Our best team

Not to mention right-back.

One of the papers did a comparison between the Fulham striker and Ole. Their comment was that both performed well with the notable exception being the service given to Marlet.

No Veron, No Blanc, and 4-4-2...yes, that's our best team

Definetly agree with that! Let's play all together then...

When you look at that side and consider that Veron, Butt and Brown would be on the bench as well, there really should be no stopping us. Bring on Arsenal, Liverpool and Real - we'll take them all. But then, as is being discussed in other threads, you come back to the Fergie factor. Fergie will always play Blanc ahead of O'Shea. He will insist that the sole striker is the only way to go, playing two strikers is now outmoded. He will want to accomodate both Veron and Scholes... etc etc.

Then I would say that having Fergie in charge is not unlike Margaret "The only way is my way" Thatcher as PM.

That spawn of satan has no place in any civilised conversation

What's wrong with a dictatorial leader provided that on the whole he makes the right decisions ?

Nothing. If he makes the right decisions. Or maybe some would say no dictatorship is right.

He is in charge and has to take responsibility for the clubs results. So, I would expect him to do it his way. Why shouldn't he do it his way? That's why he is the manager. He makes the decisions, good or bad.

if he makes it work, then no problems whatsoever.. i'm sure our fans hate the fact that we lose to games against leeds, arsenal, liverpool.. it's pathetic.. we should be playing on the same level and should be posing them threats.. we're handing it to them rather easily these days..

we'll all be very happy should United win over Liverpool and Arsenal with the 4-4-1-1 plan, but at the moment the chances are looking very bleak.

I won't write them off totally, but it does look like we're getting to that.

Full strenght

Barthez
G Nev
Ferdinand
W Brown
Silvestre
Beckham
Keane
Scholes
Giggs
RVN
OGS

Res
Ricardo
O Shea
Blanc
Butt
Webber (or new striker)

Def Blanc is too old, O Shea is too young, so why not going in for the middle man W Brown? Wes is a good player and his on and off the pitch friendship with Rio would help. I would also give Rio a deeper role, protecting the defense from any blunders. If we are winning and things are getting tight, Ill put Blanc as a sweeper in a
5-4-1 formation

midfield. I prefare the classic 4 with Giggsie and Becks running on the wings and Keano and scholes in the heart of the midfield. There is greater understanding between them. When Scholes gets tired Ill put in Veron, while if we are winning Ill put in Butt for major cover.

Attack The RVN and OGS partnership is the only good thing coming out from last season. They can score loads and thats a fact. On the long run I see solskjear best utilised in the second half so we would bring in 2 forwards ( while sending Forlan back to his country.) I would also like to see Webber's potentiality at OT.

Formation defending 5-4-1 =
Barthez Blanc Ferdinand W Brown G Neville Silvestre Keane Butt Beckham Giggs RVN

Normal formation 4-4-2
Barthez Ferdinand Brown G Nev Silvestre Keane Butt Beckham Giggs RVN OGS

Attacking ( desperate* or Really desperate** ) c 3-4-1-2

Barthez Blanc,Ferdinand,G Nev, Keane, Beckham, Giggs, Butt*/Veron**, Scholes OGS, RVN

Can't agree about Wes Brown. He doesn't have half the presence of JOS.
