Paralympic's London 2012 Opening Ceremony

stole this of Facebook but sums it all up really.

This was a night about ability NOT Disability it`s what people can do and overcome they take their places in that stadium as elite athletes competing equal terms ,who earned the right to represent their country no matter were they are from..

I wonder how many people started watching and didnt last until the end? all the flag waving bollocks must send many to sleep, especially this late on a school night!

Shame as the actual show was pretty damn good - not as good as the other opening ceremony, but a vast improvement on the closing one.

also thought I'd flag this up in this thread seeing as I've had this track on repeat all week ...

it is not actually a great video but for those who were wondering what the track from that quality paralympics advert is ...

Public Enemy - Harder Than You Think

the actual advert is cool as feck:

Meet the Superhumans

Just got to say that the rendition of the national anthem at the opening ceremony really was brilliant.

This is so true! Since I have been watching the Paralympics and seeing interviews of the athletes, I have shed so much tears. Respect and salute to all of them not just the medallists. It's very touching and we should all be moved by seeing how much better they can do than those with full limbs, body parts, and full function of their senses.

Agreed! We are very proud of both Olympics presentation and the Paralympics. The world is watching with envy for sure.
