Our Rivals' squads next year - Manchester City (2016/2017)

Barcelona were in cruise control last night. If you had managed to take the lead they would have just gone up a gear to get it back. It's foolish to think that you would have got anything out of the game with or without Bravo. It's also a massive case of sour grapes to say that Spurs only beat you due to your mistakes. They were vastly superior all over the pitch & unlucky to only score 2.

Never recalled saying we wouldn't have lost had Bravo not fecked up or that Spurs only beat us due to mistakes. And Barcelona were certainly not in cruise control, they played well below their standards and we should have punished them.

Just their social media being 'hip' and 'cool'. Most replies to football tweets are either 'shat on x', 'daddy', 'delete this' or 'announce x'. They did the 'announce x' thing with Gundogan and their fans are doing 'delete this' with that tweet.
It's truly cringeworthy. I guess you have to resort to that kind of thing when you are a small club

Edit - I watched that match and remember what Sane did. Hit it too hard and Southampton easily cleared it! Why would City tweet such a poor bit of play

What an absolute peach of a performance today. It's been long time coming now.

Aguero's finally looking like he has adapted to Pep's tactics.

And finally,Gundogan, what a beautiful player. 2 goals, 1 assist, 4 chances today.
Plus, most successful pass completion in the league.

Deffo bargain of the season.

Easy there tiger. You beat a bottom half of the table club who showed little intent to do anything. Let's see how you do against Barca.

Aguero was dropped against Barca as Pep didn't think he could handle the work load he would need to put in. He's had little work to do today as WB offered no threat. When you come up against teams that try to play it remains to be seen if Aguero can play with the intensity Pep want's while still managing to score.

Gundogan has played little this season. It's easy to have great stat's if you don't spend that much time on the pitch. His injury record isn't great. It's a major reason Dortmund flogged him to you. Ludicrous to be calling him bargain of the season when we are not even half way through.

Zlatan wasnt dropped against anyone as Jose doesn't think he could upset the marketeers work load they would need to put in. He's had little work to do today as Burnley offered no threat. When you come up against teams that try to play it remains to be seen if zlatan can have that many opportunities with his ability while still not managing to score.

mhki has played little this season. It's easy to have crap stat's if youre not allowed on the pitch. His ability record is great. It's a major reason A German team flogged him to you. Ludicrous to not be calling on him and continue using the 'bargain of the season' zlatan, when you are not safe from half way through the table.

Gundogan has played almost every game since he's been available. As for the aguero thing, mountain out of molehill. He didn't play cause Pep wanted 6 mf.

I still think we struggle with him kdb and silva on the pitch. Today 2 of the 3 played and we were better like early season when Gundo was injured. We need nolito and sterling in the starting Xi and 2 of the already mentioned with Fernandinho to be balanced

Gundogan has missed nearly half of your total PL games. It's mental how the OP was talking about his pass completion rating being the best in the league. An absolute nonsense to suggest Pep dropped Aguero due to wanting to flood the MF.

It's been a difficult run of games for us recently and some of the performances haven't been up to scratch at all, but today was simply a mix of us being fantastic and West Brom being so poor. We constantly exploited the space they offered us and came away with a confidence-boosting win.

Recorded Game of the Day which was West Brom - City.

Gundagon came up with some big plays in the final third but every time I watch City I'm impressed with Fernandinho. Very, very good player.

He's always been a very good player for them, regardless of the manager. A very underrated midfielder and it's no surprise Guardiola is including him in his plans every week.

December might end up being a decisive month for them. Away trips to Leicester and Liverpool as well as home games with Arsenal and Chelsea will be a test for Guardiola and show us what City are made of.

Little intent? We had the total control of the game from the word go. And I've been hearing before the game about how a Toni Pulis masterclass is imminent, from Pundits and fans as well. Plus West Brom are the same bottom half team who Tottenham (who are apparently better than us) couldn't beat.

Considering all that, It's a very good result and I am chuffed about it.

And Gundogan being the best passer is nothing new, he's been doing that since I've known him as a player. He had the best pass completion last year as well, even though he had Xabi Alonso and Thiago under a Pep system, as a competition.
Plus, The only major injuries he had were freak injuries, idk how many times I have heard this injury prone argument. Take away those injuries, he's as injury prone as other 10 players on the pitch.

Can see how things will go on here in the next two games. Barcelona will defeat City and United fans will be on slagging Pep and City, then they will hammer Boro next weekend and City fans will be on being wax-lyrical over the performance. As some people said during the winning run, should wait until the end of this year to fully analyse how City and other teams are performing. Going to be ups and downs throughout.

Don't take up betting

Can't believe they dropped points because Aguero & De Bruyne can't finish easy chances. Boro had no right leaving that ground with anything today.

They were Stoked today.
2 wins in 9, and if we win tomorrow and we ignore the Manchester derby then City have only won 3 more points v the rest of the league than we have.
What a league

Barcelona's performance after City equalized was shambolic, I'd fancy us to get something from the game if they played like that.

Crap result today yet they're still absolutely miles ahead of us and we won't get near them in the league.

Didn't kill the game when they could. But this team has real leaks at the back. Their back four plus Bravo doesnt inspire much confidence in holding one goal leads.

Turns out it was the other way around lol.

It was much like our game against Stoke, just Boro had a couple chances prior to the equaliser whereas Stoke had feck all against us.

Just a bit of an anomaly result, though they have drawn their last 3 PL games 1-1 at home to Everton/Soton/Boro.

Who would have bet on that.

Bravo is poor. Arguably one of the poorer GK in the prem IMO. KdB excellent, Aguero class, and Silva on his day is excellent too as is Fernandinho. Rest are meh. Kompany isnt as good as he was... Sane ill reserve judgement on and gundogan. Rest though, nah not having them

At the moment Caballero is the best keeper they have.

Remembering them when they were a machine, 3 home draws is incredible!

Doesn't excuse our 2 home draws against toilet though as we aint doing it away from home.

Wasn't far off mate.

The post was actually spot on if you just got the results the right way around

For example:

Not that surprised tbh. Middlesbrough were very good against Arsenal at the Emirates and had the best chances on the day. I haven't seen the game today but Boro can hold their own.

Really poor second half today. Should have one but the second half was one of those performances that yet again the players are still adapting to playing Pep's way for 180 minutes per week. Yet again our lack of killer instinct has cost us. People can blame our defence but our lack of killer instinct has now cost us 6 points and home and a win at Celtic. This team really need to become much more ruthless to get anywhere near Barca, Real and Bayern.
