Paramore

Yeah, ok, I take your point.

I have major issues with almost any American attempt at punk, post-Ramones, but that's a discussion for another thread. I fooking haaaaaate Green Day, Blink 182 and their ilk.

I mean it in the nicest possible way, but that comments fairly ignorant.

I imagine you've only experienced singles by either band.

Both triggered new movements in music (in Blink 182's case aload of shite bubblegum guitar pop but still).

Ignorant? It's a personal opinion, that's all. I just hate their music. It does nothing for me.

I haven't listened to any albums, that's true but I tend not to buy or listen to albums which feature singles I detest that much.

Yeh it's a personal opinion based on what i'd view as not enough evidence.
So it's more an educated geuss aint it, as those genre's obviously aren't your thing?

Hence the 'ignorant' comment, which is probably a little harsh but i can't think of another word for it .

I wouldn't even compare Green Day and Blink a great deal.

To credit Green Day with triggering the pop punk movement is a bit of a stretch, like blaming Calvin Haris for the 80's.

Haha.

Maybe, but they brought it to the mainstream post Nirvana, along with The Offspring.

Bands like NOFX had been knocking about underground for years, but never got airplay over here.

Not like 'Basket Case', which if put on at any party in the country right now, will still be recognised.

Wow didn't take this thread to go in the same direction of literally every other thread that even hints at a controversial pop punk band. I like paramore, its cheesy and not exactly profound music. But meh I don't care, I like the cheesy pop punk bands. Fenix TX and Never Heard Of It for instance still remain two of my favourite bands. Plus, as has been pointed out, Hayley is luverly.

Plus one or whatever they say nowdays.

Jesus wept. They are an abomination.

Do you have the time to listen to me whine?
