Otten Cup 2016

Where are Burkhart and O'Connor? I guess there are older players who need more game time. Would have also liked to see Williams with the group.

Burkart hasn't got clearance yet, he's at carrington and was training today (according to his Instagram). Seems as if Chong has got his, if he's involved? O'connor's on international duty for Ireland u17. Roshaun is injured, dunno how long he has left.

Thanks. Chong appears to be involved according to the squad list.

Starting XI vs. Barca:

Sebtaoui
Tanner - Warren - Poole - Hamilton
Sang - Whelan
Gribbin - Gomes - Chong
Dearnley

Boonen on for Dearnley.

Red card for Warren after he thwarted Barca's Lee Seung Woo to be one on one with Sebtaoui.

nice to see them in the final, Gribbin and Dearnley(Gomes assist) with the goals against Barca.

Does anyone know why Ercolani and Barrett have been brought along and haven't played? We have a defensive crisis right now and they're not involved. Injured or not fit?

Anderlecht down to 10 man, hopefully we can score in the second half...

They weren't fit to play.Even Max Dunne got a knock after the first game so basically we ran out of defenders.

No idea.Think Spratt is also injured, as was Buffonge Makela and Roberts (just return)

That many injuries already? Crazy. The tournament was worth it though, if this is the alternative to the milk cup, then it's a no brainer. Great experience for them.

Their number 19! The poor guy missed three sitters (especially the second chance) during the game and a penalty in the shootout.

Going by that video Anderlect deserved the win. They had a number of great chances and some of those were after the sending off.

Obviously I don't watch the tournament but going by the fact that Chong didn't have any goal or assist (?) I wouldn't be surprised if there was some Dutch bias on how they select the award's winner.

Anyone know how Angel Gomes did? I have very high hopes for him, the term special is thrown around a lot lately, but he looks the real deal.

Nearly every high profile foreign import becomes a first team player.

Rossi, Piqué, Macheda, Pogba, Januzaj and Pereira.

Can count at least twice as many that didnt became first team players......and not sure you can count Pogba and Rossi as first team players, they had less then 10 appearances combine for the first team. Ok Pogba came back so he can count but the point still stands for Rossi, just 5 appearances is not enough IMO.

What drugs are you on?

Piqué played 23 times for the first team and even has a Champions League medal for playing 3 times in the group stage, from which he scored 2 goals.

Rossi played for the club 14 times and scored 4 goals. Pogba made 7 first team appearances.

In recent years, the only two high profile foreign imports who did't make the breakthrough were Petrucci (injuries) and Daehli.

Pique also got a prem medal I believe, special dispensation and all that. But there's been a few in terms of big name foreigners who didn't make it. Fornasier, Gollini (fiorentina kicked up a big fuss over both) eikrem, Hussein, Josh King and some others. Being a foreigner is defo not a guarantee for the future, but it's still too early to tell tbh.
