Do you want Pogba for £100 million?

We will offer 100mil, they will reject it, we will up to 120mil, they will accept it.
Juve come out of this looking like they wanted to keep him but the offer was just too much money to turn down.
Its all panto bullshit for the fans this.

I will tell you why.
Because as a fan, if we are planning to spend £150M (or whatever the latest cost is), then I'd prefer we spend that money on another player OR 2 other players.
There comes a point where as a fan, I think we could spend that money more wisely, to get better results on the pitch. That's all.

£100M for Pogba would be "okay". But if its any more than this, then I'd seriously suggest we look at other players.

How about £84/85M as reported by Di Marzio about 15 mins ago?

LVG guided a very poor Netherlands squad to 3rd at the World cup which included a humiliation for Spain. He has also won many trophies with the clubs he managed before then and also won us the FA Cup. The decision making was understandable on this choice as it was for buying ADM. No one could foresee the formation and philosophy LVG would adapt with the United squad and the terrible decisions regarding players positions.

Moyes was a bad choice but the board listened to Fergie on that point and followed his choice for the job. Poor decision making by the board on this occasion, but understandable considering Fergie didn't get much wrong during his 26 years as manager and trusted his decision.

Bolded is the thing with LVG. Would he have guided Spain to 3rd? He is an amazing coach but not necessarily good with star players. I think he prefers to work with young players. There are lots of players who have fallen out with him. Also he seems to prefer more all-round players which is not that attractive to star players.

I have always wondered who was to blame for United's poor transfers in recent years, either LVG/Moyes or Woodward. If Pogba is coming, and combined with our previous aquirements this summer, it's kind of proven Woodward is not to blame.

I rate him extremely high as a manager though.

Woodward like,

See ya.

Whoever thought towards the back end of last season that we would have zlatan, micky targaryan and now be on the cusp of bringing Paul fecking Pogba back home :'( I'm almost moved to tears. Why did it take so long to get mourinho? I love the man.

The only relevant question for us (the fans) is whether or not the player is good enough. It's not our money, why on earth would we care about the fee. It's a complete nonsense.

I could be wrong but I don't see Pogba as a player that transforms your midfield, he doesn't bump its level. Players like Suarez, Bale or Ronaldo transforms an area of your team, they transform your attack.

If he comes and is a huge success and then goes to Madrid at some point, surely he'll leave at a profit. Let's forget the price and see it as an investment, assuming he is a success. It's a small gamble I feel.
If that happens chances are Real or whoever won't pay the fee.

I remember a couple of people on Rawk last week said £200mil and £300mil respectively was his fee lol.

We see it all the time when United is involved, this is the formula:

If United buy a player:

- Casually switch from Euros to Pounds
- Include all bonuses as a one off payment
- Include all wages for the duration of the contract in the transfer fee

If United sell a player:

- Casually switch from Pounds to Euros
- Exclude all bonuses alltogether

Like i said, posturing will be done before final deal. This will make us and pogba look bad to juve fans. Its a Pr exercise now.

So, this meeting could take place today? If the stories of Mino being in Manchester are true, are there any private planes travelling from Manchester to Turin?

I will tell you why.

The thing is if you want to buy a player that can make a difference, you have to spend that much money. Buying squad players for 30 million each is all well and good but it doesnt really make that much of a difference to the squad in the end. It is only good if you need cover and depth in certain positions.

But if you want to truly improve the squad you have to spend real money on top quality players. Now while whether or not Pogba is top quality at the moment is up for debate, what isnt up for debate is his ridiculous potential. He has done so much at such a young age. Well worth the risk.

To understand what Pogba will bring to United, you only have to watch his touches in any random game. Take his game against a top class Bayern in March. He was head and shoulders above the Bayern midfield and Vidal and co couldn't keep up with him. Here's all his touches in that game, AWAY against Bayern at 23 years old. -

.

The guy is super fecking special.

That Hashim guy would be a good follow now, he'll be all over every news article in relation Pogba/United/Juve.

What a team ladies and gents. Signing Pogba could be the final push that allows Rooney to be benched. Midfield is well balanced with Schneiderlin, Herrera and Pogba as the most attacking. The only (realistic) improvement I can see as another quality midfielder to replace Herrera; Matuidi perhaps.
