Oscar Bobb - De Bruyne's eventual successor?

Norway suddenly got top10 world talents in a bunch of summer sports over the past years, like the mens 1500meter and 5000meter, 400m hurdles WR, Decathlon olympic champion, golf, tennis, Chess GOAT, etc. Its an absolutely wild time to be a sports fan in Norway. We already got winter sports locked down, but now we are coming for summer as well.

Yeah sure, how many Olympic medals again?

Wouldn’t it be likelier Foden plays centrally and Bobb occupies the wing?
Absolutely, Bobb (if he makes it) will play wide, maybe occasionally as a 10. Foden is a shoe in for KDB's role

Foden isn't good enough to be City's main man and play centrally for them. They'll sign someone like Musiala or switch the system post-KDB. Foden's gonna stay on the wing and keep doing what he's been doing.

Didn’t he play quite centrally last season, especially during KdB’s injury absences? And he was quite integral to them (ie their main man), culminating in him winning POTS? Either way though, i agree that they’ll definitely struggle to replace KdBs creativity. Not many players out there at that level.

Did you miss last season? He literally carried City playing centrally.

Receiving and turning to shoot after 2 or 3 touches maximum in central areas either inside or on the edge of the opponent's box is different to what KDB does for City. And that's what Foden mostly does, after space has been created for him. Literally 90% of his goals came from such situations last year where he apparently "carried" City. I don't think he's that much of a ball carrier either, and the passing and creativity of KDB is obviously on a different level as well. Not explosive and pacey enough, either. I don't see Foden working that well at #10 ahead of Rodri and a carrier-type #8. I think City will fancy someone that offers more than Foden in that position.

I mean, no matter your opinion on whether he did “carry” them or not, he won the POTS award, whilst being instrumental for city and they ended up winning the league. He was a match winner for them on multiple occasions. I mean all that is factual, really. So not sure what we’re discussing.

And none of this means they don’t end up signing another big star or talent to fill the KdB void in future, of course, but Foden will be an important player for them irrespective.

That is a shame rivalry aside he looked like he was going to be amazing to watch.

Damn that's terrible. Was it a friendly? It wasn't in the charity shield right?

Going to Barcelona for treatment. He’ll be alright

They will definitely sign two now if it's as bad as they're saying and lost Alvarez to Atletico too

Pep's magic Barcelona doctor will probably just harvest a bone from the most robust looking street vendor in La Rambla, stick Bobb on enough gear to make Scott Steiner blush and he'll be back in time for Arsenal GW5.

Bad news for us and him. Had potential to be our best offensive players atleast for the first couple of months of the season, considering his form in pre-season.

Very unlucky for him, he looked primed to have good season ahead.

Impact injury, training or an accident ? better than ligaments or tendons. At least when he comes back should get to 100% again quickly.

Feel really bad for the guy. Was primed to have a great breakout season and then this happens.

On an unrelated look at me note, we had a fantasy draft last night and I drafted him pretty early. Not happy about it.

Unlucky, I'm sure he'll come right back and do well this season. De Bruyne? Dont think they're similar players. Perhaps he might be a reason to switch Foden into the De Bruyne role though with him able to take over right wing.
