Patrick Dorgu | United in talks

Yoro and Dorgu really are examples of the perfect profile of players we should be looking to sign.

Fingers crossed....

"20 years old" might make you think that he lacks experience. But keep in mind that this is 140 in Dorgu years!

He's a bit of a ladies man as well from what i have heard. Always asking them if they have ever tried it Dorgu style

I think it's much further ahead than most believe, too many credible sources really pushing it and Antony, Rashford & Garnacho hardly get any game time anyway, we would only have to recruit 1 player to replace all 3 realistically

There’s a good chance you are right about Garnacho, I think what Ornstein said is very likely to be true that there are a lot of players being discussed in terms or exits and arrivals. They won’t all happen but have to be prepared if and when they do.

The Antony loan if is includes even a small fee and saving on his wages probably frees up the cash to move for Dorgu as spread over 5 years his fee would be relatively modest. Obviously if Garnacho goes or opens up a lot more possibilities, Rashford on loan probably finances another move for a younger and cheaper signing like Dorgu.

Don't know much about him so can't really say if he would improve us , but good to see we seem at least to be targeting athlete type players.

This team so badly needs an injection of pace and physicality.

This doesn't particularly inspire me. We needs someone who can take a man on and he seems to do a lot of cutting back and passing.

I’m not familiar with the player - so can’t really comment regarding his strengths/playstyle. That clip was the first thing that popped up on my timeline right after the Ornstein tweet that we are in talks (algorithm) - and it seems it’s a comp from a single game

I never watch him but based on his height (185cm) and the amount of various positions he has played in his career, I think he’s certainly will improve our physicality and versatility, and will provide cover for both LWB and RWB. He’s going to be an interesting signing.

Anything to not see Dalot at leftback again. Fee looks a little too high though as usual when United goes shopping
Pretty much. I know people hate on him a lot, but being able to move Dalot to the right is also a plus. Dorgu left, Dalot right would be an improvement on both wings compared to Dalot left, Mazraoui right.

I'm not sure that's true at all, unless you think the same team is going to play every week and there won't be any injuries? Malacia is meant to be leaving too. Who's going to make up the bench?

Garnacho won't leave in January.

We still have options I think as Casemiro/ Eriksen aren't going anywhere in midfield, defense we have a few options and we would have Dalot, Amad, Maz & a new signing (Maybe Dorgu) to play wide areas and as I said with one more in the AM I think we would be Ok until the end of the season.

Garnacho is going nowhere

Just to clarify my position, I don't want Garnacho to leave, my son idolises him and if he's getting game time recently maybe he is starting to knuckle down but there is a lot of talk from places worth believing.

I think that's exactly it, they line everything up and put the potentials down and then pull the levers on those they think will benefit the team as a whole and while I love Garnacho and don't want him to love, we have to accept that nobody is bigger than the club and we need to back the manager. Let's see as I think there is a lot of potential for the last 11 days but I don't have a lot of faith in the lot upstairs

our left back target is most rated for his games as a right winger/midfielder

6.2 and 6.9 aren't that huge a difference plus his versatility hopefully means he is not one dimensional and can aid the build up since he has played AM and CM. He could also be useful for in game changes without really making a ton of subs.

If it means Dalot is benched, I'm fully behind it.
I think it's more likely he starts at RWB. We still need an upgrade there too, but he's more physically suited to it than Mazraoui. Maz has been caught out a fair bit recently, he's looked best as the RCB in this system, in my opinion anyway

I really like him as a prospect, but I don’t know if he can contribute as our clear LWB straight away.

He’s on the right wing in half of that compilation posted. Weird.

GK higher priority imo. Hard to get a decent one during Jan though

If we are going to spend on a new leftback, might as well go out there and get the best? Like Nuno Mendes
Nuno Mendes looks to be way too expensive and seems interested in staying at PSG. United are still skint, this guy looks talented, don't see a problem with it, especially because of his versatility, means with Antony leaving he can cover LWB as his primary but depending on how we play we could utilise him on the right too

They're a bottom half team playing with a back four so probably not that surprising he's been moved about a bit. Our own best RWB is playing as a 10 most games.

Not exactly opposed to this, but a couple of red flags for me - another Seria A player, but this time from the bottom half, and he doesn't even play on the left a lot. Plus, it's another one for the future, although I guess it fits with this supposed 2028 goal.

Is there really no way to get Rayan Aït-Nouri?

Yeah there is potential for a lot to happen, even if Garnacho goes I’m not expecting a huge amount spent on any individual player but we could see 4-5 out and 2-3 in.

Like you I’m not eager to see Garnacho leave but we kind of have to accept the reality of our situation and at least try to do something about it.

Looks like he’d be comfortable at LWB and RWB which is a bonus

I’m all for signing highly rated youngsters let’s get it done
