It's not just Pogba. People constantly mention price and I say the same thing. They didn't buy themselves. Their previous club value them at a certain price and if the club that wants them feel they're worth it, then they purchase them. It's that simple!

It's the same with Maguire.

Well, exactly. And if said player doesn’t perform at a level to justify that investment then fans will wonder if the player really was “worth it” or if the money could have been better spent on a different player.

It's strange isn't it.

He played really well tonight and just looked a lot more relaxed. I wonder whether the pressure at United has got to him and he feels like he's expected to be the man and do more than he needs to (because the fans always demand it)

He just stroked the ball around lovely tonight, looked light on his feet and made a few nice runs into the box. Defended pretty well too.

It's hard to put the finger on exactly why it isn't working for him, maybe it is just the speed of the PL is that much harder while he regains his form a fitness?

I think in EPL he has less time on the ball and pressing is much more "physical". That said, it seemed like he had an idea what to do with the ball once he got it so that's an improvement.

Then you have to wonder why said player isn't performing at the level that made the club make that investment.

I mean, it wouldn't be the first time the club has made a big investment on a player who has failed to perform on a consistent level.

Does it matter what he do with France?

I mean, the PL's fast tempo, quick pace and strong physicality are totally different compare to majority of international football games.

We're going on like he's never had any good games in a high tempo game in the EPL. Fact is, Pogba's not consistent.

I think the French team have a much simpler way of playing also which helps.

Kante and Pogba play directly infront of the centre backs and both fullbacks push on. It gives them more room to operate in and he's always got an outball either wide to the fullback or back if he can't go forwards. If he gets pressed he can run the ball out wide also.

Our defence is often so cautious that he ends up getting boxed in and has nowhere to escape to. It's the only explanation really, I don't think United's team structure really helps bring the best out of our players at all.

You’re stating the obvious again. And you still haven’t explained why fans should ignore transfer fees. With a big fee comes big expectations. Which is fair enough. Always been that way, always will be.

I'm surprised people are saying he played well against Portugal.
I wasn't fully paying attention but he seemed more or less invisible bar 1 or 2 moments that he popped up.

Still not influential enough to the level that Paul Pogba should aspire to.

Nowadays when Pogba makes a pass, he's had a good game.

It’s really annoying, me and countless others have defended him to the hill, yet he still makes little snide remarks, I’m sick of it now. He isn’t anywhere near good enough to get away with those comments, and I look forward to him continuing on the bench for us.

Get rid in January. He seems to just quote negativity about being with the club in all his international duty. Gladly like to see back of him leave the club in January. Couldn't care if he goes elsewhere and plays well. He had his time here and not good enough. Hope we are planning on his departure and bringing in a midfielder.

The absolute audacity to complain after the performances he’s put up so far this season. I’ve backed him to a point as clearly he wasn’t fit early on but he has no excuse now. He isn’t playing because he’s a total liability anywhere in his own half. That’s on him. What an entitled plonker.

This prick coming out with this needs dropping completely now. Get him out of any matchday squads. The shite he’s spouted the last two years is a disgrace and he’s a stain on the club now. I’m sure there’ll be other quotes to come out in this that people will use to spin a positive side but he’s trying to destabilise our team and for that reason he should be training in his own.

We all know we are inconsistent and I could understand his constant sniping if he was this world class talent but he isn’t. He had the potential, won the WC and never kicked on in his development. He’s a joke. A fraud deflecting the attention away from his performances. One good 45 minutes since he signed.

Problem is, who’d buy the fecker?

Can't be arsed with this guy anymore. He's got great players to play with now, can be a leader in a young squad and this is what he chooses to do. If he moves to Madrid or Juve he'll be moving to clubs in transition, the fool.

Total fecking Prima Donna. Just cut our losses and let him go. 45 million should do.

Will be interesting to see what Ole does. Ferguson would never tolerate this. And players knew this.

You would think he'd just put in a great performance for France but I thought he was very average. I wonder if it's still the Covid effect but he looks nowhere near the player we've even seen play well at Utd before.

I also don't get the snide comments thing all the time. I wonder if he's hell bent on getting move at a cheap price as he knows buying clubs are struggling with money at moment.

For him and his fan boys it's never his fault but always someone else's. People keep on raving how he is a worldclass player. I have seen enough world class players in my life and he is not one. He just has some worldclass moments that too very rare. I would swap him with Grealish right now.

That tweet seems to have added something he didnt say.

"I had never known such a difficult period in my career," he said in an interview with RTL.

"The France team is a breath of fresh air, the group is exceptional, it's magic."

France boss Didier Deschamps sympathises with the former Juventus star and hopes to help him get back to his best despite a difficult time.

"He is in a situation with his club where he cannot be happy, neither with his playing time nor with the position he is playing," Deschamps told reporters at a press conference on Monday.

"He is not in his best period, he has had a series of injuries and Covid-19, which has hit him quite hard. He needs to find his rhythm.

"We can't say that he is fulfilled in what he does at club level. With me, there is no such concern, but I try to manage it too. When a player is not comfortable at his club, obviously, he is happy to play for the France team."

Thoroughly bored of anything Pogba-related off the field. I'll care how he's doing on the field and whether or not he's in the starting lineups/match day squads. But, aside from that, I'm bored with the off-field stuff.

If his words have been spun....don’t bother waiting for those already jumping in to apologise
