selling him.

 I thought a deal was done with Juve already?

It's just frustrating how long these things take, but you're right- if he pulls this off, credit to the guy

I really fail to grasp this train of thought some people convince themselves with whereby one of the most financially important figures in the game is supposedly sat at negotiations with a sweaty forehead counting his coins inside his purse and somehow is dithering over how much to pay.

Know this:
1. Bid has been made and reportedly been accepted.
2. Players' contract is set and reportedly accepted.
3. It takes financial planning and structuring over some time to get over the hurdles that are 1 and 2.
4. At this point the deal is either in its final hours or waiting for external pieces to fall in place so the deal can be finalised. Whichever it is, it is not on us anymore.
5. Bonus point because I am sure some folks believe in fax machines being part of transfer dealings. Hint: they are not and have not been for some time.

This

This thread is more repetitive than the great 'LVG out' thread. Feels like it's been going as long too.

You get the feeling some people think transfers are like they are on Football Manager. Offer some money, get a response, sign the player. All done in a matter of 3 or 4 days.
A £100m transfer wouldn't be done in 4 days, yes clubs can appear to swoop in at the last moment and steal a player, but who knows whats been going on behind the scenes and for how long. Most clubs do their transfer business in private, with journos getting bits of info here and there. Real are a different bunch of pricks tho, they're arrogant little arseholes and have no problem with using Marca to help them along

Strange that a lot of the English press are still just classing Pogba as a "target" for United

So it's taken United a month before deciding he is worthy of being a target? Imo his future is either already decided and it's just dotting the i's time, or there's been a hitch/problem somewhere. But just a "target" at this stage?!

Spot on.

Hopefully Pogba coming will put Martials mind at rest on anything. We are building a great team and he can be part of that.

Its possible Napoli may now have a similar situation like Juve did where they want to buy a replacement before letting Juve can announce Higuain so that clubs don't try to fleece them upping their prices knowing they have plenty of money.

Must be ITK. This thread is too funny tbh, conclusions are being made left, right and center whereas we have no new information.

Dude, this is a transfer muppet thread.

We have reports from hair dressers. From chefs.
We have fake/unlikely/probable/possible/'I Think' theories.
We have fake/true ITK's and other members calling those ITK's liars.
We have some posters taking this thread seriously and showing some emotion in their posts.
We are creating one of the biggest thread in the history of the Caf, on schedule to become the biggest thread of all time, in record time.
The transfer fee is on course to break the World Record.

Jose promised BOX OFFICE and that is exactly what we are getting/needed after the last 3 years!!!

I'm loving this and I can't wait for the season to start.

When did Juventino become a thing? I'd heard of Madrista's but recently Atleti and Benfica have a nickname for their fans as well .

It's not that new, Juventino is used to describe somone from the city or a fan of the club, plural 'Juventini'. It's like saying 'Manc' or 'Mancs'. 'Fiorentini are people from Florence or fans of Fiorentina. This is from my experience as a red living in Italy.

Interesting, thanks for the info.

The idea of there being a chain reaction like that would be quite amusing but I doubt it. Napoli probably won't have much say in that respect if Juventus have indeed activated Higuain's release clause.

We must continue until we all end in Muppet euphoria or heartbreak, no looking back now.
