Pakistan vs India ODI

I am not watching the game..

He has completed his ton of 110 balls with 10 fours plus one six..

Polished innings.

Here is a snippet on how it was made

Tendulkar, who had gotten to 51 off 66 balls and, in the process, been completely upstaged by his partners, raced to his 39th ODI hundred off the 5th ball of the 45th over, scoring his second 49 runs off just 46 deliveries. To the very next ball, an attempted reverse sweep off Arshad Khan saw the finger go up for the LBW; the batsman was very unlucky in that the ball had gone off his glove onto pad; uncharacteristically, Sachin made his feelings very clear as he walked off.

Was just looking at the scorecard (its looking really close right now, by the way) and noticed Inzy's been given out for 'obstructing the field.' Can anybody who's watching fill in the details?

Yeah
Bit of a controversy. He hit the shot and was just ambling back when throw came and he hit it with his bat. He was out of the crease and Indian appealed, Umpires gave him out. He was still angry after the end of the match.
Apparently even against England he was out in similar fashion.

We should have scored atleast 350. After 44 overs we were 300+ and only 4 wickets down. Threw it away

This was Tendulkar's 48th ODI century! And yet another ODI in which he scores a century and India lose...

I bet you Indian fans wish he got out at 99 more often. ;)

Only kidding, it was a very good century and the only really bad shot was a silly attempt at a reverse sweep straight after his 100 which LBW'ed him. OK, the LBW was incorrectly called as it hit his glove first but that was hard to spot from the umpire's position (plus Rauf is probably one of the worst umpires you'll see anywhere).

I'd lost count of his one-day centuries. But 48!!!! Thats an obscene number. Can't be right surely. Late 30s is more likely to be right

I'll catch the highlights later but I see we lost by duckworth-lewis. Play called off due to bad light. Pity. Spoiled what could've been a cracking finish. Surely the could've played the last couple of overs. Lazy cnuts.

39 hundreds.. best one day batsman ever, easily..

Sorry, it was 39. That's still bl00dy impressive. Plus the 14000 runs thing as well.

He's just a selfish player, clearly. ;)

Funniest dismissal iv seen in ages..
WTF was inzi thinking?

Sorry missed todays action, what did the pundits think of Pakistan taking the light ?

No idea.. but i dont think we can complain. I think we would have lost as it is, and we need to do something about our bowling..

Thanks Amol.

Personally, niether Zaheer or Agarkar are worthy of a place, it's also difficult for players like Kaif to come in after being on the sidelines for Months and expect them perform at international level...I would much rather have a consistent team in tests and one dayers, maybe just slight tinkering.

Frankly, im not really concern about our batting. Wev got so much batting talent in this country, lots of young good batsman lined up. But the bowling is a big worry.

Pathan is fine.. hel do a great job for the next decade, with bat and ball. Zaheer is a worry, hes lost lots of pace and unlike Pathan it affects him. Hes the type of bowler than hits the deck hard, never has been one to get lots of movement.. so the lack of pace makes him a very average bowler. When he first came he was quick, got bounce, subtle movement and had the variety.

Chappel should look at this as one of his aims, to sort our pace bowling out. Nehra was someone i had high hopes for, because he was pretty quick and swung the ball quite alot.. but hes always injured and never gets a decent run of games in. What we need is proper fast bowler, someone who can hit 140+ regularly. There are these two youngsters, whose names iv constantly heard being brought up, both who are supposed to be very quick.. Munav Patel and VRV Singh.. hopefully they will be nurtured properly.

You Indians have got Inzamam angry. Don't get him angry. You won't like it when he's angry.

;-)

:D

That's right, when he's angry he turns from a quiet, mild mannered pandoo into a huge green giant ready to bash anything that gets in his way.

cheers sounds like a fine innings, makes you wonder why he doesn't just go out in the tests and let fly for a while ,he has the shots.

He had trouble in handling the in cutting deliveries moving off the seam. A technical glitch and way back in 99 he was Razzaq's bunny. He had adjusted his stance now a days but the Pakistanis did their homework on him and followed it up from where they left.

'bunny' is a nice fluffy word. I was thinking more in the lines of biatch.

;)

Your talking about one of the greatest of all time. Everyone goes through blips in form.. hes barely had one. Hes averaging well over 50 in the last two years. Was unlucky to get a bad bounce in the final test last innings. He has developed a weakness against the incoming delivery, but its not half as big a deal as some people make it out to be.

Done....;)

We should have won the series by now.
Anyway excellent stuff but we need another striker bowler. Could have wrapped them up before 200 after their poor start.

Brilliant victory.
Havent seen such exciting cricket for ages. Thought Pathan and RP Singh did really well, but Zaheer and SreeSanth let us down. But what a batting performance.. Asif and Gul bowled quite briliantly, the ball really was swinging both ways and greatly. At that point, i didnt think we had much of a chance. Sachin and Dravid, two of the most technically gifted players there can be, playing and missing and looking so lost.. didnt look good at all. But they stuck it out and IMO that was the partnership that gave us atleast a chance of getting even close to Pakistan.. Sachins innings was fabulous.. he was looking shakey and uncertain but his quality of being a fighter came through(doesnt get enuff credit for that) and he played a really special knock.

I think Yuvraj has come of age. Hes now looking like the player we all believed he had the talent to be. His timing and authority in the middle is rare.. and now hes looking solid. That was always his problem. He would one day turn it on and the other day lose concentration.. hes now looking like he could maybe fullfil his potential. Finally, MS Dhoni, what an innings, just when Pakistanis got back into the game, he took it away.. that was one of the more memorable innings iv seen in awhile.. under pressure, against Pakistan, doesnt get better than that.

Result apart, was finally some cricket in recent times, which felt like a contest. Although it was a highscoring game, i think the groundsman deserves credit. It had a lot of swing early on for both teams with the new ball.. and then later eased out. Great game of cricket allround.

It's only one day cricket. Rubbish stuff. Only for morons.

I hope that's the last of the match-fixed one dayers. Blimey, its been tough this weekend, wake up early and then wish you'd slept right through!

Can we have Rana back on our side now? I would like to kick him so hard he lands in Afghanistan, then the US can do their friendly fire stuff on him.

Another excuse for never having won the world cup. Sad. Bangladesh may just win it before you.

hehehe You're not bitter at all.

I'm not bitter. I'm too angry to be bitter. Bitter will come tomorrow!

Well we came back from 2-1 down last time to win it 3-2, so there is still hope for you.
