Not for me, all the talent in the world cannot help if the attitude isn't right and if the players is injury prone. He's a bit thick Ousname on the field, come to think about it those big chances at the Nou Camp contributed a lot to Barca being knocked out in the semis

Honestly looking around at all the players of his age group he is by far the most talented and at times that talent has pulled Barca’s asses out of the fire but if someone could get him focused and free from injury he’d be incredible and for those reasons I’d never say no to him. Wanted him since his time in Rennes and if it’s possible to get him then go for it, hopefully after DeLigt is already tied up as to not fund Barca’s bid for him.

I don't know, he has been in Barca for 2 seasons now and he is still nowhere near a fully formed player.

Speaking about Barca's wingers, what do you guys think about Malcom?

Still haven't forgiven him for not finishing those 2 great chances at the end of the home game v Liverpool.

He might have all the talent in the world but no club is going to want to touch him at that price once they do their checks on his attitude.

So on that note I won’t be investing

Yup the next Balotelli or Ben Arfa.

I’d take him in a heartbeat. Would be our best attacker by a distance

Injury prone, weak, unprofessional, bad attitude, doesn’t look after himself, AND inconsistent ??! Where do we sign?!

He'd cost a bomb too. Definite no from me.

No doubt his ability but fergie used to talk about signing people with the right personality (for example Ronaldo who was determined to become a world great). Fergie wouldn’t have touched this lad with a barge pole

I will buy him due to his Balon D'or potential. If he buckles up, play him. Simple as that. The manager's job is to manage and if Ole feels confident, why not? I take a Dembele anytime over mediocre homegrown/English players like Jones, Lingard, Young Smalling etc.

Would just add to the current crap mentality that we have. If we had a strong team and needed to take that final step, I'd consider it, but no way with the current weak attitude in the dressing room.

And if he doesn't?

Think it’s not as straightforward as that, whilst I do agree. Outside of football, we’re still talking about a very young man. There’s certainly hope for him yet, and a club will consider the vast potential benefit of a grown up Ousmane Dembele. His crimes after all can be summarised as immaturity. Nothing sinister, and he needs to grow up a bit.

Personally, I’d take Sancho over him though, as when you consider all the factors you mentioned, he scores better.

If we can stick to complete gobshit for years, i don't see us having a problem with Dembele. On a serious note, the talent is there and is up to Ole to manage and create a competitive winning culture where players strive hard to be in the starting 11.

I'd have said yes after those two seasons in Rennes and Dortmund. but after what I've seen in his last two years, I'm not so sure about him anymore. brainless, bad attitude, injury prone and expensive as hell. I honestly wouldn't care that much if we missed the chance to sign him.

Absolutely no point with Sancho in the market for a similar price. He's had what two seasons at Barcelona ? And doesn't look anything close to being an integral first team player despite clearly having the talent. The rumours about his game console / junk food addition, late to training etc he's the opposite of the type of attitude and temperament we need.

People complain about having the likes of Rabiot / Icardi but aside there presence in the media you can't really question the professionalism of these players. We've already got one snail brain in Martial, don't think Dembele is ideal for what we need even though he is a right sided player.

Apparently he has a close group of friends and he hosts gaming parties for them. They do it really often and they eat a bunch of junk food which resulted on him getting sick and missing one practice. So he's had problems with Barcelona because him staying late at night playing and his bad eating habits contribute to his bad form and he hasn't stopped.

He probably shouldn’t sign for Southampton so!

In all seriousness if he was hungry and genuinely up the challenge I’d take him here no bother even on a huge fee. I do feel we were probably in for him before and he didn’t want to come here though so I doubt he’d be coming now for anything other than a huge contract. Given what we know about him he’d be too big of a gamble for someone like Ole to tame. Pogba himself and martial in one team where everything is going wrong. Lord above. But if somehow it all clicks... much more chance of it not working out though as much of our transfer activity will testify to.

Pros:

Has some potential with his very good dribbling and blistering pace.

Cons:

Attitude issues. Comes to Barca and misses training sessions repeatedly in his first season. Refused to train at Dortmund to force through his transfer.

Injury-prone.

Not a natural finisher. Many of his goals are deflections or uncontrolled full power blasts without aim.

Lazy and light-weight in defense.

Lucas Moura / Douglas Costa type of talent, if you ask me. On his day, can be devastating a few games in a season but overall will never make it into top 5 players in the world. Probably not even Player of The Season in any league bar Bundesliga.

Already have plenty of players with bad attitudes at the club. Why in hell would we want another? Avoid.

Could just be a poor match like when Ibrahimovic went to Barca. Dembele did brilliantly enough At Dortmund to have circa £135m splashed on him.

I also remember Fergie (funny how we talk about his words like Gods lol) saying a player was worth the extra stress if they were special. When I’ve seen Dembele he looks special

Players like Martial and Dembele should learn from Mbappe. He is a bigger talent and plays in an easier league but still works harder and plays with more passion than both of them.

No, not really. He has attitude issues which were evident ever since Barca showed interest in him. At Dortmund,he didn’t show up for training, he disobeyed the club, he was giving interviews and doing all kinds of shite to get that transfer. And once he did get that transfer, he started making outrageous demands. I remember reading an article where he was demanding separate flats for him, his family and others.

Here are a few comments from people who have managed him or play with him -

Deschamps -
Dembele was absent from training due to a stomach bug but failed to inform the club of his absence until an hour and a half after he was meant to arrive because his phone battery died.
His national team manager Deschamps has fired an aggressive warning to the fourth most expensive player in the world.

"Ousmane has been with us for a while. That's his usual trick to be late, but in his defence, I'm sure he'll say: 'I'm not the only one.'
So it’s not just with Barca, his attitude is the same with the National team too

Suarez -
"Being a footballer is a privilege, I think he should concentrate mainly on football, and be inspired by the examples of professionalism in the Barça dressing room,"

Here’s another article which is about his attitude problems -
https://www.goal.com/en-in/news/gam...oublemaker-dembele/12nj492ufdme11f0dgxlb7vnmr

Since he arrived in the summer of 2017 he has been late to training and other meetings or events on numerous occasions, showing a lack of respect for the club and his team-mates.

There have been other complaints about the amount of time he spends playing video-games, often at inopportune hours, while his professionalism regarding diet has been called into question on numerous occasions.

He’s extremely talented, but talented doesn’t mean shite if his attitude sucks. Considering the number of primadonnas we have in our squad, adding another one by spending 100-150 mill is not the best idea. People have problem with us signing Rabiot on free and he’s not caused half the problems Dembele has caused.

Barca put in a lot of effort and money to get Dembele in. They know how talented he is but despite all that they are allegedly looking to sell him. That should be clear enough an indication for us to stay away
Interesting. Would stay well clear if that's the case.

I would take him. He’s a monstrously talented player.

In terms of raw talent, I would say that Dembele is more talented than Mbappe, though not by much. I agree though that he is planets ahead of the other two because he works harder and really gives his all. There’s also a great deal of maturity to his game, even at such a young age, that you don’t see in the others.

Being late for training at both Dortmund and Barca, shame really, this lad has real talent, along with his injury record, we should probably stay clear, unless the free was low

Top class talent but seems a poor professional. Not sure we need any more of those.

Totally disagree. Only off-field distractions or injuries can stop him from becoming a Balon D'or contender. Incredibly talented and can do anything with the football. IMHO, he is more talented than Mbappe and Sancho and would transform our attack completely.

I can understand the concerns about his injury record but this is blown way out of proportion. He has played 42 games last year and is still 22.

Then why are Barca trying to sell him? They were not happy with him last year and this year again the same rumors have emerged. It shows that he hasn't changed despite people all around him telling him to. Barca is his dream club, he did all kinds of shite to get that transfer, the Dortmund CEO or someone even said that he should be banned for all the crap he pulled to get the transfer. If he doesn't give a damn about playing at his dream club with the likes of Messi, you think he will give it all here playing with fecking Lingard in Europa?

Sign him up. In a world of media-trained social media bores, the true shitposter is king.

For the money it would cost to gamble on Dembele, we could probably convince Dormund to part with Sancho this summer. That seems like the better option.
We probably won’t

Sancho isn’t coming this summer. It’s a dead horse that’s being flogged till there’s nothing left

Would take him. Anyone saying they wouldn't forgets who we have there right now and how good Dembele can be. Plus still very young and loads of time to get consistency. Could have just been a year of bad luck with injuries or whatever else.

Consistency and all around game play can be improved, but his injury record is kinda really bad, I don't think he's worth the risk.
We'd be basically getting a younger Bale.

He'd be a good fit at PSG. He could score 25 goals a season there, be one of the best players in the league, without having to break a sweat too often.

They'd be one of the very few clubs that could afford to take him from Barca

It is very very hard for a 22 year old to adjust the change in life style and weather from barcelona to manchester. For the money mentioned I would rather go for Sancho.
