He was awful today. Did very little on the ball.
No it’s not.
He had been awful since he came back from suspension, plus the negative impact from missing those key games. He was awful today. Did very little on the ball.
Felt sorry for him today. He played fairly well but was let down by those ahead of him, who were all terrible.
You get the point I'm making, I hate these one line posts that do nothing to reply to the actual argument I'm making. I've gotten about 10 of those in the last week and it's beyond annoying.
Neither am I. Plenty of evidence to illustrate this.Still not at all convinced by him.
Jesus. No was also very very below par
Were we watching the same game? He was good in the first half and quiet in the second. At worst an average performance
I don’t get the point. A £90million footballer who constantly gets excused for a number of reasons when he doesn’t perform ‘he’s just come back from an injury’, ‘he’s rusty’, ‘he’s not playing in the right position’. I could go on. How is it not fair to criticise him? Can he only play well when he’s 100% fit and got match rhythm and in his so called correct position? Because if that’s the case he’ll never be the dominant midfielder we want him to be.
I disagree. Matic, being our second defender, looked for the ball, drove forward with the ball, was on the front foot, sprayed passes, and tried to unlock the defense. Those should be Pogba's job. He didn't do it at all, he hid from the ball and all he did was wave whoever had the ball forward. He was at no point looking for the ball.Unfair to criticise him because Rojo going off meant Matic essentially become our second defender, and Pogba had to drop deep often. Would've been far better to keep him up top as that's where he does the most damage. With hindsight a bad choice by Mou I think to drop Matic and Pogba back so deep.

I guess yeah, but he's not helped by the fact that not one of our attacking players can neither beat a man nor know how to make a forward run. Matic despite all his efforts ended up passing it to the wing to whip a cross in 90% of the time. The other 10% he passed it into traffic in the middle.
It was people clutching at straws trying to find every excuse under the sun, and pile on pressure on one player. His performance was ok but the idea our performance as a team hinges on him should end now. That's not his fault but is nevertheless true.
It was never the case. We have many good players. It's lazy and convenient to blame all our problems on an injured player which is what people hid behind. His performance was ok but the idea our performance as a team hinges on him should end now. That's not his fault but is nevertheless true.

Agreed. He is a creator and needs to be played higher up the pitch. Him and Matic are not that awesome duo to form a brilliant midfield. Lots of questions marks over Utd's tactics and playing style.I keep saying this but he is not the uber-intelligent playmaking CM that runs the show. He is not your Scholes who does every absolutely on poing. He will hold on to the ball too long or release it too early. Essentially, he is a creator. Let him be that, and stop expecting him to be the guy that orchestrates our play. I dont think he's got it in him to do that to an elite level. He's never struck me as having that decision making, split second vision, etc

It wouldn't be long before they pin it on the absence of Valencia. It's a common excuse, from Pereira to Perisic to Pogba. It was never the case. We have many good players. It's lazy and convenient to blame all our problems on an injured player which is what people hid behind.
And what was the result in the last 3 games? But whatever makes you sleep easy my friend. It's not that plain and simple. The three games he missed:
City (L)
Brighton (W)
WBA (W)
We were pretty bland in all three. Completely missing in the first half against City, struggled to break down Brightons defence and, bar a good 20 minute period against WBA, we were fairly hit and miss.
However, since he returned, we were pretty good against Leicester but you conveniently ignore games that don't fit your agenda. And, we created a fair few chances against a team camped in their half for 88 minutes, today.
As an attacking outlet, we're far better with Pogba on the pitch. Since he came back, we've been let down by some absolutely criminal defending and some comical finishing.

One moment it was always about the result and not the performance and now it's not? I wonder who is the one driving an agenda. You don't think we've been better in the last two games?
Some of us don't need an agenda to help us live our everyday lives.
Agree to some extend that Pogba helps us to be more creative which we struggled without him, but we're not outright better since his current underwhelming form. We exposed ourselves, and Pogba ain't creating at strong rate which can warrant us to outdo our (& Pogba's) own undoings. Right now we're doing square one in progression. At least we're seeing more attacking is positive I guessYou don't think we've been better in the last two games?
