If Arsenal go through today, hopefully that get a fixture in the same midweek. Otherwise, it is unnecessarily a major disadvantage to us.

The biggest and best teams have the busiest schedules. If ETH wants to make us a dominant, top team again, we will have to get used to it.

Ultimately, the scheduling has to be done with the mindset of planning for the worst and hoping for the best. If we keep progressing in all the cups, we won’t have enough free midweeks to play all our games without playing at every opportunity.
 
So.. Arsenal arent getting their game vs Everton rescheduled to this window too? Despite them being in the exact same situation as us

Except it's not the exact same situation. They don't have a likely two-legged league cup semi and then a potential final. They don't have the pointless two-legged EL play-off, because they did the job and won their group. They'll likely get dumped by City in the next FA cup round too. They have loads of midweeks and potentially weekends to get that extra game played. We don't.

We got fecked over with the stupid policing issues when that old lady was having her funeral. The Leeds match should've really been played as scheduled.

However, we only have ourselves to blame for losing to Sociedad at home. That has given us a real headache schedule wise. Two unnecessary extra games and those against fecking Barcelona. Had we done our job in that group the Palace match would've moved to one of those Barcelona midweeks instead.
 
And to think some on this thread and elsewhere thought it was good news for the Palace game to be played in between the City and Palace games..

Arsenal should have played a midweek game as well. They keep getting these little slices of luck which you need to win the league.
 
We had to play this game at this point because of the shambles in 2022.

Having said that, scheduling has been annoying to us several times this year - we got two games cancelled with the Queen's passing while others got 1. This meant we came into the City away game cold and even if we may have lost anyway, I think it played a part. The Aston Villa away loss was also partly due to fatigue and the ref then proceeded to screw us over in that game.

We also made trouble for ourselves by not winning the EL group, leaving less midweeks free to reschedule.

However, we've also had a decent draw in both cups, especially compared to the usual. So if we make top 4 and win a cup, it'll be a great season for EtH
 
The fixtures are a joke, but through the passing of the Queen been made worse the FA put the game in between City and Arsenal then says sorry OK fair enough it has to be played Arsenal are behind as well so why didn't the FA put fixture in same midweek??

The plus points are that we're in all comps thats why fixture list is manic and I'd rather be in comps than out . Just need to dig deep to gey through.

I believe Arsenal need to play City but City are playing Spurs tonight but Spurs will be a game ahead of everyone else after tonight.

Every other slot until the end of the season is taken if we keep progressing in the cups. The only alternative is they assume we get knocked out of one of the cups but if that backfires then we'd be having 3 games in 5 days kind of scenarios towards the business end.
 
This is where squad depth comes involved. We don’t have that yet but hopefully next season we improve the squad quality. ETH is a man that wants all trophies no matter what they are and for that we need not only a big squad but a quality one.

Much as winning Europa League gets us in pot 1 of Champions League it could lead to us running out of steam for top 4
