Paul Pogba officially leaves Manchester United

Its not an opinion though, you are demanding that they word the message in a certain way. It might not make sense to you but the relationship of Pogba and the club is not only a on pitch relationship. All I'm saying is you don't have to look for many reasons as to why Pogba would get a parting message from the club. He was here in 2 spells, is an academy graduate, gave near 10 years of service to the club and the club also benefitted from him and made money off his name through stuff like marketing, shirt sales etc which helped grow our brand.
They aren't forced to give a 3 letter message or stay silent just to satisfy the whims of a certain section of our fanbase. You have a opinion on his time, same as everyone and same as the club.
I'm in no position to demand anything. Just expressed my feelings that's all. I have long realized and accepted that there is a clear disconnect between the fanbase and the club tbh. They can do whatever the feck they want, I will always express my distate for it.
10 years at the club, twice leaving on free, openly disrespecting the club, not even once doing a self review of his own shortcomings. There is little to celebrate tbh, I appreciate the rare good moments but overall it's been disappointing

The start of the player power in the dressing room when he linked up with Linkgard again.

Don't shut the door on the way out.

I have no doubt that Mourinho also wanted him. He tried to get him while at Chelsea if reports are to be believed.
Depends what you mean by “wanted him”. He wasn’t so opposed to his signing that he refused to take on the United job, that’s for certain.

Been a pleasure watching him the last five years. Not many others worthy of my £703 a season. Ultimately he was held up as the problem. Was a big part of the last successful team we had.

I believe it’s for the best on both sides that he leaves, the relationship is toxic between most fans and Pogba, he also looks like his legs are going. But his quality will need replacing. McFred, Bruno midfield is nowhere near good enough. Exciting times with ETH though. Shame we didn’t get him two years ago.

Good luck for the future, World Cup winner.

No greater example of the idea that talent is worth nothing without effort and desire

The Paul Pogba transfer is financially the worst transfer in Manchester United history. Left for free, bought him for £89m and left for free again. This mistake should never happen again. Bye Pogba, I for one won't miss you & one less unnecessary ego for ETH to worry about.

Didn't work out really, and his carefree personality could be obnoxious at times, but he seems to be a good fellow outside the pitch so can't Harbour any bad feelings towards him.

Good luck to him wherever he goes.

Feels like a real weight has lifted, get a few of the other chancers out the door and let's look forward. Couldn't care less where he goes.

Good. For the money he's cost us he's been a massive let down.

Hopefully this is a watershed moment where we start buying players with the right kind of mentality (i.e. winners) rather than being wooed by the glitz and marketing appeal of players like Pogba who are just in it for the money and raising their own personal profile.

Good move for both parties, shame ETH was signed this season, wanted to see how Pogba would have played under attacking manager like ETH.

It didn't work out as expected, so not signing extension was good move by Pogba and in a way it helped the club too, to move on.
Part of me wanted this as well, but Pogba’s increasing injury woes and apparently declining mobility make it unlikely that he’d have shown a lot.

Good for the caf, very few players divide this place like he does.

Not going to be missed either, a few excellent, some decent and mostly terrible performances. Couldn't put a lid on his agent running off his mouth in the media every 6 months (and I'm giving him the benefit of doubt here, by not blaming him for the circus instead). Delayed signing the contract the club offered him.

Although I'm glad he's gone, but he'll always be a case of what could have been, arguably one of the most talented midfielders of his generation based on skill set, could easily have been a legend at the club.

Yessssssssssssss drain the poison! Im so happy this circus is somebody else's problem now. Among the worst signings we've ever made

He’ll be at least 31 if he ever gets to play against us in the CL. He can’t hurt us anymore.

Once a red, sometimes a red.

All the best Paul, but let's not do this again.

I always personally focused on the football aspect of it. Whatever people say about player's appearances is just them being weirdos if not a lot worse than that. Tbh, I don't see the need to compare hatred level among players but more about why do the fanbase feel this or that way about said players
Fair point, I do find myself drifting towards this though the more I see discrepancies in the way the fanbase choose to judge a player as opposed to another.

I don’t spend time on other forums so I can’t say if this is a football issue or simply a United issue but the vitriol with which some players are addressed here based on non-footballing perceptions is a real turn off as a fellow fan. If opinions were solely football based this whole fiasco would have gone so much better, it’s hard not to feel disappointed as a United fan how this turned out.

I think his second spell with us is demonstrative of the shambolic running of the club in recent years. We allowed to leave for free, re-signed him for £85 million, now we let him leave for free again. Other clubs of similar size wouldn't be so amateur. Let's be honest, he didn't do much in his second spell; certainly nowhere near what we expected. It's been obvious for a long time he wasn't happy here, and I think he mentally checked out of the club a long time ago. It's best for everyone he goes now. It should be have been so much better.

A Total waste of time, money and talent from day one. Paul is a very good football player but he never showed it here. Good luck on your next chapter.

Feel no animosity towards him at all. We failed him as much as he failed us, stuck around for a lot longer than he should at detriment to both of us… Eh, it happens. Thanks for the Europa League I guess. Will always have fun memories of him celebrating with us on his own in Stockholm. Good luck to him. Juve ain’t winning the CL anytime soon either.

He barely applied his talent while a resident of Old Trafford.

But I wonder from a Woodwardian perspective whether Pogba was a worthwhile investment. Do we have any bankers of this forum who can shed light on whether Pogba more than paid fir himself in terms of social media engagement, shirt sales and other measures of “success”?

Should have sold him a couple of seasons ago when he had a good market. Fabulously talented, but just not a hard worker

2025….. United sign Paul Pogba for 500 million on 750k per week for a 10 year deal as part of their Pogback2back Instagram campaign. You heard it here first

Full of potential that was never achieved in the Premiership & would have been the same in any Premiership team . Massimo Tiabi has left more of a legacy.

If the rumours are true and we no longer offered him a contact then it gives me more confidence in ETH.

Good news.

Thanks for the three memories…his debut (one of his better games), second half at City and his deflected goal in the Europa final*

No doubt we will hear how we shouldn’t have let him go when he starts turning it on in Italy. The Lukaku effect.

Looking forward to seeing his signature move for someone else.

Jessparagus next please.

*wanted him gone since 2019 but always said he has all the talent, just not the application.

For free? Only at United

It's mad. Even if we got him to sign an extension a year ago, with the promise that we'd move him on for a year later...or something. Saying that, nobody was coming in for him either. I don't think he's necessarily endeared himself to many other potential suitors.

I'm more annoyed that he's gone for nothing rather than him leaving, which I think sums it up. Even then, it's more of a shrug. My feeling towards him going is the same feeling he probably had when he was with us. One massive shrug.
