Had a poor game against one of the strongest sides in Europe and he's trash
I honestly don't know why you feel so attached to him and desperate to big him up? He's just a random player at Lecce — you don't owe him anything.Had a poor game against one of the strongest sides in Europe and he's trash
People are writing him off after 45 minutes. Peak RedCafe kneejerk.I honestly don't know why you feel so attached to him and desperate to big him up? He's just a random player at Lecce — you don't owe him anything.
I'm not 100% sure Lecce would get out of League One.
Surely the bar for joining United for £30m should be really really high? The default assumption about any player should be "they're not good enough for us," unless there's strong evidence to the contrary.People are writing him off after 45 minutes. Peak RedCafe kneejerk.
He might be shite but this game in isolation proves feck all.
I posted for the stats in the gameSofascore ratings
He most certainly wasn’t a 7.1 performance.
Seen enough, get him out of the club!
We don't need to sell Garnacho to afford him.My gripe with signing him is, we have dire financial position and we would probably have to offload Garnacho or somebody to be able to afford him. Currently he is not very good to have instant impact in PL, so we are at a net loss and will make the team weaker (if its 1 in and 1 out).
If we intend to keep Garna and sign him anyway, even then these sort of signings are more of punts like Malacia (under 15m), if it works great, if not you can recoup the money. We are potentially shelling 34M Pounds for him, which is too much and not financially viable keeping in view our position.
I would rather just continue with the current players we have, wait for Shaw to get fit and try Malacia every now and then. Not that we are fighting for champions league places, even Europa league looks a tough ask for us. Hopefully we get easier draws in Europa league and Shaw is fit for later stages and we get lucky.
I think you've mentioned that in about 50 posts today. I've spent too much timevrefreshing the caf aimlessly hoping for some transfer news to get excited about. We don't need to sell Garnacho to afford him.
Would you like to prove that because it's absolute bollocks...I think you've mentioned that in about 50 posts today. I've spent too much timevrefreshing the caf aimlessly hoping for some transfer news to get excited about.
One more week and i can just get back to thinking about our performances

He’s playing in back 4 no? I’d be slightly worried if Lecce were playing with wing backs and he was putting this on.
Of course there’s the factors of
If he’s good at getting forward and can provide good cutbacks, passes and stretch defences then good to know. He’s going to a key attacking outlet in Amorim’s system, rather than a brick wall to stop the opposition scoring. That’ll be offset by the fact we use 3 CBs.
- He’s playing against one of the best teams in Europe (let alone Italy)
- He’s playing in a team that’s tittering on the relegation places
- He’s barely out of teenagehood
- The distraction of being linked with a move away
- The distraction of being linked with a move to a major football club (which I imagine for a kid his age is mind blowing)
- The fact he may be taking it easy because he doesn’t want to risk injury for this life changing move
I get that some fans are super paranoid about who we buy now because previous regimes picked out some duds and in numerous cases overpaid for them, but we’re not destined to always buy duds. I remember the summer when some fans were going mental that we bought Mazraoui because he’s injury prone. He hasn’t missed a game for us through injury so far (touch wood)

I watched the Lecce game today, my first ever. It was also the first time I watched Dorgu play a full game, he was not great but you could see that he has the potential to be a good player.I would wager a bet that not a single person on here had watched a full Lecce match? Isn’t this just a case of a player looking great on highlights, but when you actually watch 90mins they don’t stand out at all, and you also get to see the mistakes they make?
Heck, a compilation of Darwin Nunez best plays he looks like a world beater, but when you watch him play regularly you see the limitations. To me, dorgu looks to already be playing at a team of his level.
He's a punt though. And not a cheap one. We lose more often than we win on this type of deal. From what I'm seeing in the clips of the player, he looks to be technically very good for a 20 year old. We're gonna have to be patient with him because he's still a very young player but it seems he has a string technical and physical foundation that can be moulded further as he develops and matures.
I think this potential deal looks like a calculated risk with the hope that the player can develop even further. He's still very young and hence will be raw, but if the football hierarchy feel he has the tools to develop into a top class player then I hope they sign him. I think if Dorgu was at Leipzig or Dortmund he'd probably cost more than the £33m Lecce are wanting. And that £33m includes add ons so the total upfront fee will likely be less. He's a punt though. Can't dribble at all. 35% success rate. For comparison Dalot is at 52% and Maz at 66%.A few times today I felt that Maz had the opportunity to run/ dribble with the ball, but got caught up by the chasing defender.
Now if this kid is fast and can dribble , maybe we will start looking more dynamic..
I suppose the counter-argument there is that if he was at BVB or Leipzig then he'd be more proven. He's not though, he's very young and very raw and we're operating on the possibility of him reaching an entirely hypothetical ceiling. I'm tempted to suggest that we promote a youngster for the remainder of the league season, which is basically over already. Someone like Mantato for instance.I think this potential deal looks like a calculated risk with the hope that the player can develop even further.
