United will be sending a squad to this year's Otten Cup in Eindhoven hosted by PSV starting tomorrow and finishing on Sunday.

It is an U/19 youth tournament and this will be the first year we will compete.

The Reds are in Group B along with Borussia Moenchengladbach, PSV Eindhoven and Chivas Guadalajara.

The tournament is 2 x 30 minute halves so they are not full matches.

I expect the official MUFC site will provide some details at some point.

Here is a link so that people can follow the tournament live.

The other four teams involved are Barcelona, Paris Saint-Germain, Red Bull Brasil and Anderlecht.

Friday 5 August - PSV Eindhoven v United, 16:40 BST
Saturday 6 August - United v Borussia Monchengladbach, 11:20 BST
Saturday 6 August - United v Chivas Guadalajara, 14:00 BST

The semi-finals take place on Sunday at 10:00 BST with the final matches held later in the day.

As Tommy Martin is taking the team in this tournament and there hasn't been any other news up till now, is it safe to assume that he's keeping the job?

I understand that Sam Johnstone's younger brother Max, who is also a goalkeeper, will part of the squad. Not sure if he is on trial or helping out. Josh Bohui, Chong and Gribbin also part of squad.

If we're taking him, does that mean we're still looking for a keeper? Because last I remembered he was at fleetwood. And has bohui signed yet?

Tomorrow we have scheduled an interview with Indy (let's keep things a bit easy for us, he speaks Dutch).

Yes, it's the same date of birth. The official names which are in the passports are used on the squadlists. I suppose his is Adilson?

XI vs. PSV:
M.Johnstone
Sang - M.Dunne - Warren - Kenyon
Poole - Hamilton
Gribbin - Whelan - Chong
Dearnley

he will be this season and with england's youth setup being a mess he should play every every game possible, specially because he is by far the best player there(never saw Chong so lets not count him). I mean look at that midfield.....Poole who is a CB and two bang average players in Hamilton and Whelan(i know he has fans here but i dont rate him). Not watching the game but i can pretty much see how the game is going, Gribbin doesnt have nobody to play with so will force everything, Coutinho esque.

edit: looks like we are 1:0 down at the HT, no surprise there....

I've seen you post before. By the way you post, it's hard to workout whether you're trolling or just an extremely negative "fan".

This is a 98' tournament and Gomes was born in August 2000, youngest in the team.I don't think that XI is the strongest possible anyway, probably rotating throughout the tournament (no way Max Dunne is ahead of both Ercolani and Barrett)

I dont post much but when i do its more often negative then positive as whats the point of posting for example how good job is Joyce doing when that was said by hundred people before me....
As for negativity, i defended plenty of academy players here.....most often Lingard but yeah, its easier to remember only the "negative" things.

He is about 5 feet and is only 15 in an u19 tournament. The likes of Gribbin, Poole, and Dearnley likely won't be playing much in the u18s so he will take their spots in the season. As Khoazany said too it is a tournament, there will be rotation. We have I believe a guarantee of 240 minutes of football over the weekend, we'll have to be changing the side around.

Gomes,Boonen and Barlow now on for United in place of Dunne,Hamilton and Sang.Very attacking line-up now.

Hope he doesn't make a habit of being conservative or playing players out of position of he's going to be permanent manager for the u18s.

First half was not good, lost the ball quite easily everytime. Second half was a bit better, but hard time opening up PSV's defense. Gomes and Boonen were pushing more than the ones that were on before.

XI vs. Gladbach:
Sebtaoui - Sang,Poole,Warren,Kenyon - Whelan,Hamilton - Gomes,Chong,Gribbin - Dearnley

Lol, are you here? Where did you see that Gomes was brought down? :)

Ah! I see :) (You were almost faster than I could write the tournament-tweet)

It ended 1-0.
Gribbin and Gomes were replaced by Barlow and Tanner.
Bohui seems to have come on at half time.

Highlights from the first game, PSV battered us(fantastic goal as well) :(

Starting XI against Chivas:
Moutha-Sebtaoui, Hamilton, Tanner, Bohui, Warren, Whelan, Boonen, Gomes, Barlow, Gribbin, Poole.

1-0 down atm..
