Oxegen 2011

That does'nt suprise me, some of the stuff you experience over that weekend is insane, we'd a naked lad with a horse mask run round our camp and freely put out cigarettes with the top of his exposed penis.

feck, I'd love to see the Arctic Monkeys and The Strokes.

From what I've heard the red was'nt as bad as the blue last year, don't know where to go this time round.

Blue is full of savages, much more Dublin feel to Red camp with some culchies around it too. Good craic was had.

Oxegen is a rip off, and shit.

Cheaper to go to a proper festival like Sziget, even after the flights are paid for.

even EXIT in serbia.

£89 for 4 days, and the line-up's class.

we're shafted in the UK/ireland, i've stopped bothering with the bigger festivals and just do the independent ones.

Did you:-

Jump on a tent that wasn't your own?
Set fire to a tent that wasn't yours?
Piss on a tent?
Kick over a tent?
Sing or chant IRA 300million times while down there?
Steal anything?

If the answer is yes to any one of them then I'm afraid you're a scumbag.

That sums up Oxegen perfectly. Me & 3 mates went about 6yrs ago & promised never to go back. It was chaos alot of the time, with kids completely out their heads acting like scumbags. Its a free-for-all. My mates Sister & her mates went down & had 3 tents set on fire - there was some of them sleepin in one of the tents aswell. They were unhurt, but about 12 of them had to sleep in one tent on the last nite.

Anyone considering goin need to take all the negatives onboard because you will never see so many scumbags in any one place at any one time - its feckin sickening, so be careful..

If you're goin to a festival in Ireland then Electric Picnic is a good choice. Its expensive & the line-ups arent the best in the world, but the vibe is a fun, mature & friendly one. There's lots to do aswell, you can even go to the Circus or have a fake marriage like i did - great craic that was..

Less than 2 weeks now. Absolutely physcked! Went for the first time last year and had the best weekend of my life. Beer, friends and great music. What more can a young fella ask for? Let's do it!

You sound like one of them squares that don't want to be offered drugs every four minutes. Shut up, square.

Two guys last year at Oxegen offered me ecstasy pills that were "speckled with heroin". All I had to do was bring 80 euro out to the car park and they'd get them from their car. Although it was a fantastic bargain and the prospect of speckled heroin was hard to resist, I had to say no.

:D

can't believe that one's still going round... who'd cut pills with something costing more than MDMA?! and 80 euro ffs. if you're going to fill someone in, at least make it slightly appealing.

bigger festivals bring out the underbelly of the lowest of society.

Yea I told him that was the stupidest thing I'd ever heard and he was still trying to convince me. His plan was probably to get me back to the car park where the rest of his gypsy friends were waiting and then jump me and take the money.

Are the rubber bandits still about? I would have thought they'd be back to doing whatever people do when they're not selling novelty songs.

Im heading down on Sunday

Primal Scream are playing Belsonic in Belfast and playing all of Screamadelica

would be amazing

Just home from my 1 day excursion. Afrojack was incredible.

Just back today, good weekend, Coldplay stole the show. Plan B was class too and a few more. Heard about the stabbings, apparently some looper in a tiger print jump-suit.

it wasnt amanda brunker was it ?:nervous:

she was unxious

Were the arctic monkeys good? I heard they played Mardy bum (Majorly jealous if true)

Arctic Monkeys were great as soon as half-way through the set they realised their old material was getting the reactions and they stuck to it.

They said after their third album that they weren't going to play songs like Mardy Bum, When the Sun Goes Down, and Teddy Picker anymore. Thankfully they seem to have changed their mind.
