Out of contract XI - who would you take?

Donnarumu is 21. Draxler is 27. I doubt Ole only wants teenagers. You gotta have experience and talent mixed in with the youths. We have virtually zero leaders as a consequence and look to bottle most opportunites. We aren't a youth academy. Guys like Alaba will add experience winning pros to the dressing room. Ramos too. Chelsea signed Thiago Silva and it has been positive.

I didn’t say he only wanted teenagers but if you want to make this up as you go along, that’s fine by me.

‘Guys like Alaba and Ramos’ have used clubs like United to like get new contracts and wage hikes on an almost annual basis. They would be on exorbitant wages that then need to be justified.

My point and opinion still stands. I wouldn’t rush to get any of them.

Not sure Ramos would compliment Maguire but I'd love to see him in a United shirt. He's a cnut - I know, but I'd like him to be our cnut.

Ramos YES
Aguero is criminally underrated by Pep

Every single one of those players would make us better but the above are the only ones I want.
Messi would actually be the only one I’d try and drive back to Barca. As good as he is, crippling for the club, awful individual.

Donnarumma would be worth monitoring given de Gea's decline and because I'm still not sold on Henderson as first choice.

Realistically I can't see us moving for any of them though. I've heard that Messi guy is half decent?

Do you think he's had a sufficient amount of time in goal for us to make that decision?

Maybe not, but that's why I said monitor. There's no harm in exploring other options for the summer while we figure it out but I don't think we'll be that proactive as I think Solskjaer likes both keepers.

Honestly I’d only take the keeper. The days of giving huge salaries to players looking for their last big pay day are hopefully over.

absolute tripe

Donnarumma, Ramos and Messi.

Donnarumma
AWB Ramos Slabhead Shaw
Fred Pogba
Messi Bruno Rashford
Cavani

Honestly, we’d win the treble.
Unless we got Stoke away in the 5th Round of the FA cup.

I've never liked Ramos - I think he's always been vastly overrated and I certainly wouldn't want him at the age of 35.

You can probably make a case for Alaba, Donnarumma, Messi and Hakan Calhanoglu. Maybe Depay. Elseid Hysaj might be an OK option at RB to give Wan Bissaka a bit of competition.

Messi,Ramos,Donnarumma. Aguero if only to upset City fans.

Realistically Ramos.

None of them. The wages they would demand would be ridiculous and that'll be driven up by competition (we struck lucky with Cavani as I can't remember there being any real competition there). I'd rather we sign players who are actually part of our plan as we're beginning to build a good squad here.

Having said that, I wouldn't mind us going for a freebie who is not on the OP's list, Hakan Çalhanoğlu. He'd be great as backup for Bruno and, with Pogba probably going this summer, Hakan would give us needed depth. Van De Beek is not really cutting it as a Bruno alternative and should be played deeper in midfield.

I doubt Depay would get that much. Donnarama would swap with De Gea and won't be on 300k. Alaba apparently wants 400k and rejected 250k. not sure how true this is though. As the windo drags on their demands may soften

Dont Chelsea have a pre-contract agreed with Boateng already (mentioned a few days ago) or was that BS?

Alaba has priced himself out of most clubs apart from Madrid. Wants way too much money for this climate and he is seriously overestimating his abilities at 400k a week.

Would i take any of the XI available for free realisitically? No.

It's like Draxler is the one who doesn't belong.

Hes delusional. Footballers losing the plot nowadays and I seriously question a person who DEMANDS 400k per week (21mill annum) during a pandemic. Who does he think he is, Lebron James??

I fail to see how anyone (at least based on talent) doesn’t see thats a strong list of free agents most of which would be good squad or even first team players.

I really doubt we’ll go for any of them but if I had to pick it would be Alaba or Ramos.

Everyone other than draxler and donnaruma are in decline/back end of their careers.

Donnarumma wants Champions League football to stay at Milan and with them in a genuine title race I’d say they are nailed on for a Champions League spot at the very least, if he was going to leave he’d already be talking to other clubs and said to be deep in discussions with Milan for a new contract so he’s not young anywhere.

Alaba from what I’ve read from Bayern fans is great at left back, average as a centre back and awful in midfield so as we’ve got Shaw in great form as well as Telles as back up I don’t think Alaba on £400K a week is needed at all. Boateng struggled over here around his peak so way past his peak he’d be awful whilst Ramos simply wants a new contract and will end up with one.

Di Maria is never happening and that rat faced mercenary cnut can feck off somewhere else, Draxler is the most overrated German player of the past 20 years, Wilnajdum and Fernandinho are both a complete non starter and I don’t think Depay would want to come back although I don’t think he’d be much better than before anyway.

Messi is a weird one as there’s no denying that he’s still the best player in the world and the amount of marketing opportunities that he’d bring are only equalled by bringing Ronaldo back but that said at 34 by next season I don’t think signing him on a contract of £1 million a week is great business and I don’t think he’d do what he has before over here at this stage of his career, Aguero I would in a second but again it’s a non starter.

Alaba and Ramos hundred percent. Boateng maybe, if the wage was low enough, which is unlikely.

Haven't seen that keeper so can't say anything about him.

well, young for starters.

Cavani aside.
Donarumma is 21

We could do with more experience in our team. I’d love a leader like Ramos in our back line. He & Alaba are considerably better than all of our centre backs. Alaba can also play left back & centre mid.

thaks for bankrupting us. Thats an additional £150 mill in wages and signing on fees. Yaaaaay

Calm down. It's an imaginary situation. Regardless, all of those would instantly turn us into the best team in the league.

I thought the Man United way was a long term project investing in the future and not buying players for instant success that will retire or leave the next season..

That's not been the "man united way" since Ed "galactico" Woodward took over up until Ole. See, Di Maria, Lukaku, Maguire, Pogba etc. Plus, you know, we're not actually buying them. Since they are free transfers.

Yeah despite the age would still take Ramos but he will get what he wants from Real in the end

Errrm. I'm not sure. Barcelona were not the best with Messi Suarez and Griezmann. Got beat 7-0. Aguero is becoming a liablity due to injuries and Pep seems content to offload. Ramos is old. Alaba is good.
