Experience and leadership. Deschamps clearly values those. With Kanté out as well, that leaves Rabiot as their midfielder with a bit of experience. Otherwise it's mostly young players, who are obviously very talented, but inexperienced at that level.

Pogba’s 2nd and 3rd season were really really good for us, there were still issues and errors but his output made up for them. The other 4 seasons it wasn’t good and he was unlucky with injuries. Eriksen is on track for double figures of PL assists, it’s not that amazing a thing to do but I’d have snapped your hand off if offered that at the start of the season from a CM.

What makes you think that the club's medical staff would help or that he didn't listen to them? Ignoring the fact that United do not have a good track record when it comes to injuries or recoveries, in general the best specialists don't work for football clubs.

Paul Pogba his 13 league goals and 9 league assists in the 18/19 season seems more impactfull than Eriksen his current inpact. I would have liked to see second/third season Pogba in the current squad with Casemiro and Eriksen/Bruno.

People love to hate on Pogba but during his good period he was the only fun thing to watch in an otherwise not so fun to watch Manchester United. Too bad he turned into a injury prone and less good player for his later seasons.

I think he was decent in general, started the season well and generally kept fit more importantly. He had that insane purple patch when Ole came in but no one can sustain that level (he was playing CM and scored 8, assisted 6 in 10 games) so if that’s where you think he should have always been I’d say that’s just unrealistic.

If I remember correctly that advice was from the staff who misdiagnosed the severity of the injury. In order to get a surgery, a second opinion who have been required.

One word: Rashford.

That should tell you all about the medical advice from the club and how our players were treated under Ole i.e 'play them until they cannot'.

Even this injury could be put down to Pogba ignoring the club advice and going with the soft surgery (so it was described) and guaranteed problems down the line recovery just to play in the World Cup. Apparently his knee is guaranteed to relapse anyway. This is not a man who thinks long term

Pogba was a highlights player even at his peak for United.

I'd still take the current Eriksen over peak Pogba. A far more driven character who even when not at his best is absolutely everywhere on the pitch trying to keep the team ticking, never shying away from the ball and happy to help his defense out when they need it.

Pogba may have given the occasional 9/10 performance but there were far too many 5/10's in between.
Eriksen is rarely ever below 7/10

Absolutely disagree. He's just playing in a better team and he's actually fit to start these matches which Pogba hasnt been for a few years which was a major problem. Playing next to Lisandro and Casemiro, Pogba would be having the time of his life. But as we see from Juventus, he wouldnt be fit.

I thought he was great for Brentford last season, at the heart of everything good they were doing going forward. Most of his matches so far I've been dissappointed
