Nolan snubbed again

Toy Story 3 will win best animated feature but it should go to How To Train Your Dragon, much better film.

Judging from what i've seen / know, they'd be my likely winners this year (bar Inception maybe, just a personal favourite of mine!).

Shame about Nolan being overlooked again :nono:

Apart from Portman and Toy Story I think you've got them all wrong.

Can't see past Portman, Firth & Bale for the acting gongs. It could go any way between Steinfeld, Leo & Adams for supporting actress. Would quite like to see the kid win it actually.

I could care less about who wins really but Christian Bale should get an Oscar from his category, ofcourse that means he wont.

imho

Jennifer Lawrence's, performance in Winter's Bone was fantastic, but i doubt she will win as the Hollywood Hype machine is in full swing and in favor of Portman.

Nicole Kidman's portrayal of a grieving mother was also more than equal to the dissociated ballerina. Sometimes the hype surrounding the film carries the leads overall performance.

127 hours should not be in that list.

I think

The King's Speech is clearly the kind of thing that wins Oscars. It drips with Oscar potential....And I haven't seen it, I can just tell from the name and the poster.

That's not a bad call cina. I've got a hunch for The Social Network in the big 2.

Does anywhere do accumulator betting on the Oscars?

Not really, more the overall tone of it, it's just the kind of film that the Academy think is utterly brilliant. You could tell it'd be nominated before it even came out.

I haven't seen it but it's getting rave reviews I suppose. I also think when that happens with a British spoken film the oscars seem to lap it up, like The English Patient (which was far from being a great film).

The Social Network will win it, for sure.

Nolan snubbed again

Not that it deserves to be there.

Stevie G over looked again. :(

Wow Chris Nolan just does not have any luck with Oscars. His last two movies have made almost $2 billion in total.

I doubt inception's gonna win it, it's pure genius in term of idea and premises but as a movie it just a movie.

Oscar have a habit of rewarding low budget flavor of the year. Blockbusters seldom made it in oscar.

What I thought you loved Inception

I swear I'm must be having a different discussion from everyone else. People saying Nolan snubbed when it's nominated for best pic, which I don't think it's deserving of.

I saw that. But that is only one. That movie definitely deserves more than one.
Ah I see what you mean now. It doesn't deserve to be in for the best picture though, then again there's a few others there that don't as well.

Hey guys Michael Bays films make money too, lets make he gets nominated for Transformers 3 next year!

The Fighter is pretty mediocre, and Another Year should of been in there instead of that, but other than that I don't care.

They're all shit films..wouldn't give tuppence for any of them...just Hollywood congratulating itself for paying ridiculous amounts of money to a bunch of so called actors...

All I can say is that it provides employment for a lot of people, so I guess it can't be all bad...

Seriously though, if Black Swan is the best they can find to nominate as best picture what a load of dross the rest must be...I despair...

A lot of people are hailing Toy Story 3 as one of the best animated films of all time. I ll be surprised if it does not win any oscars especially for the best animated film category.

That's a load of shit tbh, if true. Toy Story 3 was not even the best of the trilogy, let alone, the best animated film of all time.

So I didn't figure this out but apparently all the nominations for Best Documentary Feature might actually sound like anal sex movies?

Exit Through the Gift Shop – Banksy and Jaimie D'Cruz
Gasland – Josh Fox and Trish Adlesic
