Pretty much. Whats the most disappointing with this his his lack of fight. You can tell DDG have responded well to the challenge of facing tougher competition for his place. After Bruno has arrived I feel like Pogba has almost just given up. It's really sad to see really talented players struggle with those things.
Add Shaw with Telles regarding players responding to competition

I feel a bit sorry for him now because I think he does legit love the club and he is good person and good bloke. He’s too good to be on a bench but we just can’t seem to make it work.

We're in a weird position now, where we know we can't "risk" him in his main position. So have to shoehorn him in where he has at least 2 midfielders behind him at every stage.

Definitely needs a parting of ways at some point soon, as it's no use having a supremely gifted player if you can't make it work regularly.

Still think we need a midfielder like Pogba to break down low blocks. A Fred-McTominay midfield is mostly useless in those games, as we saw against Spurs in the league and Norwich in the FA Cup last season.

At this point I feel Ole feels obligated to bring him on, did nothing to warrant coming on ahead of Van de Beek.

So do we think he is fully fit now and just not being selected?

I suppose he needs a world class DM behind him and very good players all round him to really shine regularly. As it is he is a microcosm of the team’s main problem, he is inconsistent.

He sure is a sight to see when he’s on song but let him go elsewhere and we can enjoy his occasional brilliance from a distance with £60mil in the bank.

Ole is a big fan. Right now he is caught between his love for Pogba and how the necessity to bench him

I have to think the price tag plays a part as well though, not many managers have the power to leave out a £89M player without even using him as a sub.

we've had a problem with low blocks for years, the same time Pogba's been first choice in midfield

we don't need him for anything

I’m not sure what he needs to be more consistent. I think the rotation approach is working well plus it’s nice to see Ole dropping players even though they have big status. He does try hard and he is probably taking the rotation quite hard I imagine. But ultimately, he can feck off to Madrid if that’s what he wants.

We knew it was

Yeah I was thinking the same. It's getting complicated because van de Beek might be even more useful in the last 30 minutes of a game.
The season is long and I guess Ole wants to keep everybody happy, but it's a tough one.

He is not committed, when we really needed a result today he was benched that will tell you all you need to know, getting appearances to keep him in the shop window.

I don't understand why people label him as "inconsistent". Rashford misses 3 sitters one game and scores hattrick next game - that's inconsistent.
If Pogba doesn't produce moments of brilliance, he shouldn't be called that. He is just in pretty bad form, and that's it.

Exactly. He doesn't solve any of our issues.

Rashford has inconsistent peformances, Pogba has inconsistent effort.

He's a lovely player from the bench. Wouldn't mind Ole using him like this more often than not if it's decided that he's off next summer.

Dropping Pogba cost Mourinho his job, will be interesting to see if Ole gets backing if he can't play Pogba into form.

Replacing Paul is expensive, replacing Ole is cheap. Unless we don't think we can build a team around Paul anymore.

I think he has fitness issues at the moment.

prepared to give him more time, and he doesn’t seem to be taking being out of the team badly.

You dont build your team around a MF. You build it around an attacker or attackers.

If Ole keeps the team winning, he could send Pogba to U-12, and no-one would care.

He's not complaining for what it's worth, we're not seeing any agent trouble. He knows he has to work hard to get in the team. I think Ole is dealing with this well.

Nah no one cares about Pogba anymore. Ole would get in more trouble for playing him.
Everyone has given up on Pogba now whereas back when Mourinho was the manager everyone still had hopes for Pogba.
I think most fans nowadays are happy with Pogba coming off the bench and seeing as little of him as possible.
At best he is a super sub now, at worst he doesnt play, either way, doubt anyone cares.

To Pog's credit, he's really good at coming on as a sub and playing his way round tired players. We don't see it when he starts which suggests to me he'd be better in a slower league.

I do think thats a huge part of it. PL just doesnt fit him. He would be better elsewhere.

Ole thought he’d get positive results with Pogba and Bruno in the team and VDB would be first sub who would rotate a lot. Pogba plays horribly but Ole can’t fully drop the clubs record signing so Donny gets limited games. It might get a bit messy down the road but it’s ok for now. Pogba really should leave if he can’t be one of our leading players. He’s had nearly 5 years and it’s not worked, he’s not a leader on the pitch and that’s what we are still lacking the most. He’s a luxury we can’t afford to persist with anymore. In a perfect world we’d have been able to build a good team with leaders around him and get him playing consistently but I think that ship has sailed. I’m also wondering why the club hasn’t opened contract talks with him yet seeing as they are so keen to protect their assets. It’s looking much more likely he’s off than signing a new deal.

Team results matter more than any individual. It seems Ole has not yet lost the players despite the teams' inconsistency. Anyway, Bruno will get tired, injured or banned and Pogba will be needed to fill that hole. Unless of course, DVB can prove capable.

It's also a signal to Pogba the team functions well without him and to find a club in January. He'll be out of contract and will be able to sign pre-contract terms with other clubs on 1st January 22. Unless he signs a contract United have too much to lose financially if he goes on a free.

In all honesty, I didn't see a big problem in his performance off the bench. Perhaps it's because I don't have high expectations of him being a starting CM at United. Certainly not as part of a double pivot anyway.

Nonsense, shit result and all around negativity got the better of Mourinho. Why are you rewriting history ? If the team gets results and Pogba is on the bench, Ole will never be in trouble.

This situation isn't feasible long term. Some players can accept that role and some will never
Agreed but who's gonna cough up the money to sign him? I think he'll realise soon enough that there aren't any takers at the transfer fee + raiola fee + wages it'd take to get him and he'll sign an extension here.

He's been woefully out of form and deserves dropping to the bench, however it's much more likely we make a title challenge at some point with Pogba in the team than out of it.

I'd like to see the diamond again, once Telles is back up and running, especially as we're currently shoehorning Mata on the RW with Greenwood not playing.

Was ok when he came on, which kind of sums him up for me but It’s always an exciting time on international breaks with Pogba, can’t wait to hear what little snippets he comes up with.
