I'm happy to see him show what he's capable of, and sure the position change has helped him because that is where, historically, he's always played his best football. However, we have to see how consistent he can be now. I think his issues had less to do with his position, or motivation in a mediocre team (for most of his time here at least, this season and Mou's second being different), and more to do with just fitness. He's dealt with a serious injury, that was not properly managed, had set backs, then COVID hit him and not everybody recovers the same from that. It's just been a really rough season. I don't think Pogba is the kind of player who is picking and choosing when to turn up, any professional of his ilk wants to turn up every game, but he just didn't seem like it could and his physical issues engendered mental ones where he played just piss-poor football, brain-dead at times.
I truly hope United fans get to see the best of Pogba, because he has been so maligned not just as a player but as a person which is shameful from some on here. His agent is not helping matters one bit, granted, but Pogba himself is a class person and player and I hope he gets to show that. If he is to leave, it'd be pretty great end to his story at United to leave with that long-awaited 21 for their fans. I reckon Pogba is a massive United fan himself, genuinely wanted to come back here and make things right, and so it would be pretty poetic but I could also see him stay because he does love this club.
